Stayed here for a week - and that was enough. I realise that this is a budget hotel, but we still payed quite a lot for very little. Please note that I always do fair reviews and will try to give good points! However the room was not like any of the pictures on the website - it was dark and dreary - but most of all not clean. I can cope with the basic food that was served - which is why we always choose a hotel near a town so we can go out for the odd evening meal. It is a little repetitive but the chicken and pork were fab. As I say it is basic so if you want fancy food - don't book here. There is no air con (our fault for not realising). The main problem that I had was the fact that it was FILTHY. I spoke to reception as we had no toilet paper left and also mentioned that we hadn't had a cleaner after being there for 4 days. Still no cleaner so I used the spare towels to clean the floor with - lets see if they can get those clean! When the cleaner eventually arrived (the day before we were due to leave) she emptied the bins, took the dirty towels and left us with 2 clean towels - there was 3 of us. No mopping or wiping surfaces which were thick with dust. The outside wasn't any cleaner - the communal stairs had a plastic cup filled with fag ends which was there all week. The stairs looked like they hadn't been mopped in months. The shower constantly went from minus 6 degrees to almost boiling - and I mean constantly. The "entertainment" was shocking - they would be better doing nothing rather than for example, advertising a reptile night and just 2 blokes turn up with one snake and a iguana charging you 10 Euros for a photo!! All in all they either need more training for the cleaning staff and more staff. The bar staff were pleasant but none of the others hardly spoke to you especially the pool guy - he was beyond miserable and rude!! The one good thing - you don't have to get up at 6 am to reserve a sun lounger as you have to wait for grumpy to undo them all and that's just when he can be bothered - anywhere between 10 -10:30am! Not great but would be so easily improved.
Ok so I was nervous after reading reviews, arrived to find we seemingly have no booking a little investigation by Sergio all sorted out happy. The room was basic but clean happy enough. The pool was wonderful. The staff were always kind and courteous to myself and my daughter: Recommendations - we stayed in room 115, we were woken up around 6.30 every morning by workmen going in the cupboard directly outside our window! Bring understanding I thought there was something that needed switching on, the last morning there we are up early before the work men to see they come along open the cupboard to take a meter reading!!! Are you kidding me we had been woken up every single morning to read a sodding meter!!!!! Surely management should take consideration for their guests while planning these tasks, surely take them either later in the morning or at the end of the working day! I was fuming to find that is why we had been woken so early during our entire stay! We returned from our holiday exhausted, not relaxed and well rested as we had hoped for. Also breakfast opens 8.30 - the stairs leading to the restaurant seem to be mopped at 8.30 everyday making them very slippy, the lady was lovely however from a management point of view I would recommend these are mopped and given adequate time to dry to avoid accidents we almost slipped on several occasions. Food was basic breakfast being the best meal consistently good. Paella lacked flavour, meat was usually good, fish was pretty much always cold which was disappointing as it looked really nice. Pool toilets need mopping more regularly as they become an absolute health hazard through the day, slipped several times in there. Lifeguards waste of hotel money, my little one slipped in front of them and they didn't even blink an eye lid, no first aid was offered. I got ice from the bar and carried out first aid myself. However our last day a little bit of was out of his depth and drowning, the female lifeguard was chatting to the handbag sales man didn't even notice, Boby behind the bar started to run towards the pool as another guest dived in and rescued the boy: Boby returned to the bar, the boy was out the pool with his family a good 4 minutes before the lifeguard even knew anything had happened ended her conversation and casually strolled up to the lad and his family. She ought to be ashamed of herself, that lifeguard very almost had the death of a young boy on her conscience. My opinion have no life guards use the money to improve the entertainment. Gaston is lovely, there is a lot more he could do though, games for the kids in the evening would have gone down a treat. Even musical statues or musical bumps! Eagle show where there were no eagles two owls and a grumpy vulture! Absolute pants! Reptile show was not a show just here is a snake and I think an iguana no discussion on the animals at all. Bin them, get a singer and have some evening games for kids. Special thanks to Boby & Raul, always kind and happy to help. This place was good enough but a few tiny changes and it would have received higher than the three I have given it. Health and safety should be a priority, one chap fell down a flight of stairs where the stairs were wet! He alerted reception a sign was put up no effort to mop up the puddle formed on the top of the stairs. I would really like to hear these recommendations are followed through. A good holiday but could have been great. Massive thanks to the staff most were wonderful!
i stayed here in march with a friend on an all inclusive holiday. the apartments were musty smelling, the mattresses were years old we had to pay for the telly,hairdryer and kettle. the entertainment was very poor and the alcoholic drinks were like turps. i would not advise anyone to stay here it has to be the worst holiday i've been on.
Stayed here with two friends for one week. Good sized room and relatively clean but no air con and tv did not work. If you wanted a fan you had to pay for the week but we were only told this two days before we left. Some guests fed the local cats which meant we had 11 crying cats outside our room 90% of the time which wasn't great. Great pool size but opened late approx 10am because sun beds were locked up and there was barely any shade at all. Food was average and basic the restaurant was quite small and dark but hotel was near good options of bars and restaurants. Good night life along the strip and taxi cost 4/5 euros. A lot of lack of information from reception and didn't seem interested in any questions or complaints. Overall a good holiday but would choose a different hotel in future.
Good value for money , don't book a 3 star and expect 5 star simples😁😁! Thanks to the staff for arranging our room quickly as we arrived early and our daughter was feeling unwell ! Big shout out to the main man Bobby superstar barman and number 1 fisherman on the island😁😁
Just got back from lanzarote was worried as I read the reviews before I went but I have to say I shouldn't have been hotel was clean and staff friendly.i couldn't fault it really.the only thing is it's a long walk to the new town we got taxis as it was mostly uphill would stay here again
Booked last minute 4 night stay for myself and daughter. Hotel clean and rooms basic with no air-con. Food not brilliant so be prepared to eat out in the town. Pool area nice and no bed hogging, everyone has to wait for the chap to release the beds. Beds in bedrooms very uncomfortable and pillows like rocks so not the best. Shower not brilliant and we had a tap that wouldn't turn off. Wouldn't book to stay here again in this accommodation but Puerto del Carmen is very nice. Taxis not expensive approx €4.00 from here, worth it as very hilly.
Staff very friendly hotel is clean and tidy good entertainment nice pool....all round good hotel only downside was the food wasn't great but all in all for the money it's a nice hotel I'd stop there again no problem
So, we got to our hotel around 10pm at night after a long day of traveling. When we got to the hotel we were told that we had to go to another hotel for the night, immediately after reading all the other reviews I knew it was going to happen and it wasn't a good start to the holiday. However, there was a taxi there waiting to us which was already paid and in the morning we realized the complex we was staying in was apartments and not actually a hotel so we had to go back to our hotel at 9 as we were all inclusive. Again the taxi was paid for for us, I found this very helpful and I guess they did try to do their best in the situation. We then got our hotel room at 2pm that day however the hotel staff did try there best. When getting to the room it was okay. Average room I'd say. However to later discover that every morning we were being woken up by quite possibly the most awful thing we have ever smelt, every single day this was disgusting. Depsite this the hotel is okay and the staff are all friendly and extremely hard working. I enjoyed my time here never the less the issues it was a good holiday
We booked this hotel as we wanted a cheap and cheerful holiday. The room was clean and spacious and was very happy with it. The breakfast was the best meal. We ate out quite a few nights but because the hotel was so cheap It really wasn't an issue. The entertainment was pretty bad in my opinion. I would say this hotel is ideal for stag/ hen dos or a group of friends just looking for a great time. All I can really say is you get what you pay for. This hotel was a great base to explore Lanzarote but next time I would definitely spend abit more money booking a better hotel.
