Lady Sage — 1890s Leadville Victorian with Two Kitchens
Summary:
Lady Sage is a restored 1890s Victorian home on West 7th Street in downtown Leadville, Colorado — less than one block from Harrison Avenue, the town's main commercial corridor. The home is configured as two separate living areas: an upstairs suite and a downstairs suite, each with its own full kitchen, full bathroom, living room, and washer/dryer — built around the way two families actually want to travel together.
The home sleeps up to 8 guests across three bedrooms (1 King + 2 Queens) plus a pullout sofa. In-floor heating runs throughout. The kitchens are both fully equipped with full-size appliances. Mountain views from multiple windows; a gas grill and patio seating outside.
Harrison Avenue is a 1-minute walk — every downtown restaurant, bar, gallery, and museum sits within 5 minutes on foot. Turquoise Lake is 12 minutes north. Ski Cooper is 25 minutes north. Copper Mountain is 25 minutes east. Mt. Elbert trailhead is 26 minutes south. Vail, Breckenridge, Keystone, and Beaver Creek are 30–50 minutes.
Parking is generous for a downtown Leadville home: one vehicle fits in front of the home and approximately four vehicles fit behind the home (with room for a camper or trailer). No air conditioning — not needed at 10,152 ft. Pet-free home. Managed by Traverse Hospitality. City of Leadville License #002472.
The Space:
Lady Sage is a restored 1890s Victorian home on West 7th Street in downtown Leadville, Colorado, configured as a two-level home where the upstairs and downstairs each function as a complete living area. Each level has its own full kitchen, full bathroom, living room with cable TV and DVD player, and washer/dryer — the design answer for two families traveling together or a multi-generational group that wants genuine separation while sharing one address.
The home sleeps up to 8 guests across three bedrooms (1 King + 2 Queens) with a pullout sofa as the eighth sleeper. In-floor heating runs throughout the home — noticeably warm on a Leadville winter morning. Both kitchens are fully equipped with full-size appliances: range, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and coffee maker. The two living rooms each have cable TV and DVD playback.
The patio holds a gas grill and outdoor seating with mountain views. Parking is generous for a downtown Leadville home: one vehicle fits in front of the home and approximately four vehicles fit behind — enough room for a camper or small trailer.
Harrison Avenue is a 1-minute walk. Every downtown restaurant, bar, gallery, and museum is within a 5-minute walk. No air conditioning — not needed at 10,152 ft. Pet-free home. Managed by Traverse Hospitality. City of Leadville License #002472.

No shared spaces. Self check-in via keypad. Door code, WiFi password, and a Leadville guidebook arrive by email before your stay.
The Neighborhood:
Lady Sage sits in downtown Leadville, Colorado, on West 7th Street — less than one block from Harrison Avenue, the town's main commercial corridor. Downtown Leadville is a preserved Victorian historic grid at 10,152 ft elevation, the highest incorporated city in North America.
Walkable downtown amenities within 5 minutes on foot: Periodic Brewing, High Mountain Pies, Treeline Kitchen, Silver Dollar Saloon (opened 1883), Melanzana (made-in-Leadville fleece), Delaware Hotel (1886), Tabor Opera House (1879), Leadville Colorado & Southern Railroad depot, the National Mining Hall of Fame and Museum, and dozens of galleries, coffee shops, and mining-history attractions.
Year-round outdoor access from the property: Mineral Belt Trail access points (short walk), Mt. Elbert (14,440 ft) and Mt. Massive (14,428 ft) trailheads (26 min south), Turquoise Lake (12 min north), Twin Lakes recreation area (~25 min south), Ski Cooper (25 min north on US-24), Copper Mountain (25 min east), Vail / Beaver Creek (45 min via I-70), and Independence Pass to Aspen (1.5–2 hr in summer only; pass closed November–May).
The Leadville Trail 100 Run and Leadville 100 MTB race routes run through the downtown grid.
Getting Around:
Lady Sage is a 1-minute walk to Harrison Avenue — most guests walk to dinner and walk home.
Getting to Leadville requires a vehicle — there is no regular public transit. Denver International Airport (DEN) is 2 hr 15 min via I-70 and US-24. Eagle County Airport (EGE) is 50 min via I-70. Colorado Springs is ~2 hr 45 min.
Parking: generous for a downtown Leadville home. 1 vehicle fits in front; approximately 4 additional vehicles fit behind the home — enough for a camper or small trailer. If your group has multiple cars or a tow rig, Lady Sage handles it.
Other Things to Note:
ALTITUDE: Downtown Leadville sits at 10,152 feet. Plan your first 24 hours easy: drink double your usual water, ease up on alcohol, and avoid heavy exertion the day you arrive. Symptoms of altitude sickness include headache, nausea, and shortness of breath. We cannot offer refunds for altitude sickness — if you're prone, consider travel insurance.
NO A/C: Nights in Leadville run 40s–50s even in July. Windows and cross-breezes handle daytime warmth. A/C is not installed and is not needed at this elevation. In-floor heating handles winter.
NO PETS: Lady Sage is a pet-free home.
TWO-LEVEL SEPARATION: The upstairs and downstairs function as separate living areas. If your group prefers one family per level, coordinate room assignments in advance. There is an interior connection between the two levels.
PARKING: Generous for a downtown Leadville property — 1 vehicle in front, up to 4 behind the home. Campers and trailers can fit behind the home.
CHECKOUT TIME: Checkout is 10:00 AM. This is earlier than some rentals — please plan departure accordingly.
QUIET HOURS: Leadville observes Quiet Hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Turning off exterior lights during those hours helps the neighborhood enjoy dark skies.
WILDLIFE: You're at elevation in the Rockies. Expect the occasional insect or small critter. We pest-treat regularly and ask that you keep doors closed.
LICENSE: City of Leadville License #002472.
ARRIVAL EMAIL: Look for our arrival email with a link to the digital guidebook — check your spam folder. The guidebook has your door code, WiFi password, and local tips.

We loved Lady Sage! The older home added to the charm of Leadville. The location made evening meals in town a breeze and we could walk anywhere when it wasn't raining. The 3 bedrooms were perfect for our family of 4, but this rental would also be big enough to host 2 families if necessary especially with the separate kitchen and laundry upstairs. If we return to Leadville, we will stay here again.

Perfect location
We had a wonderful week in Leadville / Ski Cooper. The house had everything we needed and was larger than we expected. We had 2 adults and five kids/teens, ranging from 11-16. Plenty of space and overall great experience. Will definitely book again!

Big home in great location
Perfect for my older father and i. He got the 1st floor and I took the 2nd. Nice clean home. In an excellent location. Beds are very firm so i recommend a foam cushion if you have back problems but comfortable in every other way. The heating system is in the walls. So, no thats not a ghost its the heat.
This is a beautiful home with very comfortable beds right in the middle of Leadville! The kitchen and living areas are very nice and the heated floors are great. We will stay here again for sure!
