Property was beautiful, well-equipped and tastefully furnished. Great location near Chimney Rock and other attractions. Note that the boat house and upper deck is no longer there due to the hurricane. Thanks steve!

End of Summer Trip

This was a great location for our 2024 summer family trip before the kids went back to school. House was exactly as described. Grills were a nice added feature for us to grill a few burgers after relaxing on the lake all day. The kids enjoyed kayaking and floating on the lake. Not too far from shops and restaurants. Also was able to see a mama bear and her cup in the road a few houses down.

Fantastic

Wonderful house right on the water, kayaks available for use, stocked kitchen, comfy beds. Decor a little weird and confused and lacking ottomans but otherwise perfect.

Good But Needs TLC

Great location and just needs some TLC. We had a bed with sheet stains and dirty handtowel hanging. Yonder was notified but could not get replacements to us until the next day. They have a "we will buy your dinner" if the property isn’t clean but that was not offered. Upstairs loft is to hot even with ceiling fan on high. Keeping the main floor comfortable caused the downstairs bedrooms to be to cold. Numerous light bulbs and the WiFi signal froze trying to stream TV which is how you watch. Spider webs everywhere in the outdoor areas, we just chose not to clean them and use. Boathouse nice, canoe and kayaks to use. Gas grills worked good with extra propane provided. Close to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure Marina.

Summer vacation

We had a wonderful week at Hickory Hideaway! The location was perfect with beautiful lake and mountain views. There was an abundance of floats, noodles, kayaks, and a canoe to choose from for lake fun in addition to a great swimming location. The house and kitchen were well stocked, comfy, and clean and the complimentary coffee and wine were a nice touch. We were sad to leave!

Nice property, great views, easy access to the lake, convenient location, easy to find, included many items needed to enjoy the lake. Loft bedroom was warm all the time. Not ideal for sleeping. Suggest improving air flow up there. Property management, the Yonder team, could definitely improve communication skills.

Beautiful views from the perfect spot

This is our 2nd time at the property. We loved it the first time we stayed and loved it even more this last time. The views the home offers are spectacular, along with the porch and deck that really allows you to take it all in. The home has all a family of 3 needed to stay comfortably, would highly recommend for anyone looking for a great spot on Lake Lure.

What a View!

When I booked this property I expected a beautiful lake view but what I also got was a beautiful Mountain View. The views totally wowed me. The house was very clean. The beds were comfortable. The area was quiet and we enjoyed the peacefulness of the lake in the early morning with coffee on the boathouse top deck. The second gas grill on the boathouse top deck was very helpful when entertaining while we were there. We did have one maintenance issue but the issue was resolved within just a couple hours of reporting it. I highly recommend this rental and Yonder in general.

The location on the lake is wonderful. We stayed on the boat house deck most of the time.

We would absolutely stay again. The living room needs a new sofa , comfort thing only. We enjoyed our stay. The activity on the lake for the 4th of July was amazing and we could see it all from our deck.

Lake house retreat

The location is great. The response from the rental company was great. With WiFi I could text but not get any calls . Loved the kayaks and fishing poles provided. Grills on both decks are handy. Very peaceful.

Great getaway

I took my daughter and her friend for a long weekend and we had the best time! We kayaked and we fished and we swam and found some neat hiking areas nearby. The house was perfect for what we needed! I would definitely stay again.

Charming lake cabin in a quiet location. Perfect for a weekend getaway or longer stay. Enjoyed being able to cook with my family or drive a short distance to local restaurants. Terrific location for access to Chimney Rock.

Birthday Retreat

Anchors Aweigh is a magical lake house. The view of the lake is lovely. Fishing and boating from the dock is fun. And the inside is quite comfortable, well equipped, and adorably decorated! Other than a few minor maintenance issues, it was perfect!

Amazing views of Chimney Rock

This lakefront mountain cabin was perfect for our family. For us, the highlight was the boat house and specifically the boat house deck. We spent multiple days enjoying the sunrise and sunsets as well as the amazing view of chimney rock from this beautiful location. We highly recommend.

This is the play to stay!

If you’re thinking about staying at Lake Lure this is your house. It has everything your family needs. The dock is great for jumping, swimming, and relaxing. House has all the amenities you need. The beds were very comfortable. We are hoping to book the house again in the future.

Family Vacation - Success!

This property gets 5 stars from our family & four-legged friends. The location is perfect, directly on the lake and with views of Chimney Rock from the top of the boat house. The living space was lovely as well - clean, plenty of room, cabin-like with modern upgrades, and of course... more views from that deck! We utilized the grill and outdoor eating space, enjoyed swimming/floating in the lake, and were close enough to town for a few trips for ice cream, lunch, or to Ingles to grab the groceries. We had great communication with Mara & Eric and enjoyed renting the boat for a few days as well to take in those sunsets. We chose this property for its location on the lake, pet-friendly status, reasonable pricing, and boat access. After our week there, we highly recommend it (we even spotted a few other vacation rentals we had looked at while on the boat and agreed ours was the best!) Thank you for a lovely vacation!
