Wonderful setting living on the mountain, ski in, ski out is the best plus wonderful staff and accomodations! We recommend this resort to all our family and friends, this year 28 of us enjoyed a wonderful week!
The outside areas such as stairs and walkways and roadways are a bit rough but this is older mountain country and the grounds do tend to shift with the continual freeze and thaw. The interiors and convenience more than make up for this and the convenience of being close to a chairlift are great. Super value for the value and fun!
Horsethief Lodge provides some of the older accomodations on the hill but has been maintained and renovated so they are in excellent condition and provide ski-out/ski-in ease but away from the crowds in the upper village. The gondola to the upper village provides ready access and the accomodations are only steps away the village store, hot tubs & sauna and even the outdoor bar-b-q. The fully equipped rooms provide the option of eating in or going out to take advantage of the excellent dining choices on hill. Park the car underground and forget about it while you enjoy a few days of skiing.
A wonderful resort that continues to improve its on hill services and grooming abilities. Pano is still a fast mountain but no longer the 'ice mountain'. Park your car and enjoy a great few days or weeks on the hill with everything in easy walking distance or ski out-ski in access. Huge variety of terrain from beginner slopes to the newly expanded Tayton bowl keeps everyone happy and challenged with the different regions of the mountain well connected and rarely requiring any long traverses. Definitely my go to resort!
Panorama ski hill is terrific and staying at the Panorama Vacation Retreat was perfect. The location is 2nd to none, walking access or the gondola to everything. Unit was exceptionally clean and quiet. Staff were friendly and so helpful! This was our first of many spectacular Panorama Vacation Retreat weekends to come!
Annual family ski week. Total of 14, Grand Parents, Children and grand kids. Ski in and out. Great activities. skiing. sledding, hot tubs. Grand kids have been in ski school for several years. 10, 11, and 12 year ages now skiing Taynton Bowl. Great family hill, most of our family make the annual trip from Vancouver Island..
Beautiful resort up in the mountains, once there, you park your car underground and don`t need it again! Access to the main lodge and ski area via small ski lift or gondola lift, just perfect. While I was there NO line-ups for the lifts.
We had a fantastic two weeks of snow. We snowshoed, cross-country skied and hiked around the property. If you were a downhill skier there are places to learn and extreme zones too. Take a dip into the hot tubs, relax and enjoy the views, meals, cook your own and enjoy.
We have stayed at this hill over the New Year for many years and it continues to improve in its efforts to be an accommodating, comfortable family hill. The Horsetheif accommodations are excellent ski in/out condos that are very clean and well maintained. Runs for beginner skiers and little ones right out the door and lifties are friendly and great at managing the lifts for new skiers. Lots of variety for average and better skiers throughout the hill and long runs with high speed chairs and short lift lines even in the busy seasons. Fun areas for little kids (Secret Forest Cabin) and Terrain Park for older ones. Great instructors and the kids in the lessons always seem to be having fun. We taught our kids to ski here and now helping to teach grandkids. Great, great family hill.
My family and I just returned home after a three night stay in a large unit. We had our own bedroom, my son slept on the hide-a-bed in the living room, and our daughters each had a twin bed up in the loft area. When we first arrived I was very disappointed in the ski locker (would absolutely not fit five sets of skis and boots) and the lack of elevator - we had to lug all our stuff (and two coolers of food) up three flights of stairs. Thankfully, the rest of our stay was excellent. This is the ideal location in the lower village as it is on the same level as the adorable (free) gondola up to the hill and upper village. Next time I would just request to be as far east in the building as possible, to further minimize the walk. Any further up the hill (say mid lower village) and we would have had to walk much further uphill after a long day on the slopes. I am not a super lazy person, I swear, but I prefer to not walk all over town in ski boots! The building was quiet, our unit had a wonderful set of kitchen utensils and whatnot. Everything was good that way. We came back to our place for lunch and supper each day (saved a bundle) except the one pizza order from the restaurant downstairs. I cannot recommend THAT to anyone; it was literally worse than Chuck E Cheese pizza, we had xl pizzas but only small pizza ingredients, I swear. The barest spread of toppings possible. I wish we'd just brought three dinners. There was free night skiing including in our lift tickets, and I enjoyed this with my son, while my husband and daughters enjoyed the upper pools. (There is a very small hot and sauna in the Horsethief building, but suitable for 5-7 ppl at most. There is a huge pool for summer visitors I think. So, not perfect, but I would 100% stay here again. Although simple, it was the best location in the lower village, and we thought the gondola was a hoot!
