Spent 3 nights recently at this very nice resort on Pantai Tengah beach. The resort is right on the beach and very picturesque. We took the Garden villa which was pretty spacious for 2. The breakfast location was awesome and the food was good, just wish they had more options for vegetarians. There is a nice Indian restaurant within walking distance. They have a saltwater pool as well. Overall a very beautiful resort. However mosquitoes can be a problem in the evenings so carry repellant. I felt the aircons were not powerful enough for the size of the room. All in definitely a resort worth staying in.
This beautiful hotel is on the beach. Hotel is surrounded by lots of trees and natural beauties. Lots of tree with full of fruits and birds. Very pleasant to see. We stayed near the reception area ( deluxe room, probably room no 109) upper floor. So accessing the pool, dining area , beach and getting out of the hotel everything was easier. But lots of sounds as hotel maintenance/ storage rooms were behind our room. Also it is a bit difficult to use the stairs with your shopping and baby stroller. But you will get more privacy. Room was big and old. Balcony with tree view was also good. Toilet fittings were old. Toilet seat cover was loose, we had to adjust that every time we used it. Sink's drainage was slow. And the Door lock.. every time we had hard time to unlock the door with the provided key. Private beach is clean and quiet. It is the Tengah beach. From this beach you can see the Cenang beach and beach activities. It has one kids pool, one adult pool and one Jacuzzi ( cold water due to tree shed). Another pool (salt pool) is at the other end of the hotel and far away from the reception area. Pool closing time was 8 pm which I found is too early. Buffet breakfast was OK. But lacks variety. Should increase the western selection. We had to have dinner a number of times there. Food was not much tasty but very pricey (may be for the star level of the hotel). Hotel has tour service. But over priced. So take tours from outside. We got it at half of the price (with the same company) that the hotel offered. Staffs were very good. Room service was also good. They provided 4 small bottles of complementary water in room. ~20/25 minutes walk to the Cenang area. There are some restaurants near by. We didn't try those. In langkawi it is best idea to hire car from jetty area (cheap and car collection is huge) Will I stay here again? Yes! I think I will consider staying here.
This hotel is in a great position, right on the beach. As we were there at the end of the season it wasn't too crowded. Breakfast was very good, we didn't eat other meals there as we preferred to try local street restaurants. Staff we very good. Room was clean, and I loved the outdoor shower, Be aware that there are a couple of very big hotels being built next door, the peaceful surrounding might disappear. Definitely, stay this side of the island as there's plenty to do
Pros: - Very quiet, with the villas well spaced from each other - Big rooms - Long stretch of private beach that is clean and quiet - 2 pools with ample deck chairs - Decent breakfast buffet (room for improvement for the Western selection) - Good service at the front desk - Eco-friendly resort Cons: - Room & room furnishings were really dated - Room was not clean when we checked in. The floor was dusty and sandy and there was a persistent cigarette smell in our room despite it being non-smoking. They put air freshener in it when we complained, but the smell lingered for the entire 4 days we were there. - Expensive for what you get - A full 20 min walk from the Cenang area. Hard to find food nearby
We booked this hotel the day before arrival as we'd had a bad experience at another island and decided to leave. We had flights to Langkawi but decided to change resorts as the one we booked in was another in the same chain as the poor one we'd left. Check in was really easy, and we were given a deluxe double upstairs looking out to the carpark. The room was really nice, very big and very clean. Breakfast was the usual, eggs, curries, fruit and breads, and the food from the restaurant was good too, we had lunch at the bar most days. There are plenty of sunbeds around both pools and shade if you need it. Staff are all very helpful and attentive and the grounds are kept very clean. This resort is a little old now but everything works and we were very comfortable. It is within easy walking distance of many bars and restaurants, where you can get a variety of foods and drinks. We hired a car so we could go and see some of the local attractions, such as the cable car and drive round the island. All in all we had a relaxing stay and would recommend to anyone wanting to visit Langkawi
The hotel is in a great location in Pantai Cenang Langkawi , set on its own beach front with garden surroundings . The staff are friendly and helpful . The only downside is that the decor is getting a bit tired but still a enjoyable 10 night stay
The photos lied too much. ^^ The room is really old and no window! Wow. I can only open balcony door if I need fresh air. The curtain is not black out curtain so I can't sleep late. T.T Aircondition... wow. It's really really not cool at all. They don't have remote control so I need to turn on and off. When I turned on aircondition, the room is not cool but getting dry. So when I wanted to turn off, I need to wake up and stand up and go to the wall and switch off. I did this for 4 nights. Really irritating. while staying, aircondition was broken and electric was shut down whole hotel. Worst part is breakfast. It's nightmare. Generally, resort provide fresh jam or nice quality jam. But they use strawberry colour jam. Colourful but tasty horrible. Bread was not fresh and crispy. Actually wet a bit. The rest food also so so or bad. I only enjoyed omelette. The staff are okay but not professional. They don't understand English well. Sun bed also very lousy. I really think they need renovation asap. It's really not 4 stars at all.
The Frangipani is very different to other hotels I have stayed. Check in was easy and helpful, I had emailed them beforehand to ask for room with balcony and sea view ! Yes we were given what I requested, room 135 overlooking salt water pool fantastic .i think it hadn't long been decorated as it was nice and clean , bathroom could do with gooD a lean but the shower was good a rain shower if you wanted it .Aircon was good but hot in bathroom and other little room could do with a fan in them . Breakfast was ok ! We like eggs and toast so all was fine , didn't like there coffee to strong . We were drinking Frangipani juice , was supposed to be good for a lot of ailments. We found all the staff were very helpful, didn't go in the sea as lots of jellyfish were stinging people so didn't chance it .beach is nice clean most of the time but we had a big storm and there is a river that goes into the sea and all weeds and mud came flooding into the sea , wouldn't go in as you don't know what was in that river ! .yuck ! Big mango trees , other fruit trees and lovely flowers, eagles flying overhead , monkeys come to eat the mango, fantastic birds come and go ,butterflies, these thing I don't think you would see anywhere. Very peaceful and quiet place . Thank you Frangipani 😀😀
friendly staff good food right on beach good size rooms restaurants and bars a short walk away.Only downside a lot of building work going on in resort.good beach warm water good for children.Beach is cut off from main beach area making it much less busy.
First time staying here. Was impressed by the service and facilities. Staff was polite, very accommodating and helpful. However what impressed me most was the location. Only a short walk away from shops, eateries and sights. The private beach was a welcoming feature. No crowds. And plenty of beach activities to enjoy. The premises are kid-friendly so perfect for families, groups and even a quiet getaway.
