We’ve stayed in Le Touquet a few times now as an overnight stop but this is the first time we have stayed at this hotel. Hotel was nice, rooms well presented and to a good standard. However the lack of air con is a serious issue in the summer as the rooms are far too hot to sleep properly. When we arrived as it was getting late we asked to eat in the restaurant and were told there was a BBQ that evening we could book in to but due to availability, they could only offer us a table in 15 mins time. We took it, put our bags away and went to the restaurant. It was only then we saw the price and cancelled the table - £113 for a BBQ for 2 adults and 2 kids under 10 is extortionate!! Reception cancelled for us and we went to Buffalo Grill up the road (very good). On checking out the next day we found we had been charged for the BBQ we booked and cancelled within 15 mins. It was removed from the bill and the reception staff were apologetic. It may have been an oversight but it coloured our stay. Breakfast was excellent.
Spent a couple of days at the French Opal Coast. Le Touquet is really nice and the hotel is located only 5 minutes from the city center in a very quiet area (lots of parking space). Overall the hotel is quite ok but our family room was really warm (no airco), ugly outside view and the carpet was full of stains. Breakfast (a lot to choose from) and restaurant were really good.
Couldn’t get into our hotel of choice so perhaps didn’t start right. Staff on the front desk & breakfast room lovely. We had room 328. No air conditioning, small room, clean but no heated towel in the bathroom. Small bed. So hot we needed to sleep with the window open but had to close it as outside this room are large flag poles which make a noise in the wind (I know how crazy this sounds but when the room is hot & you need air the last thing you need is an annoying noise). Breakfast choices good. Probably wouldn’t stay again.
Please note that as a Holiday Inn Club Member I submitted my comments to them directly. I wasn’t going to submit comments to them at all, but they sent me 3 emails requesting me to do so, and finally this morning I complied with their latest request. Unfortunately they decided to only print on their Holiday Inn IHG website the first few lines of my comment, totally eliminating the main body of comment. So as Holiday Inn / IHG have gone out of their way to mislead the public on their website by only printing the first few lines, I am providing it here to TripAdvisor. You compare what Holiday Inn / IHG put on their website (see photo) with what I submitted to them (below) . Again I wouldn’t have provided to TripAdvisor if Holiday Inn / IHG had been transparent with the publication of my feedback. You will see from the limited feedback I have provided in the past via TripAdvisor, that I only really report in a fair and honest way when I have been delighted with my experience. So here is what I sent to Holiday Inn / IHG this morning. Our room was exactly what we needed as a stop-off during a 1,300 km drive. Large, duplex room for 3 with a nice balcony. It’s probably my fault that I didn’t check if the hotel had air conditioning, being used to hotels of that Star Rating & Price, I wrongly assumed there would be air conditioning. When I realised there was no air conditioning. I looked for fans. There was one fan which was as effective as a chocolate fire guard- most people could more effectively cool someone by blowing on them than by using the fan provided. Given that the room was a duplex for 4 people, sleeping 2 per floor, even if the fan had been effective, it would also have needed magical powers to cool people over 2 floors. I went to the reception and asked for additional fans. The reception staff said that due to the unusually hot weather, fan demand by guests had been extremely hot ( ...”really Sherlock” )and they didn’t have one available. The reception staff said they would try to locate one and if so would place one in our room whilst we were out for dinner. When we returned, the ineffective fan was still a lonely fan of 1 in a room for 4 - even the fan had an air of Shame and sorrow about it. I returned to reception again to check that they just hadn’t forgotten - alas I got the same answer. In short the room was like sitting in a sauna, and as for sleep ? I can assure you, you would stand more chance of having dinner with Elvis than sleeping in that room. The 600km drive ahead of me the following day was hellish.
We visited this hotel for a family holiday and we must say we were very impressed. Great accommodation, food and service. We will be back as it a wonderful resort and the area is fantastic. Wish we had brought the golf clubs.
We visited Holiday inn Le Touquet for the weekend . Set in beautiful leafy surroundings ,Holiday inn looks very impressive. We had a pleasant stay at The Holiday Inn le Touquet-Paris-Plage, situated in lovely surroundings, a few minutes walk into the town. Staff are very friendly and helpful and breakfast was very good. Plenty of Parking. Over all a nice stay
Six of us stayed four days on a golf break in Le Touquet. The Holiday Inn provides a good basis for such a visit, being a relatively large hotel with comfortable rooms, good service, plenty of space, and all necessary facilities. There is a large comfortable bar which opens on to peaceful and quiet gardens. The hotel is reasonably priced and about 20 minutes walk from the town centre. Breakfast is limited but of good quality.
The hotel is located on the edge of the town in a beautifully quiet wooded area. It is about a 15 minute walk to the centre of town. There is plenty of parking available. The room was of a good size and well appointed, it also had a bath as well as a shower. I enjoyed using the swimming pool on a couple of occasions. The only slight negative was the complete lack of any English speaking channels on the TV. The staff were all very professional and pleasant, we really enjoyed our stay.
