The young lady who checked me in was wonderful. Then the shift changed and the entire experience went downhill quickly. If it weren’t for the original young lady’s kindness and good attitude, I would have reported this property to the health department. There are dead bugs in my room, dirty, torn screens, and the later shift desk employee was awful, and argued with me when I politely tried to remedy an issue.

Its location is perfect because it is close to all the attractions in the area: The natural Bridge Park, the zoo, the caverns, the Safari Park, the Dinosaur Park. The hotel has a lot of character although the rooms in the Veranda section (which in we stayed) are a little dated, but they are clean. The bathroom is small. Being an old hotel, the noise of the pipes is considerable. The main building is beautiful and the rooms in there are nicer. The rooms do not have mini fridges nor microwaves nor coffee makers, but in the main building you can find mini fridges and microwaves in every floor. They also have washing machines. In the mornings, you can find coffee and tea for self-service in the Reception area. You can find also a convenience store in the lobby area. The hotel offers decent and convenient Breakfast Buffet for $ 14 and Dinners Buffet for 24.95 at the Colonial Dining Room. On Fridays they also have a Seafood Buffet for $ 44.95. We might had expected more variety of seafood for that price. The main dish of the buffet is the crab legs, and people were really enjoying it. The staff was always friendly and attentive

The pictures are not representative. The hotel is old and run down. It also has a history to it you should check out before booking.

Before booking I looked at the other reviews and thought people were overreacting but no. We picked the hotel because of the location and convenience to everything we wanted to see the following day. It is definitely not worth paying over $100 for. We chose to stay in the “Guest rooms on Cottage Hill” because of the privacy.....we get into our room and the toilet is broken, one of the beds didn’t have a bed skirt(made it look unkept), spots on the sheets and we had a ice bucket with the closest ice machine back at the main hotel down the big hill and across the main road. The breakfast buffet was very good and the employees were very nice. I think the hotel just needs a little extra TLC if they want their customers to come back.

Beautiful location. Very close to Natural Bridge, Caverns, etc.

Folks should know that when you stay in the annex, the rooms are very basic. Clean and comfortable but nothing fancy.

The Verenda rooms need updating. We did request another room and they accommodated pleasantly with same area but the room was much better. No frills in room, such as coffee makers, microwave, or refridgerator. Coffee is only available in lobby in the morning. The staff was great and helpful. We purchased cheep coffee maker for our trip. The area is beautiful and the Natural BridgePark across fromhotel. Had a wonderful time. The needmore rocking chairs due to only a few out at the doors and if there are a group staying they use them all (only 6 chairsfor whole floor.

the Hotel was keep up nice. Food was good although a little pricey. We were there for two nights and they did not clean our room or resupply the room. we were also locked out of our room after a long day.

Unique older hotel in great shape right across from Natural Bridge State Park. They even have an underground walkway to get you to the park safely.

Rooms were newly "freshened" (not really renovated). It was nicer except for the fact that they took the electrical outlet out of the bathrooms. There are just a few simple things that would make a stay there a little better - a chair , an electrical outlet in the bathroom, a small table (or chair) by the dressing mirror. And I don't mind reusing towels, but please don't take them and not leave any. We discovered this at almost midnight - no towels - when stepping out of the shower. Called the front desk but there was no one to but the desk clerk and she couldn't leave so we dried off with the two hand towels that were left.

It was great. Friendly staff, comfortable room, lovely setting.

Love the history, great visit, restaurant food was ok

It was awesome. The people were friendly and the place was clean and nice.

Excellent dining staff. Jessie was great. Saturday night meal was wonderful

Breakfast buffet was a little pricey for the quality of most of the choices...there was, however an omelet station which was a nice touch. Having said that, it was about the same price as "off the menu" breakfast and it was all you can eat, so it was still a decent deal. Also it was nice to have a leisurely breakfast. I enjoyed our stay very much and would stay again; and would probably order the breakfast buffet again as well.
