It was a good experience at Disney Hollywood hotel. Shuttle bus to park and other hotels. Good Indian food. Room are spacious compared to Hong Kong standard. Can improve on indian food. Has some kids play area.
Hotel is really clean and comfortable. The staffs are really helpful. Very quiet place at night. Choice of food not much but big portion with quite expensive price. Free shuttle between Disneyland and hotel makes it very convenient to hang around. Children enjoyed very much.
While the hotel looks like a US hotel, it works differently so here are a few things to keep in mind and plan for when booking it. About the hotel: Dining is restricted at Hollywood with just 3 places - the main restaurant, the bar area and a ‘diner’ (in theory). No matter which one you chose, the food is expensive and of poor quality. The best breakfast option was the buffet breakfast where you can see Mickey of a morning. The best dinner option was the bar where the menu is better. Consider trying the other Disney hotels and be ready to spend more than you think on meals. It’s just part of doing Disney here, I’m afraid. We also found dining options limited and expensive in the park. 2 of our group caught the train to the next suburb to stock up on breakfast things, fruit, water and snacks which was a great idea as there is no shop in the hotel where you can buy these basics. Traveling as a family with little ones, consider bringing some favorites with you or travel into the next town to shop. The rooms are big and roomy, beds were comfy and linens good quality. The staff were very helpful. Yes there is a shuttle to the Disney park AND there is usually a queue so head to the shuttle early. The drive to the park is about 5-10mins so the hotels are NOT in the Disney park as they are in other Disney locations. This came as a surprise to us so we wanted to share that with you in case you were thinking you were ‘in the park’. Once you are dropped off at the park, there is a 15-20min walk to the park entry gates. There is a special entrance set aside for hotel guests to speed things up so buy your tickets online or at the hotel BEFORE going to the park - this speeds things up a lot. Pool area is great and we really appreciated it at the end of a long hot day in the park.
We stayed for 2 nights and it’s worth staying in a disney hotel compared to central HONGKONG hotel. So convenient cuz the shuttle to disneyland is free. Breakfast is included. Spread is okay. Dinner at the hotel is excellent though expensive. I will do this again next year cuz less stress getting a taxi going back to your hotel in HONGKONG hotels.
We come to Chef Mickey Restaurant to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. We take advantage of the hotel special offer: buy three get 1 free and silver magic card holder enjoys 10% off. After a day of busy activities in Disney Park, this restaurant is very convenient to gratify our hungry tummies. Staff is friendly and helpful. Food choices are also good enough. Desserts and self-served ice-cream areas are most appealing. Birthday girl has great time and do all of us!
Stayed at the Hollywood Hotel for 3 nights with kids in order to visit HK Disneyland. Very efficient and friendly bell and reception staff. Rooms are compact but adequate. Very clean. Nice pool with slide for the kids. The transport to and from the theme park and transit centre is well serviced with regular buses from the front of the hotel. Not the cheapest hotel in HK but a great treat for the kids.
The hotel is very clean and the staff is wonderful over all as far as the cleaning staff. The bell stand staff is excellent as well. The rooms are comfortable and the hotel is happy to accommodate with extra pillows etc. without any question. The pool was heated so that was very nice and we were overall very very happy with the hotel. The only negative thing is to even have a small serial it will cost you about seven US dollars. The food options are very very slim and there’s only a few places to eat that are all very very expensive. If you have a family of four and you all want to eat you were going to spend at least $100 USD minimum each meal most likely. Yes it’s Disney but the other Disney’s in the USA allow you to eat reasonably so you can stay and have a longer stay.
We travel with a child and my wife as a mild case of asthma so we are picky when it comes to cleanliness. This hotel ticked all the right boxes, the service was good and we just had a bad experience with the Lounge Bar, which I will address next once I can find it here in TripAdvisor, but had nothing to do with the hotel itself. I'm not giving it 5 stars because when we arrived (around 12pm) there was nowhere to eat but Hollywood and Dine restaurant and I asked for the noodles which were TERRIBLE, so if you are going to arrive at lunch time when the only place available is that one (everyone is in Disney, duh!) prepare yourself to be disappointed. Everything else, thumbs up! If you are coming from the MTR there is a free shuttle bus from Disneyland to the Hotel.
We visited and stayed at this hotel 10 yrs ago. We remember enjoying it - hence the return. Our booking was for 3 nights, me/husband/ 11 yr old daughter. Was very clean and very good service (English speaking which is helpful) 2 x Queen beds were only double beds - very hard (as is traditional in China) No luggage rack so you had to crawl around on floor to use suitcase. No room service available - only buffet (AUD$120) pp, for dinner or (AUD$55) pp for breakfast!!! Or a school cafeteria style restaurant that was confusing to order and again, crazy expensive (sandwich =AUD$12, spaghetti bolognese almost AUD$30) - we’re not talking luxury 5 star restaurant!!! Take 2 trains (go to Tsing Yi or Tung Chung) to get reasonably priced / better quality food and snacks. Whole experience including the Disneyland park was very underwhelming. Don’t stay longer than one nite. There are some great hotels in Kowloon - walking distance to great food and traditional HK experiences!
After a nightmare stay at the Regal Hong Kong, I made my way to Disney's Hollywood Hotel. On check in I was exhausted, emotional, homesick & completely shattered. I had caught an MTR from Causeway Bay all the way to Lantau with my 9 year lugging heavy bags with us. I thought about rescheduling my flight back to Sydney a day earlier but promised my daughter a stay here. It was a surprise plus I had already made a payment. I was met by a lovely & cheerful young man by the name of Matthew. He sensed I wasn't too happy & immediately asked if he could help with anything. His empathy, understanding & his professional but caring nature made all the difference. Check in was quick & efficient. We were checked in after waiting 5 minutes. We had room 6727 (I think) which overlooked the garden & courtyard area. Room was huge, clean, smell was beautiful, bathroom spotless & bed comfy. Room was cool & the air con was a welcome treat for the hot HK heat. We went out to check the resort & it is gorgeous. I wish I had of booked my stay the whole time we were in HK. Thank you Mathew for making our stay wonderful. I hope you are well rewarded for your wonderful customer service.
