we stayed in the apartment in late August 2019. As others have stated, the complaints sent to the company were not only ignored, but we were accused of lying. We experienced toxic fumes which emanated from the bathroom - we couldn't close the bathroom door after water was on the floor, which seemed to release additional fumes. The strong chemical fumes made us retch on the last day as they increased over time. As we packed up, we discovered that bathroom water had leaked through the wall, through a standing wardrobe and into the next room - the bedroom -- and all over our case and belongings. It was disgusting. There are many other things to complain about such as the fact that we paid for a 4 person space but were given a two-person space, rips in the furniture, radiators literally hanging off the wall etc. We are not complaining about the incredible street noise which was annoying but reasonable on a main road. We were only in town for 3 days to visit family from the U.S. This ruined our stay - and management accused us of lying. No integrity, toxic to dangerous levels. Please stay anywhere but here - Dr. E.
Booked a room for 3 a while ago, prior to a lot of the negative reviews appearing on here. After seeing what others had to say I was quite worried about our stay... Fortunately we were pleasently surprised. Excellent central location, easily walkable from the shops and train station. We had one bedroomed apartment which had plenty of space for the three of us and a well equipped kitchen. Staff were friendly and had no problems with check in. Beds comfy. The finish was a bit basic but room perfectly clean and habitable. Really good value for money, would happily go back if we need a room in Leicester again.
After reading these reviews I am slightly disappointed, I’ve recently joined the Showcase Apartments team and my main priority is to deal with the following... Customer support, complaints and most of all improving standards!! I am very positive and dedicated to turn these reviews around. We are making changes daily and I still feel that we can offer you an enjoyable stay. We are on a busy main road and although it can be noisy at times due to the main hospital route, this is a fantastic location for all to enjoy the attractions and nightlife Leicester can offer. If you are looking at staying with us please feel free to email email@example.com We can offer great rates and put any doubt in your mind to rest. From all at Showcase Apartments we look forward to you staying with us.
I could post here the full complaint that I sent to the company following my stay but I doubt most people would read all of it. In summary, grubby building, "car park" was basically dump your car where you can - in my case the car ended up with £1000 worth of damage. Met in hallway with a man with a card scanner to take deposit, rubbish bags in lift, room smelt of smoke, lacking in facilities and cleanliness, loud music, arguing and shouting all night and morning (after a couple of hours sleep we packed up and left around 6am following what sounded like a fight breaking out in the car park below.) I would have changed my mind to stay here if we were not running late to a show and had time to go across the road to premier inn! All I can say is do not have high expectations if you book. If you want to complain do it there and then as they seem to dismiss any issues once you have left the building and good luck getting any compensation/money back.
Clean, and spacious for two night stay. Nervous about staying after seeing reviews but couldn’t fault anything in my stay. Only problem is room gets to hot and no windows of how the place is laid out..
Myself and a friend stayed here for one night. The apartment was booked 2 weeks in advance. We arrived and try to park but the parking was full as I checked in last minute which is understandable. Other than that the apartment was clean well looked after, had everything in place. Cannot complain because for the price we paid it was fantastic. No complaints whatsoever.
I would like to start by saying the staff were exceptional, they could not do enough for us.My review takes a downturn when it comes to the quality of the apartment. There was no evidence of our booking even though I had verified two days before.A room was made available. As we entered a man was asking for reassurance that basic things could be provided. Another resident entered the office angrily expressing that her requests for basic items had not been provided, not a great first impression. The first thing that we noticed was the lack of air in the room and the smell of damp. We discovered this came from the bathroom. The toilet was leaking onto the floor, the flooring was buckling from the damp. There was mildew over the width of the floor. The shower was good but cramped and the door did not shut completely. The towels were freshly laundered but we were given one for us as a couple. There was one bottle of water to share. The window had a crack across it. The key fob we were given did not work, people inside refused to let us in, we had to wait until other residents came home to let us in.We slept surprisingly well considering the traffic noise and people shouting outside.I think if these things could be put right this could be a good budget venue.
Nothing like the photos, the place is an absolute dump. Very unsafe, and most definitely used as a cheap place for Eastern Europeans to stay. Noisy, smells of smoke, and generally an uneasy feeling as soon as you walk into what was once an office building. Didn't even stay the night, went and booked the Holiday Inn instead. Pathetic how they can ask for a £100 deposit upon arrival.
The apartments were fine and basic. I knew they would be from the price we paid. No reception, we were taken into a flat where I was nearly charged twice for the pre paid rooms. This meant that my deposit was taken as a sale and has not been returned. I am still fighting to get £300 back. Everytime I've spoken to a member of staff they have different cards and people associated with my booking. Constantly told they will call me back and process payment. Im just being fobbed off. Avoid avoid avoid! Pay the extra for an established/organised buisness.
We never leave a bad review, but this had to be an exception. We tried to get in contact with the staff before leaving a review, but no one was interested. We stayed for 2 nights in one of the apartments, and they didn't have any towels as stated on the site, so had to buy some. Hardly had any cutlery or dishes, so couldn't use the facilities. The chairs were unstable, where the seats weren't even attached to the legs, we made sure the kids never used them so they wouldn't fall off them. Beds were super uncomfortable, and had springs digging into your back all night, however this isn't the worst of it... ... We happened to stay next to the main door to the lifts which was a fire door and slammed all night so it kept you awake... The first night the fire alarm went off 3 times in 2 hours, tried to contact someone from the office and not a single person answered for 2 hours of continuous calling, other residents were also getting annoyed and confused with the lack of response. If that wasn't bad enough, second night there was a massive domestic outside our appointment door from 2am to 5am, there is no security in the building, and after fear of our lives the police had to get involved to control the situation, as they broke the communal lifts. We did not feel safe, and was not value for money. Please avoid this place for your own safety!
