Gorgeous little hotel, perfect spot to be based in Launceston next to Cataract Gorge and Trevallyn reserve. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Short stroll to city center, I look forward to bringing the family back in the future.
Just be aware there is a four lane highway beside this motel. We were aware the room had stairs but the steps were so squeaky and you couldn't walk quietly. I wouldn't want to be a room underneath as it would have been noisy.
Stayed in one of the apartments. Plenty of space. Comfortable and quality furniture. Clean and tidy. Well maintained. Central location to city centre; local restaurants and bars. Located adjacent to a small ‘theme park’ style entertainment centre. The main hotel building is gorgeous as is the associated bar/restaurant.
A very old building and decorated with so much character and authenticity. The rooms are all names which is kind of unique, the rooms are clean and spacious. With Breakfasts served in the room (A cold breakfast). The hotel is in a great location and within walking distance of the town, harbour and river. Worth a stay and the Kingsbridge Bar and restaurant next door is part of the hotel and worth going to.
Rooms have been half updated with decor / bathroom update. Beds are still 100 years old and blind doesn't block out any light. Heating is a radiant heater and colling is a pedal stool fan. We were told on check in that we could use our room key for a discount around Penny Royal. We only found this out when we checked out.
Our entire family stayed in the hotel and chose the adventure park package which gave us $80.00 voucher towards the park per room! The rooms were wonderful, clean with modern touches and very roomy showers. We will stay again!
Spent a comfortable night at this historic inn. At one time this place was a mill, and the decor is reminiscent of that. Heavy doors, beams on the ceiling, stone walls, you get the picture. Room was spacious, beds comfortable. Breakfast was packaged cereal, canned fruit. Not the most impressive. We were fortunate to have a ground-level room. Others in our group had to climb multiple stairs with luggage to get to their rooms. There is a pub attached to it for convenient eating at fairly reasonable prices.
Interesting old buildings for the rooms. We had a three bedroom apartment and a suite for a family of six. The rooms were very dark, the lighting is not great in the bedrooms. The on-site restaurant isn’t open during the week and the cafe which has pizza (just ok) closes the kitchen at 6:30. It was ok, beds were comfy and the place was spotless but we wouldn’t stay here again as it’s a bit theme park like and the recording for the boat ride comes on in the morning and the pump for the waterfall etc....
Travellers please ensure before you book that you are aware of where you room is located. If you have sore/bad joints or need to carry heavey or numerous bags alot of the rooms are stair access only and can be a long trek from unallocated car parking.
Meet at reception with a smile. Rooms and parking were very good. It was great value for a group to share the costs. Made our evening, that little more affordable. Possibly one more toilet in the three bedroom apartment..
