Stayed 25th March till 1st April in apartment 317, would have prefered a lower apartment but it was absolutely fine.Had stayed here last Easter and enjoyed it we came back this year, another great stay and amazing weather.
We have been going to the Montana for the last 6 years it is in a good location central to everything Ligia and staff make you feel at home nothing is too much trouble, and we have met some good friend who we have seen now for the last three years in Dec
Recently returned and generally enjoyed our stay. I concur with other visitors that the rooms are very outdated but are at least kept clean. I think we had 3/4 towel changes during our 1 week stay but no sheet changes that I could notice. We don't generally watch TV whilst away but I like to watch BBC world news in the mornings if it's available. It was available, as was ITV, but the reception was poor. Wi Fi is available and apart from a little difficulty initially connecting to it (I'm 70 after all!), it was fine even in the room - upper floor at end of the heated pool. Beds could be better but were adequate. Bedroom had black out shutters as well as heavy curtains. Bathroom and shower also good. Cooking facilities limited but hardly needed to use them. Plenty of cutlery and crockery for 2 people and adequate for 4. Air conditioning good though we hardly needed it. Didn't use the bar or restaurant which was mostly empty, probably because the range of food and drink plus prices, aren't competitive with the numerous restaurants and bars just a short walk away. There's also a Spar supermarket just 1/2 mins walk away if you want to buy your own food and drinks. There is of course a fridge in the room. There are two pools either side of the reception/bar building. As you approach from outside, the heated one is to the left. We found the temperature varied from being overly warm one day to being quite cool on another. I found it difficult to relax by the warm pool because there's a tallish structure containing either a pool filtration unit or something else, which was running most of the daytime and quite noisy - equivalent to a bus with it's engine running! The other pool is quiet and the water bearable after initial plunge! Most of the nightlife action takes place in and around the long esplanade - around 5-10 mins. walk away so, whilst we were there, night time was peacefully quiet. All in all, not too bad with cleanliness and night time quiet being in my top 5 wishes. .
Good location. Clean apartments. Lovely staff. Just returned from our third and not last visit. Only reason for 4 star is that the bar / food is very expensive. Club Atlantico just down the road is far cheaper.
We stayed for 2 weeks from 3rd March and really enjoyed our stay there. We were allocated room 115 which is a basement room down stairs which would not be to everyone's taste but no problem for us. The hotel is only 4 minutes from a large Spar Shop which has everything you need and only a few minutes more down to the main strip where there are numerous bars, shops and restaurants. The hotel bar is a wee bit pricey however the bar staff Annabel, Sally, Maria and Marcelo are superb. Well recommended !
Location: Fantastic - a short stroll from everything, and Spar just around the corner to stock up on the essentials. Reception: Very Friendly, open 8am - 11pm. You are given a key to open the gate if you stay out beyond 11pm. Room: Clean, tidy, spacious. Sofa bed in the living room = very uncomfortable so we had to use the seating as a bed on the floor and the wooden frame was very unstable. The Air-con did not work very well but as it was quite windy, leaving the door open for a few minutes worked just as well. Pool area = excellent, the heated pool was great for the kids, but we did not use the unheated pool. Bar = very expensive, there is a limited happy hour from 4pm-5pm but not on everything. No offers any other time. We did not eat there so could not comment on the food. Turn left, then right out of the hotel and you will find a lovely tapas bar (food = nice, bar man = miserable). The Wall Chinese restaurant very family friendly and great value for money. Do not go to the Mexican restaurant on the front it is awful the staff are miserable, spend your money elsewhere. Diamond Cocktail bar is brilliant, very family friendly and attentive and just opposite is a beautiful Italian restaurant Capri - you must try this place but make sure you book in advance.
We stayed here for 10 days at the beginning of March & we thought it was a lovely hotel! We had a pool facing room, although we would have been happy in any room. The staff were very friendly & helpful, pool was great too! The beds were comfortable, I rang beforehand to ask for the mattress toppers after reading the reviews here, & we had no problems. Only 3 issues: 1. Wi-Fi is a little temperamental. 2. Room service was every 2nd day, & the sheets weren't changed at all while we were there, & considering it was 21+ degrees every day that would've been appreciated a bit. 3. Lack of outlets, there was only 5 outlets in the whole apartment, 2 of which are right next to each other & if you're using a travel adapter it was a bit tricky to use both at once! But a lovely stay all in all :)
This was our second time staying at Montana and again we were not disappointed, I had emailed reception a couple of weeks and requested pool view on 2nd floor, again we were not disappointed we got the 3rd floor which was excellent and gets the sun all day, the shared balcony was not a problem as we never really seen the neighbours. The booking in process was very quick with a friendly receptionist. The pool area was very nice and everywhere was spotless. There was always plenty of sun loungers. The location of the apartments is great, there’s a spar at the end of the road for anything you need. When you walk down to the main strip you are straight We will definitely return here again.
Never been on self catering for over 30 years we were a little apprehensive. Montana was a fabulous welcome back to self catering. We were allocated a ground floor apartment from the lovely Annabel ( the rest of the staff are extremely friendly also) which proved to be ideal. Although a little dated the apartment was spotless and the balcony had the sun from mid morning until late evening. Needing a relaxing break this suited us no end allowing us an extremely relaxing time in the sun. The spar shop 5 mins away provided us with everything we needed although we had lunch several times in the Montana snack bar and were most impressed. The bar was slightly expensive but the war cry of ‘ happy hour’ made up for this. The Italian restaurant at the end of the road proved to be one of the best Italian meals we have eaten, excellant!! The Montana is only a short walk from the main strip. We have every intention of staying at the Montana in the future and would have no hesitation in recommending it to friends.
First visit to PDC and the Montana though I have been coming to Lanzarote for 25 years and usually stay in Costa Teguise but had to quickly rebook following Monarchs collapse. I was very impressed with the Montana, e mailed and requested a ground floor room by the adult pool and this was provided, room was clean and reasonably provided for SC, a few niggles, cooker hood did not work, bulb needed in one light but nothing to bother about, so didn’t mention. Bar, as previous posters have said is too expensive, happy hour brings it back to comparable places on the strip, saying that they did show all the football matches. Spar 100m was very good, sold prepackaged meat, steak, mince, chicken and most other things you could need. 5 minute walk to the strip, 25 mins to the old town so a good quiet location. All in all a really enjoyable stay and would recommend to anyone wishing to stay in PDC
