we used the hotel for a day at Hamilton races. When we entered the postcode in the sat nav it did take some getting to through the one way system. Please note that you have to park at the retail park and that is simple to get to ( perhaps put the Next postcode in instead). Check in was very quick and easy. The room itself was very clean and the bed comfortable. The only problem was the heat in the room and if you opened the window that brought with it the noise from the motorway and people leaving the next door night club. Breakfast was has you would expect from the chain however it would have helped with timings if we had been warned about a coach load of Chinese children who would be having their breakfast at 9 before their coach left. We would definately use the hotel again.
Checked in late to break journey. Staff on reception very friendly and accommodating. Room comfortable and clean, newly refurbished. Fan, hairdryer and iron in room together with TV. Breakfast nice too. Good selection of cooked and cold options. Parking available next to hotel. Best thing was staff, all were helpful.
Typical of this type of hotel, clean and convenient. Where it was not quite as good as others was the breakfast. Yes it was self-service but the choice was limited. Note that the free parking is in the small shopping/entertainment area next to the hotel. You have to register your vehicle with the hotel in order not to receive a parking fine, however, when we first drove to this car park there are notices up saying that there is no overnight parking so we paid to park directly opposite the front of the hotel before checking in.
This hotel is in an ideal position for the motorway ,never having stayed with this chain before we were quite impressed the room had everything you needed with an iron and ironing board and hairdryer , and a nice shower room ,we found the staff very pleasant and the breakfasts were adequate for what we needed , ,,,there is a frankie and benny nearby for food at night
In terms of location it's really handy for the M74, plus it's on the edge of a retail park so there's a few restaurants to choose from, or you can easily walk into Hamilton; having said that, it's not exactly vibrant. Rooms are fairly spartan, but clean and comfortable, whilst the staff are friendly, but can take ages to get a drink at the bar if reception is busy.
Great warm welcome the best I have ever had on the road room very clean and tidy But like a travel lodge so uninspired Very comfortable with free parking ate at friends so no restaurant review Looking forward to breakfast Happy and content Colin
As the title says this was a return visit for a national bowling competition after a two year break. A party of 14 of us arrived and were promptly booked in and allocated our rooms with the minimum of fuss. Our room was comfortable and reasonably spacious considering that another bed had been made up, the mattress was firm and comfortable and external noise from a busy road junction was barely audible. As previously the staff were all friendly and helpful and one receptionist went out of her way to give me google map directions to the bowling club. The free parking is plentiful and the hotel is well situated for the shopping centre and restaurants. We had stayed in a comparable Premier Inn in Stirling South two weeks previously and HIEX Hamilton was £15 per person cheaper. My previous gripe about the breakfast still applies but there has been an improvement with the addition of bacon to the buffet and improved scrambled eggs but why, oh why can't they stretch to mushrooms and even fresh, uncooked tomatoes? Would I return? Yes and I'll even bring my own tomatoes!
Very well laid out hotel. Communal space is open and inviting. Staff were pleasent and helpfull. Room was comfortable and very clean. For my first visit at an Holiday Inn Express hotel this has made a good impression.
