Albergo Terminus Hotel

My boyfriend and I just got back form our trip to Como. Albergo Terminus was everything I thought it would be, centrally located, cosy and the exact opposite of a budget-hotel! We had a small room overlooking the lake. The view was wonderful and we really appreciated the complimentary water. But the best part was the breakfast buffet! So many choices even for vegetarians... I can even say that that was the highlight of the whole trip! Also, shout out to the lady in charge of the breakfast buffet. She was lovely.

The Albergo Terminus Hotel is centrally located and very grand and beautiful. We opted out of the breakfast as that option seemed extremely overpriced. While the views and the room itself were quite nice, we definitely felt the level of formality...it felt a bit stuffy at times and we were not permitted to bring a bottle of champagne and cheese to the large courtyard as apparently you must be served in that area. Again, a very nice hotel and it got the job done, but it did not feel as warm and welcoming as other hotels we stayed at in Italy.

We mostly enjoyed our fist visit to Como. The hotel location and staff we great to deal with. The only negative we found was the air conditioning seemed hoter than normal and there wasn't enough adjustment to cool it down. It was to noisy to have a window open, which made sleeping uncomfortable.

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel for about 7 days as a base for the Formula 1 Grand Prix at Monza and I must say were really impressed. The hotel is located adjacent to Lake Como and from our room we had views of the lake, the piazza and the mountains that surround the lake. The room was excellent and traditionally decorated, and had large built in wardrobes, a small kitchen style area with microwave, fridge, etc and a very large bathroom with shower and jacuzzi-type bath. There was a also a juliette balcony to enable us to appreciate the views. We found the staff to be very helpful both at reception and in the restaurant. Breakfast was the usual buffet style and could be had inside or in a small court yard dependent on the weather. There was a wide choice to suit all tastes and nationalities and I believe some items came at an additional charge. We had a couple of evening meals in the restaurant which is in a lovely setting and overlooks the Lake. It was not busy but there is a lot of competition and it was towards the end of the season. The choice on the menu was fine for us, the service was quick and the staff very pleasant. The meal was slightly more expensive than I would have imagined but the setting partially made up for this. The hotel was closed for a period some years ago and completely renovated whilst retaining the traditional look and feel. Whilst we were there some further renovation work was being done but the noise was not intrusive. As I said at the outset We were really impressed by the hotel and what it had to offer and would definitely stay again.

We just finished a three night stay at Albergo Terminus Hotel and could not be any happier with our experience. The location is excellent--you're literally five minute's walk to the train station, the Duomo and Piazza Mazzini. If you want to take the Funicular to the top of the mountain it's just a couple minutes past the train station. The restaurant and lounge on the second floor have lovely views of the lake and we found it to be a great place in the evening for an aperitif. The staff was very accommodating, nothing was too much for them. The front office team and Valentina were wonderful. We had rented bicycles to do some touring and the staff helped us lock them away in the evenings for safety. At breakfast the team always gave a warm greeting and made excellent coffees. The hotel feels that it has a great sense of history, but was very clean and well maintained. I did notice that there was some construction nearby but in no way did this detract from our experience, and no issues with noise. I would highly recommend this hotel for your Como visit as we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and exploring Como from this location.

We loved the location of this hotel, with its view of Lake Como and walking distance to Piazza Mazzini. We also loved the staff (thank you Elisa, Valentina, and the kitchen crew) who tirelessly helped us locate sites, provided directions, suggested restaurants and even helped coordinate delivery of my lost luggage. The included breakfast was delicious and plentiful with a good variety of food options. The bar was a nice place to sit and enjoy a glass of wine as was the 2nd floor lounge. What we didn't love was the lack of air conditioning, and at times, the rooms were very noisy due to the proximity to the road. Overall we were pleased with our stay.

Construction next door without warning! Very loud working starts at 7:30 am! Nobody feels responsible, no manager available! Still waiting for manager to contact us. This situation won‘t change for the upcoming months.

Location was wonderful-right across the street from the ferry. Good breakfast, room was on the small side-not a big deal though. Staff was very accommodating and helpful. HOWEVER, on our first night there-after traveling for 20 hours there was a party booked in the lounge just doors away from our room. To say they were playing loud music is an understatement. We are not complainers but this was absurd! We called the front desk and were told the party would be over by 11:30. It was not. Music went on until 12:30 am. Not a very good first nights sleep.

My sister and I stayed here for a week. Initially we were disappointed when we arrived as the small reception area wasn't shown on their website, but as we explored the rest of the hotel we cheered up. The bedrooms are quite small but very clean and comfortable. My sister's bathroom was modern but my shower had a plastic shower curtain. The safe was free and two bottles of water were provided every day. Breakfast was a highlight. Very attentive staff. Big bowls of fresh fruit salad, wonderful croissants, lemon/chocolate cake, pancakes, ham and cheese, etc. I think cooked choices were available, but we didn't enquire. We had dinner there twice and everything was of top quality, especially the gnocchi. The lakeside setting is a delight with a small garden overlooking the lake. A wonderful hotel in a fabulous setting.

Wonderful period hotel very relaxing close to all that the lake and Como have to offer. Special mention to all the staff from the reception and the breakfast employees who run a fast and efficient service, great choice of food and al delivered with a smile. The young lady that cleaned our room 204 worked so hard and nothing seemed too much trouble for her I hope the management recognise this. We hope to come back soon and enjoy this beautiful hotel right on the lake.
