Despite the fact that the staff were friendly and the room was a decent size it is not at all like the pictures in the booking site deliberately misleading potential guests. The rooms are incredibly shabby with tape on the cupboards and wardrobe, with noisy renovations. There was a pair of old shoes in the room when we arrived, no idea whose they were, so it had not been properly cleared. The bathroom is similar to what I imagine a prison bathroom to look like, it was at least 20 years old with paint that had peeled off the sink and there was rust on the metal door, something not allowed in the UK as it is a serious Health and Safety risk due to the potential for Tetanus. There is a large mosque across the road from the hotel which blasts out not just the standard call to prayer that you'd expect in an Islamic country, but long sermons lasting about an hour several times a day making it difficult to sleep, on holiday you don't necessarily appreciate the very loud 6 am wake up call and sermon. The wi-fi was awful and did not work most of the time. On top of all this the lift broke meaning a member of staff had to come let us down and up to our room and there was a 'mistake' in the booking system and a member of staff wanted to chuck us out even though I had paid for another night. The breakfast was bland and unsatisfying and made me feel ill afterwards, my boyfriend commented he had the worst sausage he'd ever had. The hotel felt almost completely empty, some of the floors were out of order. It's a shame as there's great potential there but management seem to be incapable of running a decent hotel or wanting to put in decent investment in trying to give guests a good experience. Spare yourself the trauma of this hotel and go somewhere else.
The most welcoming things for this hotel is their front office staff Mona,Zai and wani as well. They really know about the grooming standard. The hotel still need to focus on the room as well, they need to concern about the maintenance issues.
Shower head falling off, no toothpaste or toothbrush provided. Room smells. There isn't any replenish of toilet roll (left over by pervious guest). However, the waiter who served us breakfast is nice.
First and foremost it was a rundown hotel managed by unprofessional maybe all the staff including owner or higher level management need to attend basic hotel management course. The housekeeping staff is unfriendly(do not know how to greet guests).Food was very basic for breakfast and the chef who manage the egg corner were rude and do not understand simple English. Bathroom were rusty and not lit brightly.Swimming pool were another shocking experience,it can only cater for about 5 peeps no more. The size were so small for hotel of more than 100 rooms.Parking is limited and very narrow .The only thing good about this hotel is located near Kuah town.I strongly recommend not to booked this hotel if you have a choice, a total rundown and outdated hotel i would say.(not worth the rate paid)
The hotel is located along the main road close to Kuah Jetty - only good thing about the hotel. The jetty and Dataran Lang is a 5min drive or a 15min walk from the hotel. The first thing you will notice is a strange odour as you enter the lobby - smells like a dated, dilapidated building. We stayed in a superior room with a queen sized bed. The room was spacious. The bathroom was clean and the water pressure was quite good. Wifi was terrible although we barely used it since we were carrying a local number with data. Breakfast is from 0700 to 1000hrs and the spread is typically Asian. The food was good, not much selections though. The basement parking is a set-up from a horror movie. You can instead park in front of the lobby - about 12 slots. I would suggest Cenang as a better place for staying and avoid Kuah totally.
The hotel was in a great location, with easy access to a lot of activities and places to eat. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is undergoing renovations, but these did not affect our stay. The hotel room was basic, but it met all of our needs. It was exactly as we expected it to be. It was a budget stay. It met all of our needs as a base camp, with a hot shower, a comfy bed and a great location. Some have complained about the hotel - but seem to forget that it costs so little to stay here. It was evident that it is not a luxury resort from the price. It was however, convenient, clean and a friendly hotel.
Nice place, near beach, jetty, supermarket, parks. Easy access to town such as banks. Nice friendly staff, clean and new renovated room. Afternoon can enjoy the swimming pool. The staff know lots of place of interest. Breakfast got lots of varieties. Really no complain staying at this hotel.
We stayed in EAGLE Bay for two nights and had a wonderful experience. it's close to jetty point, so one doesnt have to go far. the hotel staff is wonderful, highly helpful and supportive. they would guide you, help you look for anything you want. rooms are nice and well maintained. we looked for vegetarian food and the hotel staff made sure we got what we wanted. highly recommend.
Good- Checking-in was fast coz there appeared to be no other patrons but me there. Tho I got a funny feeling when asked what I wd like to have for breakfast (menu given, just need to pick, which wasn't too bad except there wasn't a big spread of fancy choices). In the room love the fact that they install a ceiling fan, keeps the room airy. Despite my grunts at breakfast (refer below), the server gave me a wonderful service and the fried kueyteow I ordered was really good. Bad- Hints of repair works been done to the guestroom I was booked in were so obvious. Several scars were just left there as if as evidence of the great many services the room had done in the past. Too basic toilet amenities. Terrible wifi strength (never got to use it at all). When I came down for breakfast at a little past 7 a.m., I thot I got the timing wrong. Not only there wasn't a single patron in sight, there wasn't anybody.. not even the staff there. Went to make enquiries at the front office, nobody there! Hahaha by then I was feeling pretty scared already, thinking to myself : something happened in the middle of the night and everyone fled leaving me behind!!! Only after the third ring of the counter-bell did one staff appeared. By 8:15 a.m. I was still the only customer around. If business is really bad, wonder why they didn't bother upgrading me to their nicer rooms and give me a 1st class service since they are not busy at all (oh the front office girl who checked me in, never bothered smiling at all.. Maybe she thought I was one ugly traveller LOL!) Gosh.. Not gonna stay here anymore.
Returning to this hotel after 2 years, noticed lots of changes in terms of renovation. Nice and tidy room compare to 2 years back, importantly is cleaned. good wifi system and swimming pool. no disappointment will recommend to friends. Improve a lot since 2 years ago.
