Group of 50 walking Camino stayed at this hotel for a week Rooms and ensuite bathroom to a good standard Well serviced Breakfast was hit and miss On a few days big numbers for breakfast which seemed to overwhelm the staff and they could not keep up with the demand to replenish the buffet The coffee machines could not handle the demands Other days with lesser numbers there was not so many problems The bar behind reception was hit and miss and the level of serviced varied greatly. The biggest disappointment was the attitude of the reception staff. ApRt from one lady most were not really interested in providing guest requirements A good hotel which has the potential to be very good I stayed in the same chain in San Sebastián and it was excellent
Leon is an amazing city just 2.30 hours away from Madrid if coming by fast train or 4 hours by bus. Leon has some really nice scenic locations to be worth visiting. It is one of the neatest cities of Spain & you can find lot of gardens & parks in Leon. People love football here & you can see them playing all around you if wondering all the city. Hotel Silken Luis de Leon is located in the heart of the city and just in front of the very famous & biggest shopping mall at 25 meters distance. Worth visiting if coming to Spain for a leisure trip.
Arrived after a long day. First room we were offered had not been cleaned but we were immediately offered another modern and quiet room. Dinner was included but restaurant was full so ate in the bar. Limited menu del dia but tasty enough. Tina's salmon not cooked so sent it back and got another. Breakfast OK. Slept really well in a comfy bed
The rooms and bathrooms are large. It is a five minute into the old city and also down to the river. Right opposite the El Conde Ingles store and supermarket. The only this wrong would be that there are no tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms.
Stayed here two weeks ago, mercifully for only one night as part of an otherwise excellent tour. The rooms were fine, receptionist very helpful recommending a nearby restaurant as the in house facilities were taken over for a first communion party - and the bar was mobbed as Leon were playing a key football match. The barman was, frankly, incompetent, to make matters worse. The best was yet to come: breakfast for our group of 22 was served gracelessly in a windowless basement room and consisted of a choice of Cocopops or cornflakes with 8 bowls ... no fruit, some packaged cakes and the usual DIY toast, with useless domestic toasters. Only coffee was on offer. The two staff couldn't have been less helpful. The breakfast in the restaurant was of the standard we had met in every other hotel. Our guide was mortified and you can be pretty sure the agency will not use the hotel again. Also, the rooms and some of the bedding stank of cigarette smoke.
This is our second stay in a Silken hotel. The forest one was in Gijon (Spain) and, as, the experience was great, I decided to book a Silken Hotel in Leon (spain). The hotel is great, close to the old town, with modern architecture and all what you can dream of. Our room was quite small ( my wife believes that all true small rooms are reserved for guys who book on TripAdvisor as I do). Bedding is good. Bathroom is good as well. Service could be easily better : for the check in process, the young girl( an intern we believe) did not speak english but she was efficient. But, when a more difficult question arise, the older guy was doing apparently more important tasks on its cell rather than solving Customer issues. For check out, the same guy did not ask any question wether our stay was OK or not. Obviously, this a guy is far from being Customer oriented. management, ent should correct this easily. Second disappointment : breakfast. The choice of food is great : you have apparently everything. BUT : -fruits are old / outdated and even rotten. Yes rotten!!! -ham is cheap and not good at all with a metal taste. How is it possible, in a 4 star hotel, to offer ham, in Spain, with such a poor quality!! -choice for good quality teas should be offered as well. So, this hotel has every thing to be an excellent place. But reception service and quality of food shall be improved. Could be easily fixed by an efficient management.
According to a four-star hotel standard. It was as expected. Good location. No far form downtown. Near shopping store El Corte Inglés. Parking indoor. Wi-fi for free. Breakfast could be improved. Water was not cold and juices were not natural
This was an unacceptable standard for a 4 stars hotel. Unwilling service, uneatable food, air condition not working in 25 degrees C. Really bad food served not according to menu. The only good things were breakfast and beds. If you have to stay here, do NOT have dinner. We stayed one night and do not want to come here again. Ingunn Alver
Welcoming staff, indoor parking, quiet rooms with comfortable beds. All in all a pleasant stay. The hotel is getting a little tired but it did not effect the quality of our stay. Cannot really comment on the restaurants as we found the menu un-inspired and the breakfast overpriced. Far cheaper to step out for breakfast! The cleanliness was, as always, first rate.
Good location, comfy beds, good breakfast, lovely staff, couldn't fault it. Not far from attractions and shopping and restaurants close by. Clean and tidy, would stay there again if ever we did the Camino again.
