I absolutely love this hotel! I have been to many hotels and never had such good service in my life. They suprised me on my birthday by decorating the room and bringing me a cake. The rooms were beautiful and the people so helpful and friendly. Breakfast had everything i could want and everything was made well and was delicious. The planters restaurant was wonderful. The staff were the shining light of this hotel.
There isn’t enough space within trip advisor to do justice to this hotel, but I will try; from the minute you check in and are greeted with a free shoulder massage until the moment you leave, the staff are impeccable. As you walk towards doors they’re opened for you, (we would run to try and beat the staff getting to them before us), if you ring for room service, they then call you back to tell you it’s on its way, and just 1 minute later there’s a knock at the door. The food is the best I have eaten and we tried all three restaurants within the hotel, and the spa is just wonderfully relaxing. The Rooms are huge and the bed’s Oh My soooo comfortable, I don’t think I’ve ever slept so well, the bath is more like a mini pool, (however I am only 5ft 2!!), but plenty of room for two. We stayed in a marina room with a wonderful balcony overlooking the marina. The whole place is impeccably clean and the pool is just the right temperature, with the pool staff offering snacks of ice cream and spring rolls for free, plus the lovely man coming round to clean your sun glasses!! It’s true luxury. All the staff were amazing and super attentive, with just a few to mention, Daisy and Choi in the lounge bar, Che Tom in housekeeping you’re wonderful and M.Dusha front of house who was full of advice on local things to do and remembered us each day. Having travelled in a few places around the world, this is truly one of the places I would return back to tomorrow. However, it will have to wait until next year, but we will be back FOR SURE.
Stayed here at end of October. It would be impossible to fault the service. The staff cannot do enough. Loved the way the guys around the pool brought round drinks and lollies throughout the day. The food in the two restaurants is amazing. So many highlights. We had a marina view room but that is a bit misleading tbh as although there is indeed a small marina, the main view is of a car park. The room itself was massive and had the biggest bath I've seen in a hotel room. The hotel is VERY quiet. I think there were probably only about 20 people staying which meant it was easy to get a sunbed around the pool and table at dinner but also evenings were rather subdued.
We have just spent 6 amazing days at The Danna. We had high expectations after investigating the reviews on Tripadvisor. I can confirm that indeed it is exactly as described and we experienced a fabulous week, The hotel staff are friendly and cannot do enough. Our tours ( Jet Ski tour a must and kayaking in the mangroves ) was arranged by them and even provided towels and cold water in bags. The food was excellent and after looking at the restuarants nearby we only ate at the hotel. We had the special deal of RG 90 per day toward food/spa and it worked out a good deal for what we got. At the pool we received free cold water, goodies to eat and even had our sun glasses cleaned. This is certainly a hotel that knows its business and provides 5 star treatment. Its also the first hotel we have entered where the WIFI is automatic and no need for logins and passwords - great for us older folk. I thus highly recommend this hotel.
My husband and I recently spent a week at the Danna Langkawi - a place of total relaxation and great service. Every member of the large hotel staff was very friendly and would take the time to smile and say hello, even if just passing. We got to meet everyone, from the concierge, wait staff, room cleaners to pool attendants and everyone was equally warm and friendly - not something you find in most large hotels! From arrival we felt very special, with cold drinks, cold towel and a shoulder massage - all before we were shown around the hotel on the way to our large and beautiful room, which was ready even though we had arrived 4 hours before check-in. The airline had lost my husband's luggage, which was not a good start to our brief holiday, but when it eventually turned up later in the day it was delivered to our room with a smile! The facilities were superb. Our room was spacious, with a balcony view of the mountains and sea, a great bathroom and everything you could want. The building itself was well designed and spacious and the billiard room, games room and library were a bonus. The internal courtyard was a great place to sit and read or just watch the occasional rain shower. I love to swim and the infinity pool (about 50m long) was one of the best pools I have ever seen or swum in. The whole pool area was well designed with plenty of lounge chairs, shade and great service - a never ending supply of water (essential), and complimentary snacks and juice in the afternoon. Happy hour was a delight - great very cheap cocktails, and the breakfasts catered for all tastes, even champagne! Coffee was great also! The spa offered a great range of options and the aromatherapy massage was very relaxing. We also booked a tour of the Geopark Mangroves through the front desk which was a great day out with other guests of the hotel. Although the Danna is a 20 minute drive from the main beach area, we did not feel the need to leave the hotel area as it offered everything we wanted or needed. As well as the 2 main restaurants at the Danna, the Marina next door offered other dining options. All in all, we had a great relaxing stay and are already planning a return trip within the next 2 years with family and friends. If you are travelling to Langkawi, you must stay at the Danna!
This was our first visit to the Island. We were picked up Hasle free at the airport as arranged by tour company. Our taxi driver was polite and friendly. On our arrival at the Danna we were greeted by smiling staff and were treated to a relaxing massage within few minutes of arriving. The size of our room was large plenty of space with a balcony overlooking Marina. Breakfast was first class with exceptional Table service from the staff. We swam in the biggest swimming pool you could imagine. There were plenty of sun beds both around the pool and on the beach. Evening entertainment was very limited, only a BBQ once a week.Main village /Town was a twenty minute Taxi Ride away. We had our evening meals down the Marina so we were limited. Overall fantastic staff lovely Hotel.
Probably the best hotel I have ever stayed in. I spent two nights here with my wife, youngest daughter and her husband. Our room was on the second floor with a balcony looking in on the internal courtyard. The room was spotlessly clean. We had a large ensuite with toilet, bath, shower and two basins. The shower was the best I have experienced in a hotel, it was super-powerful and had very stable temperature control. The towels were twice the size of normal bath towels. My daughter and husband had an identical room next door. We ate in The Planters restaurant, Straits and Co and had food from The Terrace beside the pool. The food was excellent in all cases. The breakfast in Planters is a very varied hot and cold buffet plus a daily egg menu cooked to order. What really made the visit special however was the quality of service from all the staff. Very helpful and always with a smile. I will definitely revisit this hotel if I am lucky enough to be back in this part of the world.
Impeccable service, spacious, airy, beautifully decorated, vast rooms, in the Merchant room which is the cheapest I assume, you live like a maharaja. All service quick and polite, kind and hearty, from the very start and so it went on. Me and my best pal I travel with said, we have to come back, the five days we spent on Danna was like a balm in your soul, we felt well rested, welcomed, excellent food, breakfast buffet was heavenly and you get a lot for money spent. Mountain bikes for free, close to cable car and Seven Wells waterfalls where we came to see our first Rhinoceros Hornbill, a majestic sight. A greater start to our stay in Malaysia, really a good choice. The beach, the pool, the Terrace, the Italian restaurant, excellent service, heavenly food, my friend back home signed I wish I could get some more of those rendangs.. And the staff is really THE staff, well trained, kind, alert, so fantastic and there is only superlatives to this place. I could have stayed all the month but the adventurer in me pulled me into the jungles of Borneo. This hotel is for the perfect honeymoon, pampering, meeting a secret or dear love, enjoy life and cherish life like I did with my best friend. I would love to meet here with my sister and brothers. Great experience!
If you’re looking for charm and wonderful smiling service and hospitality , this is the place to come. From the moment we were met at the airport it was one wonderful vacation till the end. We were honoured when the Manager Hafiz personally greeted us as we were returning guests. ( Hubby and I have never returned to the same hotel before but having had such a wonderful holiday 2 years ago at this hotel we knew we had to make an exception ). The Danna has so many pluses ( besides the friendly helpful nothing-is-too-much- trouble service ) :- :Wonderful spacious air conditioned 4 poster bedrooms with options for feather pillows and a small minibar fridge , very large balconies with 2-3 seater sofa and overhead fan ( we opted for Mariner rooms again ), huge bathrooms with the best most powerful rain shower ( I have ever used ), all the complimentary bath/ shower gels , shampoo , conditioner , toothbrush and toothpaste , comb, cotton buds , cotton face pads , body lotion , complimentary bottled still water in all the rooms ( as many as you need ), bucket of ice daily ( if you need ), :lovely restaurants The Terrace ( Italian ) and the Planters ( local and some international cuisine ), :large almost 50 metre infinity pool , separate children’s pool , hotel is on the private beach with a mesh-net around the private swimming area in the sea , and happy hours at the swimming pool ( most cocktails at half-price ) , 1 complimentary shot of juice and 1 complimentary tidbit around the pool area before happy hour , ample loungers with ample parasols , beach loungers with parasols or shelters :wonderful spa where I had such relaxing massages ( 1 hour of Traditional Malaysian Urut which is the hard massage ) and 1 hour of Balinese medium massage another day :and two happy hours at the Verandah lounge-bar :Small gym with a treadmill , some weights and a bike : it’s location near the marina which has a few eateries and bars : Uber is now up and running in Langkawi ( about MYR 25 from the hotel to the mangrove swamp tour’s jetty about 35-40 minutes drive ) , about MYR 10 to Cenang Beach which has more seafood and other restaurants and busy night life and roughly 20 minutes drive away : the superb bubbly breakfasts with the huge amount of food varieties to choose from local to Asian , continental to American whilst Emzak provides easy listening music from the grand piano We chose to return during the less busy season of October and for 8 blissful days it didn’t rain once ( except during the early hours of the morning ) and the pool area was generally peaceful and quieter. Many many thanks to Hafiz and to Redha and Ragil and Fuad ( restaurant manager ). It was particularly poignant to meet Redha and Ragil and Emzak again from two years ago .
Felt very welcomed and appreciated when staying here! The services rendered was way beyond expectation. Not even one staff did not smile to us. All the helps needed were professionally attended to. Thank you to all the friendly and helpful staff!
