Excellent pool, charming small group of gites, lovely walk to nearby village but few facilities there (although bread available from dispenser next to Mairie). Good boulangerie at le Thou a short drive away. We enjoyed exploring La Rochelle and going to the nearest beaches. Owners live on-site and were very helpful.

My wife and I have just had 6 nights at Le Pigeonnier. What a lovely place, location and hosts. The weather was very warm there but there is a beautiful large pool to cool off in which is fully enclosed by stone walls, so sheltered and private. Plenty of loungers too and a covered seating area at one end. Our hosts, Nigel and Suzanne keep it very clean and tidy. The gite is part of Nigel & Suzanne's home. They rent out the main house to large holidaying groups and live in a wing at the side. Le Pigeonnier is in a separate building to the other side sleeping 2 adults with room for two small children in a mezzanine area in the roof space. It is spacious, well equipped and nicely furnished, with everything you would need for a relaxing holiday. The walls are thick stone, so the gite is pleasantly cool despite the hot weather outside.Nigel and Suzanne are always on hand should a problem arise and their local knowledge and advice for places to visit was invaluable. That said, they are very respectful of their guests privacy and do not go in for surprise inspections etc.I would not hesitate to recommend this property.

Perfect charm and great host!

Second time staying here and I love it. Luckily I had time to spend with Nigel and Suzy this time and truly enjoyed our evening together. I have been coming to Charente-Maritime since the 80’s and love the laid back genuine character of the region and people. This area has grown to be a second home to me and my friends there my second family.

Ausgezeichnet.

Excellent base to explore this area

Oct/Nov 2018 - 10 days Property is in a quiet isolated position and is the perfect base to explore the surrounding area. Small but very cosy it has lots of rustic charm and is ideal for 2 persons. Only downside was the intermittent internet connection, if this is no worry to you then I would recommend this property as a welcoming and relaxing place to stay.

In der Küche alles vorhanden was man braucht.

Excellent winter break

Would definitely recommend a stay in the wonderful Pigeonnier, everything you need for a relaxing break with lots of little added extras that made the stay even more special. Nigel, Suzanne and their family cannot do enough for you and have plenty of local knowledge and recommendations if needed. The gite is ideally situated for lots of different interests that are within easy reach. The weather for the time of year with being in the micro climate was fantastic. We were fortunate enough to be their when there was a car rally on which was an amazing experience. Thank you again for making our holiday one to remember.
