Hotel was immaculate, most staff really friendly and Toby the manager was very helpful and would come and ask how things were. Food was good quality but some things in short supply. Main issue was that hotel generally but cold. Rooms had heating so were ok. Definitely recommend to stay again, good value.
We attended a 2 day conference. The facilities were ok but the restaurant left a lot to be desired. A vegetarian starter of puff pastry with an onion in its centre, garnished with a few orange slices. Chicken breast with mash and some sloppy vegetables of a similar beige colour. All very bland and unappealing. Quite courageous to think this would be acceptable.
Stayed for just one night but saw enough to know that I will stay here again if ever in Leicester. Free parking and plenty of spaces. Check in/out was swift and professional. Our room was quite small but adequate and extremely clean and tidy. The bed was large and comfy with good quality bedding. Iron and ironing board in the room which always impresses me as so few provide them as standard. Bathroom was immaculately clean and spacious and the shower was very powerful with no fluctuation in temperature. Breakfast was buffet style and nothing short of excellent. Varied, plentiful and good quality throughout, I left the dining area thoroughly satisfied. Absolutely no complaints about this place, outsranding!
Hotel was booked for business function at the Power Stadium. It is about 10 minutes away and in a mainly residential area, but easy to find and quite obvious that it is/was some kind of college. Ample car parking, easy registration and friendly staff. Nice clean and well appointed rooms. We used the bar which does not open till 5pm, it open and lacks atmosphere, but ok. Breakfast was very good (contrary to previous report), full English, cereals, toast, juices and hot drinks, again staff were there and very attentive and helpful. Early checkout 10am, which obviously relates to the business people it really caters for. Would definitely use this place again.
You really can’t beat this for value. The rooms are only 13m sq but have everything you need. New bathroom which was well laid out but lacked an opening window (the only reason this isn’t 5*) the whole site is beautifully clean and well presented. Breakfast was superb with a really wide choice of hot, cold, vegetarian and all good quality. It’s obvious it’s a repurposed building but it’s been done very well. Probably the best value hotel I’ve stayed in this year!
It’s a very quiet location. All rooms are modern and clean with everything you need. The bar area is a bit open and ‘sterile’ so not great as a cosy bar to drink in. Food is very good. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Std rooms are small, executive rooms are a much better size.
We stayed here as it was walking distance to de Montfort hall where we were attending a concert. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. The room was wonderfully clean and the bathroom very spacious. It exceeded expectations. Unfortunately the breakfast the following morning was in edible. Too greasy and slightly cold. No staff about to ask for fresh food. Real let down following a fabulous stay.
Stayed here for a meeting at Leicester university- who own the place and paid the bill! Very clean modern room and excellent breakfast You can eat on site but about fifteen minutes walk up queens road gives a range of places to eat- Halcyon has excellent pizzas and beef stir fry!
We had our wedding reception there in august. The facilities were excellent. The catering first class and the rooms exceptionally clean and comfortable. All of our guests were equally impressed. The building itself is an outstanding example of 60s architecture and was fully refurbished a couple of years ago. All around the building there are stylish pieces of furniture. The staff couldnt be more attentive and helpfull. Finally the grounds were great with lots of out door space and seating areas.
We stayed here back in May, we had never been to this hotel before so wasn't sure what to expect, but we were amazed with how lovely it was! The room was very modern, very spacious (we have two balcony's!) And had coffee and tea facilities! The bed was super comfy and the shower was amazing! Check in staff were very friendly and more than happy to help us even though we checked in at 1am after our event! The location was perfect! my booking process was so easy and the lady couldn't be more accomadating to our needs. We stayed for breakfast the next morning and the food was all freshly cooked, plenty of choice and staff were so attentive. We can't recommend this hotel enough- so much so I've just booked a conference here for my meeting, the booking for this was simple and they have made sure all my needs and my clients needs are met. Perfect customer service. Thank you! This hotel is definitely a little hidden gem!!
