If you are physically fit, enjoy lovely Swiss cows right outside your window, appreciate a splendid view of the mountains and Lauterbrunnen Valley, and very much appreciate a well stocked kitchen, over the top supplied atmospheric Swiss apartment and want to feel like you are in the most heavenly place on earth every minute of every day you are in residence, this is the place for you. Thank you to the owners for perfectly maintaining this apartment and actually sharing it with strangers. I would keep it all to myself if I owned it…it is that wonderful!

CHARGED £135 FOR A KEY THAT I RETURNED! The instructions to locate the apartment were not very clear, and it took us 1 hour in the evening darkness to find it. The apartment itself was OK, although the light didn't work in one of the bedrooms. We also had to deal with a few large cockroaches and spiders. Wi-fi coverage was poor. However, the real problem concerned our check-out - our flight was changed so we had to leave early on the Saturday morning, before the Interhome office opened. We popped into the office a few days before to ask how we could return our key and they said there was a drop-box outside. On the morning of our flight, I duly dropped the key as instructed. Later that day I got an email from Interhome to say the key hadn't been returned, and did I know where it was? I replied to say I'd dropped it off as instructed. On Monday, I got two emails from Interhome: one to say they'd now got the key, immediately followed by another to say they hadn't got it. I then found out that £134.99 had been taken from my credit card on the Saturday (before I'd had chance to reply to their first email). I sent them emails on Monday reiterating that the key had been returned, the time it was returned, and what I was wearing so they could find me on CCTV. No response. It feels like I've been robbed. I've complained to Interhome about this, but don't expect anything positive to come from it. I won't use Interhome again.

gepflegtes Mobiliar im Landhausstil, sauber, moderne Sanitärausstattung, sehr gute Betten, toller Westbalkon, sehr gute Ausstattung für Selbstversorger inkl. Kaffeefiltertüten, WLAN Die Filterkaffeemachine ist uralt und braucht ewig. Der Weg vom Bahnhof zur Unterkunft dauert ca.8min auf einem steilen Weg. Das sollte in der Beschreibung wegen des Gepäcks erwähnt werden.

This house is amazing with a million dollar view. House came stocked with all the essentials and would highly recommend. We booked this home with vrbo. Checked in with inter home once we arrived in Wengen. The only downside is this home needs better directions from the management company. Wengen has many homes and chalets this particular one was tricky to find.

As advertised

Stunning view of Lauterbrunen Valley and some nice mountain peaks. Separate toilet/ sink room from shower/bath/sink room which was nice. Comfortable beds and pillows. Small but efficient kitchen and very nice large dinning room and family room. Wrap around porch offering nice valley and mountain views has out door seating. Both bedrooms had large built in closets for clothes storage. Understand that there is a climb of 52 stone steps up to the chalet entrance from the street. We found no problem with this and were aware of this before our stay. Some reviews complained of the “hilly” nature of walking up to the town and train station as well as the walk up stairs to the chalet but again it is a trade off for being in a quiet part of Wengen yet a 10 minute walk to the train station. My wife and I are in our early 60s, in good physical shape, and had one backpack and daypack each as luggage. We understand you can get professional help with luggage transport if needed and if requested in advance of your stay. The WiFi is good in the family room but gets very spotty as you move back to the bedrooms. There is no clothes washing machine but they do have a clothes drying rack if you wash clothes on site and need to dry them. The photos for their listing seem quite accurate in representing the property.

Wir haben eine wunderbare Woche im Chalet Dreitannen verbracht. Die Wohnung und vor allem die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Super war auch der Skikeller im Sportgeschäft im Dorfzentrum. Kein Skischleppen und immer warme und trockene Schuhe am Morgen. Hier würden wir jederzeit wieder Ferien machen...

It is oh so lovely with grand views of surrounding Alps

Chalet Drei Tannen is a fabulous retreat, cozy and warm, furnished in Swiss Alpine decor. Dining area is wunderbar with knotty pine walls and ceiling, plus table, chairs and hutch to match. Kitchen has modern utensils, lots of glassware. We had trouble with the stove, but Isabella from Home Away came to get it working for us. The dishwasher and espresso coffee maker were never used. We couldn't figure them out, and instructions were in German! The living area has wood panels and an acoustic tile ceiling. There is lots of good seating, books to read, games to play. The chalet is in a difficult position—just 400 meters from the bahnhof. But the little road has some steep climbs. Once you arrive at the street address, there is a challenge of 56 (we counted) awkward steps up to the chalet. Not recommended for oldsters. At 82, I had much difficulty making the climb, especially with luggage. Because of the somewhat remote location, our group decided to make only one trip away per day. We used the local taxi a few times. Frau Wegmüller would take us the 400 meters for CHF 18 (about $20 American). We always used her service when moving luggage from and to the station. Views from the wrap-around veranda were fantastic. We looked down on Lauterbrunnen and Staubach Falls. We looked up at mountains that surrounded us. Oriental rugs covered wood floors. Most everything you could desire in a vacation rental was here. The Restaurant Bären, which we passed on our walks to the village, was our choice for dinner twice in our week here. The dining room has a window view of the Alps. The service was attentive and the food delicious. The Bären offers sumptious feasts. Out of 26 restaurants in Wengen, it was rated No. 1 by online TripAdvisor.
