When we drove up to the property my husband was very impressed by the rustic log home and beautiful grounds that greeted us. The host’s Tree/Skihouse had everything we needed for a family gathering of 4 adults and 4 kiddos. There were plenty of beds, bedding, and sleeping areas for all. The game room, actually a separate building, was a big hit with air hockey and ping-pong tournaments happening on the rainy days when we couldn’t get out Into the woods and explore. On the sunny days the kids played “fairies and wizards” for hours in the backyard treehouse playground and spacious yard. The fire pit was used for s’mores nearly every night, even when we had to use umbrellas, so thoughtful of the host, when a rain shower passed through! We found lots of places in nearby Wilmington with reasonably priced camp wood for sale. We also spent time at the nearby Wilmington swim beach where the kids had a blast in the water and on the sand. Not many places I know with a beach in the forest and mountains. The nearby Flume Falls were spectacular and free to access, unlike High Gorge Falls. My only suggestion would be to stock up on groceries and necessities before arriving. We really enjoyed this bit of paradise deep in the woods of the Adirondacks. Thank you for a memorable stay.
