Each summer we like to take our young grandkids away to a cottage for a week, and we have experienced many that look nothing like the listing as a result. Not the case at all with this stay. The fully stocked kitchen is truly fully stocked, and not with 1970's rusted out or broken dollar store junk either. The cottage was immaculate, the beds very comfortable (unheard of, I know), and the grounds landscaped beautifully. The one and only drawback (because I have a messed up hip) was the beachfront. The cottage is located on a sea cliff. Although there is a very wide, safe path gently zig-zagging down, it's not something I could manage with my hip and it's not something you would want to haul a kayak up and down. As I had two small children with me and an elderly dog, this is something I would have wanted to know in the listing. Then again, I probably wouldn't have made the booking and would have missed out on this fantastic cottage. Although swimming from the property is available, it just wasn't appropriate for our family. What I did find though is Seacliff public beach (dogs are allowed) complete with a fantastic Splash Park and playground a mere three minute drive away. It was wonderful, and shallow; perfect for little ones. The property being on that cliff definitely made the evenings spectacular though. Sitting by your bonfire, warm breeze off the lake keeping mosquitos away, fireflies all around. Absolutely loved our stay and will definitely book again.
