Holiday Inn Express Hamilton3.0 out of 5.0

We stayed just one night. Our room was clean and comfortable. The staff we encountered were all friendly and helpful. The breakfast, which was included in the price, was self service and had hot and cold options and was absolutely fine.
First and foremost the staff at this hotel get 6 out of 5. I have never come across staff who treat you not only professionally but also as though you are their best friend. Absolutely faultless and a credit to the holiday inn Express. The hotel is clean, modern and value for money. The rooms are of good size, modern and spotless. My only fault was the breakfast (being vegetarian). Yes quorn sausages were offered, however were on request and took 25 mins to cook. That left only scrambled eggs which were over salty. Disappointed not to see grilled tomatoes, mushrooms and a cheese selection. I still give 5 out of 5 as even though my breakfast was poor, the kids loved the croissants and chocolate muffins. Overall a great hotel and a great stay. +++++
Just off the motorway, next to cinema and restaurants. Hotel is what it is and never had a bad stray. Annoying no plugs by the bed to charge phone/ mirror with plugs and annoyance like that. Desk staff are great.
I stayed here on business for 2 nights. The hotel is run by an affiliate of Holiday Inn Express. It sits on a roundabout with a small drop off lay-by right outside the front door. Those driving receive free parking in the retail park at the back of the hotel subject to tapping in your car registration on check in otherwise you only get 4 hours free. The hotel is within 3-5 minute walk of town with easy access to shops/retail parks etc. Hamilton Central station is 12-15 minute walk through the town centre. The hotel looks new with a bright reception area which has a business area with computer's, printer's etc. free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. There is a bar is immediately next to reception and forms part of an open plan area which also includes the restaurant. Free buffet breakfast is served here with scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, beans, fruit, porridge, toast and cereal. There is also a small to go area at reception for those in a rush. The room was the norm if you've been to typical chains, wardrobe with iron/ironing board, writing desk with 32 in TV. Double bed with choice of pillows and tea/coffee making facilities. There was no safe in the room although this was available in reception and no alarm clock (I took my own travel one). The room was tastefully decorated and looked recently re-furbished with blackout curtains. Shower only bathroom with toiletries provided (pump soap dispensers), view non descript from the 3rd floor of this 5 floored hotel overlooking the road although no noise from traffic kept me awake. The restaurant served minimal choice menu but as a retail park is right behind you, there is a Frankie & Bennie's, Nando's and other familiar fast food chains available within a 5 min walk. Very good hotel with the expected norms of a budget chain. Would stay again if in Hamilton.
My first stay in this Holiday Inn. It’s newer, better located and more comfortable than the alternate Holiday Inn express. It’s easy to find, there are a choice of reasonable (chain) eateries in walking distance and one decent (CAMRA beer guide) pub. Parking is easy - but remember to “log in” on Reception Desk to get free parking. Rooms were newish and comfortable. My only complaint would be the absence (in my room) of bedside charging points (lots in room but on opposite side, on desk). Recommended, I will use this hotel on my next trip to Hamilton area.
Easy to find , Lots of Parking, convenient, next to a retail park & supermarket, Easy drive to Glasgow and nearby places of attractions. Comfortable stay , relaxing. Good breakfast. Would definitely recommend
Earlier this year we stayed at the other HI in the area, one junction north on the M74 and it was OK. This was great. You are next door to a cinema, a selection of restaurants and less than a 5 minute walk to the town centre. Parking in the adjacent retail park car park was no issues at all. Room was really good for us, and the breakfast was also perfectly good (could possibly have done with more Nutella as my daughter really likes this!) Whilst this hotel is close to the M74 the noise is negligible. Would we stay here again as a family - absolutely. To be honest I would stay here on business as well.
Excellent location, very clean and comfortable hotel. Make sure you don’t park adjacent to the hotel and park in the shopping centre parking it’s free for hotel guests when you add your reg number at check in. Lovely breakfast and free paper lovely. Staff so very friendly ,
Friendly staff on reception which always makes for a good first impression, room was lovely and clean - bathroom sparkled! Good WiFi, whole hotel looked pristine and very well kept. Staff very accommodating and professional. On the downside our allocated room (108) the temp was set far too high, heater was located and switched off in the middle of the first night, both of us had an uncomfortable first night sleep due to the heat. Double bed was very small and situated far too close to the bathroom wall making getting out of bed awkward. Breakfast included was basic and what you would expect for the price paid for room. Would prefer to pay a bit more for a better choice of breakfast.
First of all I have to say that this review is based on the room I was allocated during my stay, which was on the first floor. I found the room to be very noisy, I live on a main road so I am used to some road noise. Here you are faced with the decision to open the window for some ventilation and fresh air or to close to completely to be able to hear the TV. The room was far too warm and stuffy without the window open. There is a fan provided but that just circulated warm air around. The main problem was a completely different noise altogether, I don’t know if it was the hotel’s heating or hot water system but sounded like someone using a pneumatic drill nearby, complete with the vibrating room! This went on every few minutes throughout the night and ear plugs did not dull the sound. The thought of a day’s work followed by a 6 hour drive home on no sleep was not a nice one. Had I have been staying for more than one night I would have been asking to move rooms. The room itself was ok, but I found the bathroom to be a little smelly. The breakfast is adequate although the choice limited. I did find the staff to be very friendly and helpful.
