Welcoming staff, indoor parking, quiet rooms with comfortable beds. All in all a pleasant stay. The hotel is getting a little tired but it did not effect the quality of our stay. Cannot really comment on the restaurants as we found the menu un-inspired and the breakfast overpriced. Far cheaper to step out for breakfast! The cleanliness was, as always, first rate.
Good location, comfy beds, good breakfast, lovely staff, couldn't fault it. Not far from attractions and shopping and restaurants close by. Clean and tidy, would stay there again if ever we did the Camino again.
Frist night on cycle the camino. Bikes were ready for pickup from the hotel. The room was perfect, with plenty of room to spread our stuff out before re-packing again. The view wasn't much, and the included dinner was just enough. But all in all, it was a pleasant experience and I would recommend it
The value for money of this hotel is not adjusted to what you can find in the market. The carpet is old, excessive heat in the room with no possibility to regulate it, uncomfortable mattress and scarce ameties, the staff are correct but they are more.
For a modern hotel they really need to sort out the basics. Rooms were OK but breakfast was appalling. Cold bacon and eggs and when I Pointed this out they put some fried eggs into the cold warmer. They just turned the warmer up on the bacon. Food poisoning waiting to happen. Staff didn't seem bothered. Wifi - they would be better off not having it than having something so poor it is unusable in any part of the hotel it is so slow and the longest password ever to get into it. The el Cortes over the road and the bar round the corner both have 30mb plus wifi so it is simply a choice of the hotel who again are clearly not bothered. I would choose to stay elsewhere if I came to Leon again
Comfortable accomodation outside the city centre of Leon. Staff helpful. Breakfast satisfactory. A bit of a walk into the city centre but interesting surroundings including a major department store and local parks and bars. Probably would not return.
The hotel is quite old, the rooms are shabby and smelling really bad! No view from the room! Carpets are very dirty. Maybe a long time ago it was a good 4 stars hotel but now it's not worth even 3! I had a dinner included and the quality of food was awful, the glasses were dirty, I asked to change! The same bad was the service! I can't believe that this is Silken! Will never come back!
The hotel was absolutely okay. But I didn't like it 100%. My room was dark. Although it was a non-smoking room it smelled slightly like a smoking room. But it was clean. The staff wasn't pretty friendly, they were just okay. The breakfast was good though. (Compared to usual Spanish breakfast) I would only book it again if I got a really good offer. It's a 4 star hotel which is well located.
The hotel is comfortable, well located, seems safe, and depending on which room you get, the beds are nice or too bent already. Either way, wifi overall sucks really bad.... The reception in all rooms (and I have already been in 3 different rooms at different times) sucks really bad. Even if you go downstairs to the cafeteria the wifi is not that good. Don't expect to have a smooth skype call without the image freezing every once in a while or even load a video, reception in the rooms is very weak and all of this experience is even with a premium wifi key, because they have two kinds, normal and premium and they give you the normal. The premium apparently costs extra if you want one although they're usually kind enough to give it to you for free if you complain, but they should give it by default. Basically the normal wifi key is as powerful as a bus' wifi, the one that is only good for whatsapp. The premium is like the one you'd get in a restaurant or cafe. Good for navigating and maybe some facebooj videos or news but useless for streaming, gaming or skyping. Hence, shameful for a hotel. I wouldn't recommend staying here honestly
Located next to a Corte Ingles Mall and 10 min walking distance from the downtown, Silken is a good option. I've been for one night and the room was simple and clean with everything you need for a good sleep. If you are a smoker irs a great option. The only problem: wifi was not so good and sometimes with no connection.
