Positives :- Location .. I liked room concept yet it is traditional one ..staff was nice Negatives :- Breakfast wasn't good Less variaties and pools was small but the private beach was ok and the water sports center is almost in the hotel
Very clean and green.Lot of trees and plants. The staff were very good.Hospitality is very good.Home of rest away from home.Never felt we are in a foreign country.Good activities. Swimming pools and beach watching too good.Very secured and safe campus.
lovely beach awesome vista 5 star location but hospitality leaves much to be desired food average enjoyed the local birds company at breakfast time Wish service better as this resort has a lot of potential warm greetings at breakfast , can do wonders kudos to security guard who collects breakfast vouchers he managed to brighten up the morning it's amazing how much a smile can brighten up the space once again location of this hotel ideal the beach so private trully 5 star beach resort however is a 3 star resort manager should mingle with guests and make his presence known not b a barfly
First, I wanted to express warmest excitement about the breakfast! That's simply awesome, for any European tourist, who is tired of same featureless spicy Asian food, the breakfast in this hotel will be a discovery! You have many options to choose from if you like me travel with a lot of kids who don't eat spicy food. Roti is especially incredible :-) We ate it till we are full! Another special feature of the hotel is salted swimming pool . Not sure whether they really put some sea water in it but the swimming there was much more nice that in usual, chlorine pools near the restaurant. And when these nasty jelly fishes attack you in the sea there is a very convenient place to hide! BTW way more new buildings are here ( you can spot these in hotel photos ), so you better book rooms there. Choose rooms at the second floor, this will save you from the smell of water, which I noticed in rooms at the first floor ( however even these rooms are okay ) The location is perfect for those, who love to relax at the sea. Nothing is around you : no nightlife, nothing noisy, Just you, Nature and sea. Very refreshing! Hotel is located straight at the beach, no need to walk there. But only ( minor ) negative thing is more related not to the hotel, but to local mucipality: they are too lazy to clean the beach. And hence you may want to be proactive and talk to the hotel management. These people are very efficient in communicating with municipality and we all the time got our beach cleaned right after we asked. The sea water quality is okay, this is not crystal clear water with lots of fishes like you will find somewhere in Pacific ocean or in Mediterranean sea. Nevertheless we found it acceptable for us ( even after living in Cyprus for 5 years before ). BTW another special thanks is for a management! They are very attentive and helpful. Definitely recommend for anyone and maybe we will return back some day.
We spent 4 nights at the resort and were extremely disappointed at the lack of service and quality of facilities for the price point. Our room was more than USD 200 per night and on check in, we had to take our luggage to our room! Usually at this price point, a porter takes your luggage to the room however it was self service for us. This is a beach resort and they had only 3 sun umbrellas and the beds at the pool looked like they were bitten by rats. The property was in dilapidated condition and it looked like there has been no investment in the facilities. Third, bed sheets had blood stains and we had to send them back three times to get sheets that were stain free. Fourth, after a day of being out and about, we returned to find that the fridge had been turned off and out water and drinks were not chilled. Then they had the audacity to charge for ice! The worst aspect is that the operational manager was quite indifferent. He told us that it is a matter of opinion. His subordinates who were Malaysians were sympathetic but the expat manager clearly is unqualified for the job as he doesn't have eye for details or quality of service that is commensurate for this price point.
We stayed here for one night but wished had stayed longer. The place is right at the beach and also has a nice pool. The rooms are spacious and offer great view. We didn't have food here as there was an Indian restaurant right outside the resort. The place is close to Cenang beach and you can reach there by walking for 10 minutes.
The stuff was very helpful we enjoyed every moment at the resort everything was perfect exept the toilets inside the room .. but the tour planning agency's agent was very agressive she is not able to deal with customers she don't even know how to talk with the customers.
Amazing place. Has an amazing view, neat and clean beach with white sand. The resort has the heart of nature. All pure with hospitality at its best. The rooms are clean and rooms service and house keeping is gr8t. We had a really nice time. And yes, the people of langkawi are kind, helpful and respectful. I simply love it.
The resort is a spread out villa style with both a salt water and chlorine pools. If that isn't enough options just walk across the grass to 400 m of beach frontage and dip into the warm sea. Rooms are of generous size with both twin couch and writing desk. TV reception can be a bit off but wifi great. Both air conditioner and overhead fan and bathroom are excellent. No mini bar but fresh water, coffee and tea supplied free. All you need to do is unzip the suitcase and relax. Great stay - plenty of friendly staff on hand if needed.
It was a last minute decision to travel to Langkawi for a getaway during super peak season (Raya break); thus my usual place to stay was already fully booked months in advance. I told myself, heck splurge a little and Frangipani was the last few decent hotels left available. I honestly feel the room rates are a wee bit too high for the condition of its property. I booked the cheapest room which is the deluxe room where you may (or may not) have a choice whether to choose the upstairs unit or a ground floor unit (the recep had kindly asked so I chose the ground floor). Long story short, it was a nightmare flying into LGK via MH. Flight was delayed as we were told the aircraft is "overweight" and to have landed without our baggage unbeknownst to us passengers. I called the hotel to enquire about my situation and the staff was very helpful and assuring me that it is rather common and they will be able to receive me at that hour despite it being too early for check in. So I grabbed a cab and headed to Frangipani without my luggage, gloomy as its weather. When I arrived, I was greeted warmly by the recep staff, I've forgotten his name unfortunately. I explained my current situation to him and he assured me not to worry, they will take note of my delayed luggage and kept a copy of my report made with MH ground office. He kindly checked me in although it was only 10am and for that I'm so grateful as I was tired and stressed out from the MH rubbish. There is welcome drink & daily breakfast included in the rate that I've paid for. Room is huge, I was shown to my room by another staff, she explained briefly on certain stuffs about the room and hotel. Back to my poor luggage, I took the chance to take a walk around the resort and when I was heading back to my room in the evening, I saw the concierge lugging my baggage and smiling. They have ensured my baggage is reunited with me safe and sound. The concierge carried it all the way into my room and placed it on the luggage stand, I was delirious at that point. Room is old, but huge. It's cosy, the bed is actually two super single combined as a king. Mattress is good, pillow is good. I actually slept really well every night although my room is the closest to the lobby. The room has all the amenities expected and more. There are robes, umbrella, aerosol bug spray, slippers provided. Minibar, TV with decent channels, tea making facilities, toiletries, 4 bottles of mineral bottles replenished daily. On my first day, there isn't hot water from the shower thus I called recep to send someone to check. Within 5 mins the maintenance showed up and assisted. Everything was resolved promptly and I'm impressed. The resort is fairly large, with its sort of own private beach. There are 2 swimming pools, one salt water and another chlorine, plus 2 jacuzzis. Sundeck chairs are aplenty all around the estate, beach towel can be obtained at the pool area. The breakfast buffet spread is decent, a mixture of typical Western fare (hash browns/sausages/pancakes) with some local cuisine thrown into the mix (nasi lemak/mee goreng/chicken curry/rendang); there is also an egg counter, cheese counter, fresh fruits counter, salads, breads, cereals and a variety of juices available. Nothing fancy but sufficient for me to kickstart my day. The wait staffs are always warm and friendly, despite them having to work on Raya. I did not hangout at their beach bar except for an order of a mug of Tiger by the beach when I was chilling. I do not how the food quality is too as I will usually walk out to the main stretch of Cenang for my meals. They do provide room service, that I know. I'm not too sure on the reliability of its wifi provided since I use my own mobile data. I did use the gym, and it was quite a sorry sight. The equipment are dirty, but treadmill is functional. What was a great touch is the little table at the corner that has face towels and bottles of mineral water provided, I'm impressed. I hope the management will try a little harder in upgrading its gym, there isn't a need for more equipment but to take better care of the existing ones, repaint the place, freshen the place up. It look so abandoned..and neglected. The beach stretch is awesome, though I've expected the shore to be much further away from the beach, it isn't. So, if you wish to get more sun exposure and prefer lying down on the beach itself, be warned as the waves could easily creep up on you. The sunset view is beautiful, you get a good view of it provided weather cooperates. My flight out was a really early one, so I called reception the night before to book a cab to the airport. I was promptly notified on the extra surcharge due to the ungodly hour booking. I appreciated the gesture because nobody likes nasty surprises, especially not on holidays. And without me asking, he has also kindly asked if I would like to have breakfast packed for me since I will be missing my buffet breakfast on the day I check out. It was the same helpful efficient guy who checked me in and will also the one to check me out the next morning. The check out went without a hitch, my cab arrived on time and my breakfast on the go was handed to me in a brown paper bag (consisting of croissant, banana, muffin etc). It might not be the tastiest, but the thought and gesture made it the best thing ever. In conclusion, this resort is charming, with its wonderful staffs as its main strength I'd say. I've not come across any unpleasant staff throughout my stay. Everywhere I went, I was greeted by pleasant and helpful staffs, had lovely conversations with some.. I do hope the rates will be lower, OR to have the resort refurbished and upgraded in some ways to justify the rather steep rates. It has so much potential to beat those international five star hotel chains honestly. It has a warm, homely feel as compared to those cold, pretentious properties. And I hope the owner knew of this and work on it harder to bring Frangipani to its glorious charm. The hotel is located at a perfect location (for me), Pantai Tengah. It's a 10 mins walk to Pantai Cenang where the Underwater World, McD, duty free zone supermarket, Red Tomato, Sunset Beach resort are located. It was a pleasant stay despite the unpleasant experiences MH has contributed on this holiday. Thank you, Frangipani!
