Super small hotel complex. All Staff there very good. Nice appartment with aircon for the summer and heating for the winter. Each pool has a different timings for sunbed reservation. While not ideal that's the way it is. Will be back in 2019 as cannot fault, small and friendly and an excellent location.
Would recommend this complex. Yes, it is dated, but its spotlessly clean and well maintained. We stayed for 8 days and had fresh towels every second day and a linen change once in the eight days. Montana Club is very well located. Only a few minutes to the strip but still in a nice quiet residential area. Spar just around the corner. We didn't eat in the bar so can't comment. We did have some beers there. Found drink quite expensive but staff were very polite & friendly. No problem with people reserving sun beds while we were there but it was September so there were plenty to go around! We stayed in a 2nd floor apartment overlooking the pool... shared balcony but it wasn't an issue. Would highly recommend Montana and would definitely return.
We stayed here early September in the top floor apartments behind the bar with a shared balcony. Luckily we weren't bothered by noise while we were there. We found the apartments to be basic but clean, the beds comfy enough & as long as there is a kettle I am happy! I was impressed by the 2000W hairdryer, which is more powerful than hotels usually provide! We didn't use the sunbeds or eat in the bar so I can't comment on those things but we did have a couple of drinks which were dearer than the local bars. The apartments were in a good location with plenty of on road parking nearby. We would definitely stay here again.
Stayed here for 10 days mid August 2 Ad and 1 child 10 years. Apartments are lovely, spacious, clean. We had a one bedroomed apartment on third floor, almost overlooking pool and overlooking a few private dwellings to the back. Quite complex even for August. Directly when you looked over balcony (shared) was the bar side door (staff entrance) but this is not busy and closes around 11pm. We only had one drink there, expensive even to Irish standards. We did not eat there so can't comment on that. Spar is less than 5 min walk to the right of the complex and has everything. Umbrellas have to be rented here at a cost of €15 per week and sunbed mats also have to be rented at a cost of €2 per day. Not required really as sunbeds are quite comfortable and they don't push them on you either. Umbrella is a necessity I think. The only real downside to these apartments is the reserving of the sunbeds. It is unbelievable. By 8am no beds available. We witnessed beds being reserved and never used all day. No one polices this and there was no lifeguard that we saw and we were poolside 8 of the 10 day days. The guys cleaning the pool area give the "nod" at about 7.40a.m. when they finished cleaning and its like a swarm of bees then to reserve the beds. Bring your alarm clock, the one thing you don't want to pack on holidays but if you want a sunbed..... This was our experience of the pool area that did not have a kiddie pool. There are two pools. Pool with no kiddie section is DEEP starts at 1.35 meters approximately and graduates to about 2.3 at the DEEEEP end. Happy hour from 4 to 5 two beers €3.37!! Irish channel in the Bar TV3 and ITV is the only english speaking channel we could find on the room TV which was ok. 10 min walk approx to main strip for loads of restaurants and to be fair they are all very good. Peking Duck all you can eat buffet for €7.95. Tex Mex Steakhouse across from the Lani Suites for amazing steaks and great prices (you have to try the TBone!!) We like to eat early (6.30/7pm) so we had no problem with getting seating in restaurants but by 8.30 there are queues. Pinnochos is also ok, not the best but food was edible. Mozzerella Pizzeria next to Spar down from Complex is lovely, but closed on Monday! We also returned to the El Dorado which is a 30 min walk quite close the Bisofera shopping centre as we stayed there last year for a meal, and it did not disappoint. Food is really lovely €14 for three course and there is steak on the kids menu for €6. We definitely will return to the Montana suites again as the location is quite central and the area is quite as its 10 mins off the strip up a side road. No hills on the walk to and from the Complex to the strip Oh, its only a 20 min walk to Rancho Texas and you can get a taxi back for €4. Rancho Texas is a must do in Lanzarote. Maid service every second day which was great and if you needed anything in between they were very obliging. HUGE plus they have air con which they do not charge for. Usual charge for the safety deposit box. Hope all this helps.
Just returned from 2 weeks at the Montana. We had booked pool view but on arrival were place in the middle storey of a three storey block directly behind the bar which obscured any view but the back of bar. We had noise from above and below normally guests would cant pick up chairs but scrape them across the floor at various times of the night! We also had a guy next to us who for one week would scream uncontrollably all night long as if he was being chased by lions or tigers!!! Think he must have had some sort of post traumatic disorder resulting in little sleep for us. Some of the other guests were moved after complaining! Although when all this was happening the Reception is shut at night.
Just returned from a fortnight holiday, ok rooms are basic but ours was very clean towels changed every other day, beds changed once a week, pool was clean as was the pool area, we found the staff very friendly, we ate a couple of times at the hotel food was good but a little pricey, drinks are more expensive but happy hour is ok for a couple of beers, my only gripe and it is only a small one is a couple of bottles of water and a little welcome pack in the room wouldn't go amiss, would defo book again, there's some wonderful restaurants near by especially trattoria only a few mins walk away some of the best food I've ever had also if you like live music try oreillys the chancers are the resident band and are very good and their Sunday dinners are a cracker x
ive been to the montana club suites a couple of times now and i think its a lovely place they have a pool bar that serve lovely meals and you get plenty on your plate the rooms are a bit basic self catering appartments but very clean there is a spar supermarket at the end of the road too so not far to carry your essentials they have 2 pools a heated pool with a shallow section for small children and on the other side of the pool bar another large pool the taxi fare to montana from airport is about 13 euros and the drivers are very good if you are serious about booking a holiday to lanzarote and dates come up for this place dont hesitate book it because next time you look at it it will be booked up im going lanzarote in nov17 and i looked for this place and i couldnt get in so had to book somewhere else
All staff have a very bad attitude towards their paying guests. The rooms are an absolute joke dated to 1980 the fridge is about the same age Luke warm, the place was falling apart pontins abroad springs to mind. The towels are a disgrace they smell like the staff have just pissed on them we had to go and buy towels to use in the dive. They say they have a TripAdvisor award hahahaha if TripAdvisor came out to see they would probably shut the place down.happy hour 4 til 5 but doesn't start until 4 30 haha all the usual tricks from this place never again and we will be putting it on Facebook and everywhere we can to keep ppl away from this place.very overpriced food and drinks, then was told we could keep the room for free for 2 extra hours but on last day tried to charge us 55 euro disgrace again do not waste your money here you have been warned!!!!!!
The location of these apartments is really good as the spar shop is a 2 minute walk and the strip is around a 10 minute walk where you'll find plenty or restaurants, shops and the beach. We stayed in room 117 which was quite disappointing as there is no view of the pool, just a view of the back of the bar building. I asked in an email, before we left the UK, if we could have a room with a view, I was told the staff would do their best, but then on arrival we were told pool view rooms were at extra cost. Why wasn't I told this then when I asked for a room with a pool view? Rooms are very basic and need updating. Rooms which really only accommodate 2 people with one bedroom, are booked out for 4 people. A sofa bed with a pull out bed below in the lounge/kitchen area, is not suitable for 2 people. The double bedroom has drawers and a double wardrobe which has to fit 4 people's clothes in, it's ridiculous. No wifi in the room. Lack of plug sockets in apartment. To use the toaster you have to unplug the tv or the kettle as there are so few plugs. No plug by the mirror in the bedroom, you have to use a plug across the room for hairdryer or straightners, which is useless when you can't see in the mirror. No hairdryers provided in apartments. The sunbed situation is a joke! There are posters all around the complex advising that sunbeds can't be reserved, although I watched the pool cleaner each morning, when he had done cleaning, give the nod, to many people waiting around the pool clutching towels, for them to reserve sunbeds!! Within a few minutes they are all taken and for most of the day, most reserved sunbeds are unused! Ridiculous that you have to pay for parasols. The bar is so overpriced it is usually quite empty. Why pay those prices when the spar shop at the end of the road is so much cheaper! No entertainment and not even music played around the pool throughout the day. Breakfast is ordered off a menu. There are things laid out to make you believe there is a buffet breakfast on offer although tea towels are covering all items. One lady taking orders for breakfast is lovely and friendly, the other is rude and has no idea how to smile. Male bar staff were lovely. Hard to find someone on reception most of the time as the bar staff are usually also covering reception. You have to vacate your room by 12.00 and leave your cases with many other people's in the bar area, it's not secure in any way and it's ridiculous! Pity about the apartments as the location is just right!!
Firstly, the appearance of the grounds and pools are clean & very well kept. The apartments are in need of an update and more storage need for 4 people! The maid was extremely nice & friendly, however we constantly needed to ask for more toilet paper & clean towels - change of bedding twice in 11 nights is not good. The bar is very expensive and a missed opportunity to entice you to use it, with lack of any entertainment even music. The reception staff very miserable (not the ones that work behind bar) who are lovely! Overall a good base, 5 mins from strip and spat at the end of road.
