Nice but Rooms are small
A solid 3 - but not close to a 4. Some funky things about this hotel - shower terribly flawed and is a struggle to get into; windows single pane and rooms are noisy; breakfast dissapointing.
This is a beautiful- beautiful property! Very caring and warm staff awaiting you at the desk. Very elegant rooms freshly remodeled with gorgeous tile and porcelain. Was able to arrange private car, cruises and even check out umbrellas. This hotel feels like your own and the restaurant is very accommodating. Main fiery pier is directly across from the hotel and main shopping is a five minute walk. I can not wait to stay again.
If u decide to stay in Como this location simply cannot be beat. You are walking distance to the train station and also to the ferry to take you to the other villages along the lake. It's also a stone's throw from the main piazza. The rooms were small and the air conditioning was almost non existent, but honestly I just assumed those were more European accomodations/standards. I didn't book the room with a view so I'm not sure if that was the reason for the smaller sized room. In any case, the breakfast every morning was delicious and the staff is very helpful and attentive. I would definitely stay here again.
The hotel interior was beautiful. If they renovated the rooms just a little and got some nicer beds it would be worth paying significantly more because the service and location are also great! The service here was all smiles. The breakfast was very nice and people serving it were very very friendly. Don't bother trying their wireless internet here; they wanted 5 Euros for 30 minutes!! Walk around the corner instead to the duomo where internet access is provided free by the municipality.
