Peppers Bluewater Resort

Found the room dissapointing. When we paid what we did for the room which we found expensive, you would expect a TV in the bedroom. We endeavor to stay at Peppers throughout NZ and Australia but found this experience dissapointing.

We were really looking forward to our stay but have to say we were very unimpressed with the room size. When you opened the door to enter the bed is right in front of you. We were on a snowboarding holiday so trying to dry clothes and store snowboards was a difficult task. We also had an airconditioning unit outside the room that was very noisy.

We were late arriving because of a flight delay, but we were welcomed with a big smile and the offer of a welcome drink, late check out and 2 breakfasts for the price of 1 for booking online. We loved our room was warm, heated floor and towel rail and the views of the lake and surrounding mountains was just amazing. Our first night ever in New Zealand was just magical. Thank you Peppers.

Our only minor issue there were insufficient English Breakfast tea bags (3) For 2 of us insufficient for evening tea and then breakfast. And no ordinary instant coffee. Excellent views and our meal also was excellent with very good service. Could not fault it.

Modern resort but with no pluses. Very basic amenities, noisy heat pumps, caters to many tour groups. Not relaxing or luxurious. Could be a fabulous resort but maintenance and service are lacking. Overpriced so spend your money elsewhere- or lower your expectations.

Beautiful room with stunning views. Very enjoyable stay with friendly staff. Would recommend to friends and family. We stayed one night. We received a lovely welcome card and food dish on arrival to our room which was already heated up for us.

Stayed at Peppers on the 8th of Aug. We actually specifically choose this accomodation because of the advertising and the fact that we thought that we were going to get an unrestricted view of the lake. We arrived at our family unit to find that one bedroom had no view and the other front room had a partial view, which once everyone parked was obscured anyway. So the dream of laying in bed with views of the lake were squashed and replaced with views of the back of others units, their air conditioning units and the cars of other guests. If we went to the top level we could see the lake between the buildings in front of us. The unit itself was a good size and had a lovely fire place. We were told that the restaurant was pretty much full for dinner. So we decided to buy dinner from the 4 square supermarket across the road, that has the best views in the world of any supermarket. Great fresh made pizzas that can be cooked in the unit. Back to the unit to cook dinner. Well I had to take photos because I could not believe the state of the oven, I am not sure that it has ever been cleaned. And to clean dishes all we had was a scrubbing brush that looked like it had been used a 1000 times. It was so disgusting that we actually didn't use it. Although there is a oven, there is very limited dishes trays etc to use to actually do your own cooking. We had to use the tray in the oven taking turns and so therefore couldn't all eat at the same time. Just really disappointed, considering the price paid. Thank God that we only had 1 night there. Because after driving around and having a look there were so many other options available, unfortunately we had pre paid, other wise we wouldn't have stayed.

The bed was very uncomfortable. The room is in need of a repaint. The furniture has seen better days and there was no remote for the two televisions. The buffet breakfast was alot better on the second morning of our stay. The lights on the path leading to the village need to be turned on at night as the stairs were rather dangerous in the dark.

Loved it here and had been recommend by a friend. Only down side was that our shower was luke warm at best for most of the stay. Bathroom has a heated floor which was lush! Bed comfy and big. Definitely pay more for a room with a view!

It is a lovely location with beautiful views. Easy to access the main tourist locations . It is suited to couples or family groups. The smaller rooms are quite small however very adequate and of a reasonable to high finish .There is not a lot of room if you have a lot of luggage
