From the time we arrived until the day we were due to go home the experience was great, this clearly led from the manager down as he seemed to be there every minute of the day , always someone around to attend to your needs, the complex was spotless the service was great , could not fault it, I would recommend booking as I will be booking as soon as I get home. I have been to lanzorote 12 time this is far the best hotel I have stayed in Well done to the manager and his team Sad to be leaving tomorrow Terry

We've just returned from a weekend break celebrating 2 family members birthdays. This was a stunning very modern hotel. Peaceful, chilled and relaxing. The staff were all brilliant. The rooms well maintained. The food (breakfast) very nice. Perfect location. Overall our stay was wonderful. Couldn't ask for more. Was also a lovely gesture the hotel giving birthday drinks and cake!! I would definitely recommend. I will be returning.

We returned from La Isla y el Mar just over a week ago, having had a very relaxing 10 night stay. The hotel is very modern, clean and aimed very much at the adult market, which suits us fine. Initially we had an Atlantic Suite which was in a quiet location but still close to all the amenities, but towards the end of our stay we upgraded to the Premium Suite with a jacuzzi on the terrace which was really beautiful, with a great concept and very well finished. We found breakfast to be of a high quality and were always greeted by all the staff with friendly attitudes and smiles, however they could maybe do with turning up the air conditioning as the sun was always fully on the restaurant window and it did get quite warm! We spent most days chilling out round the pool and roof terrace and always got a double daybed regardless of what time we went there. The pool bar was a wonderful asset and the drink quality superb, and in our opinion reasonably priced. We had lunch most days and enjoyed having a leisurely lunch with a glass of wine or two, and found the staff to be very accommodating and keen to please. We dined once in the A La Carte restaurant and our constructive criticism would be that the setting is beautiful but the restaurant is a massively under used resource as it could stand proud in any European city centre but it was deadly quiet every night. When we dined there was only one other table in and this is a shame. It is probably due to the fact that the menu is overly fussy, and includes some strange flavour combinations. I am all for fine dining but in order to make best use of this amazing space may be the menu needs simplifying. Lastly we want to mention the staff - Carmina, thank you for all your help and attention to detail, it made us feel welcome and important. Juan Carlos, we hope you enjoyed your family holiday, and thank you for the evening we sat on the outside terrace and drank Kir Royales and ate sushi, again really made our evening. Finally the hotels best resource - Joan,Christian, and Naomi we enjoyed the banter and you really made us laugh, but most of all thank you for the Brockmans! It is now a regular feature in our house.....

We stayed for five nights at the beginning of July in an Atlantic Suite. We had a lovely view out over the sea and the rest of the complex, the suite was superbly appointed and spacious with an enormous very comfortable bed This hotel fits the criteria for a boutique hotel very well with its personal service and stylish interior I cannot fault it. We had several phone calls from staff during to make sure everything was ok and any queries we had were dealt with efficiently. The hotel building with its grey volcanic stone walls and chrome features certainly stands out from the rest of the hotels in Peurto del Carmen for all the right reasons and with its elevated position above the town it is nicely situated for some of the more authentic restaurants to be found around the harbour away from the commercial seafront strip of the main town. If you wish to walk to the main town it is only a five minute walk where you can pick up all the trips and tours available for Lanzarote and fast food if that's what you want We spent some time in the chill out area by the pool and some time on the large balcony of our suite enjoying the views and the beautiful trees and shrubs in the gardens, all perfectly maintained. If you are going to Peurto del Carmen and like a hotel that is more five star than four I would recommend the La Isla yel Mar. In my opinion I am not sure why it isn't five star.

Wonderful 4 night stay at this amazing hotel. Quiet and tranquil and super relaxing. Nice big rooms with clean and modern interiors. Pool area is so comfortable with great views over the ocean. Steep hills outside hotel which gave a good leg workout! Nice choice of restaurants at the port and great mall in opposite direction with some good shopping especially Zara. Good choice of food at breakfast with attentive staff.

Just returned today from a week at this hotel. We had an Atlantic suite which was very large and decorated beautifully. Only stayed bed and breakfast but the food is impeccable. Had a couple of days when we couldn't get a sun lounger round the pool due to there only being about twenty. However found two in the chill out area just a few short steps away overlooking the sea. It is very quiet here and relaxing so do not go if your looking for anything more. Did not find Puerto Del Carmen very much to our taste so would not return.

Everything from check in to check out was tremendous, the hotel and our room was beautiful and had everything we were looking for. The pool area was very quiet and tranquil, probably not the type of hotel you are looking for if you want a lively pool atmosphere. Despite there being an influx of guests nearing the end of our stay, there was still a reasonable amount of sun beds and we never struggled to find a bed in the mornings. The breakfast buffet was large and had plenty of food and a great selection, staff were friendly and attentive in the restaurant. The cleaning staff were also very good and did a great job in keeping our room clean. There are some good amenities such as hair dryers, shower gel etc meaning you wouldn't have to take your own. The hotel is a 5/10 minute walk from the harbour and around 20 to the new town meaning that you can access a range of restaurants and bars with only a short walk. You can avoid the sharp hill by taking a set of stairs down a left hand side street, if the hill presents an issue for you. There was also a supermarket just around the corner from the hotel, you can buy any items for your lunch or as a snack from there. Overall, we couldn't recommend this hotel enough. The hotel had everything you could have wanted and the staff could not have been better. We will definitely be returning if we return to Lanzarote!

So where to start....mmmmm. So my partner and I booked this a week before going. We booked a Deluxe Suite because her 18 yr old daughter was coming and they had two bedrooms and a private jacuzzi. We decided to "risk" half board - I say "risk" because normally the buffets are a bit suspect at most hotels. And what a week. From the moment we arrived the service was impeccable. Not formal but just right. We arrived at 11am and our travel agent hadn't let them know our arrival time so the room wasn't ready. No problem - they stored our bags, gave us free Cava and we went to the pool. At the normal 2pm checkin time the duty manager came and found us, they had taken out bags to the room, and did the checkin beside the pool. The food all week was superb and we tend to be fussy. Fresh cooked breakfast and buffet with a selection to suit all nations. Happy smiley waiting staff. Great coffee. Free cava. Evening meals superb - loads of choice, well cooked, and reasonably priced wines. The whole place was spotless. They have a lot of chrome and glass and from 6am they had peope cleaning it all every day. Pool bar service was great - and good proper strength cocktails. The only issues are very small - the main bedroom could do with a couple of hooks and a full length mirror. Also we hadn't read the website properly and didn't realise the 2nd bedroom didn't have a door, although it was seperate. I mentioned this to the Assistant Manager Diego. He promised a solution by the afternoon. Within an hour he had offerred us two seperate rooms. Eventually we declined so they then went out and bought a screen. Never have I experienced such "nothing too much trouble" service. Paco the waiter was great, and so was Jose. Thanks guys. The massage and spa was really good. The beds were confortble. The AC worked and they didn't sting you for extra. Simlar with the room safe and the extensive fast wifi. A truly relaxing holiday - I hope they keep going as we will be back. Not suitable for kids (they'll take them but nothing too kid friendly) and the beach is a bit of a hike but 4euro taxi ride.

If you like busy resorts with entertainment and big pools - this hotel is not for you! Seeking a peaceful luxurious week in the sun we were not disappointed. From the moment we arrived the staff were so helpful and polite and the whole resort was immaculate. Our two bedroom suite was beautiful although we didn't know that one of the rooms didn't have a door, which for our teenage daughter was a little odd. At once we were offered two alternative rooms but we loved our position and hot tub which the others didn't have. Within hours a screen had been bought and put up in our suite so our daughter had more privacy. We hardly moved from the very comfortable loungers around the pool and looked forward to food each evening as the choice and standard of the buffet was fantastic. The restaurant is also worth a visit. When we were there it was mostly adults staying which made a huge difference to the general atmosphere of the whole place, although it is not an adult only resort. I think our experience would have been very different if there were families with younger kids. It's not a hotel geared to children and the pool area is very peaceful so people can rest. The spa is worth a visit although not very big! We stay in many luxury hotels around the world and can honest say our standards are high so the fact that we all said we would definitely go back is testament to how lovely this hotel is. If I was being really picky I would say: - pillows to soft - master bedroom needs a mirror and hooks - cocktails need some work - balcony loungers hard and uncomfortable

Find ourselves here for 2 weeks, due to our first holiday had to be changed last mine. It is goig tobea very long 2 weeks. The hotel is beautiful , suites are lovely, but ours has no view which makes it ather gloomy. There is no atmosphere whatsoever in the hotel , pipes music roun the pool might relief the starkness. As For the food , it is doubtless very good, impeccably presented but very limited. I have yet to find much for my taste. To be honest this beautiful hotel was a great let down. If I could change my holiday to 1 week I would . Very disappointed .
