This is an older hotel...the good included hot water, nice air conditioning and controls, and a hard-surface floor in a handicapped room. This is a thin-sheet, flat pillow kind of place. The worst was the condition of the shower. Mold in the grout. Mold in the knobs to adjust the water. Evidently, there is not much dedication to cleanliness.
Even though the furnishings and decor are a bit outdated, this place is clean and comfortable. The biggest plus is the laminated floor which is perfect for people traveling with pets! No odors! Staff is friendly and very helpful.
Motel was fine, clean and breakfast was fine. Desk clerk was awesome, in trying to fix what choice privileges messed up, in making the wrong reservation. We appreciated his help, after a long day of traveling, and I was getting no help from Choice hotels.
I have given record to several surveys regarding this property...with no good explanation....It was the single worst Hotel visit of my life...It's a wonder my entire party doesn't have lung cancer at this point...Management doesn't care...I received a sketchy apology from a none reply site....Choice Privilege should investigate this Hotel......Cats everywhere rooms dirty.Dirty Sheets....nasty. Housekeeping none existent...Looks like Crack addicts run the place....We had no other choice because the Hurricane had many people seeking out shelter..I had to have all my clothes Dry Cleaned to make sure there were no pest brought home...as well as one outfit ruined by Cigarette smoke.....Disgusting Doesn't even deserve a 1 but I have to choose in order to get my comments out there so no one else makes this mistake.....
We had our annual family get together in Live Oak this past weekend. There are 30+ of us for the weekend,we needed a clean place to shower and get a good nights rest, and not pay an arm and a leg. econlodge is the place to stay, new owners have made a difference, friendly ,clean and everything works. Some of our party used the pool,I did not,it was clean.
The room was "ok", however the refrigerator never stopped rumbling as if it were on its last leg. There were stray cats everywhere, at least 30 of them. So if you don't like cats.... Also, the next day I asked for an iron and ironing board since there was not one in the room. The front desk told me that the board was broken but I could come and get the iron. After I walked to the front office and retrieved the iron, I got back to the room to find out that it didn't work. I had to park a long way from my room due to limited parking in that area of the motel. I don't think I will stay there again.
We stopped on our way to Central Florida to break up the long drive. This Econo Lodge in Live Oak, FL was selected by Priceline as a "name your price" deal. It was much cheaper than stopping in Lake City. This motel was old and not very appealing. It was ok for one nights sleep. The only real problem was that several of our neighboring guests were smoking outside of their room. You could smell the cigarette smoke as soon as you opened the door. The complimentary breakfast was very sparse and the juice machine was broken.
The beds were definitely on the "firm" end and we both noticed that the room smelled a little musty. The so-called breakfast buffet consisted of frozen burritos that you could microwave. On a second visit to Live Oak we stayed at the Quality Inn next door which provided much better value for about the same cost.
Clean friendly workers breakfast was good . would stay again and again loved it . well worth the price.great area walking distance to Walmart and great restaurants. Easy on off the highway. Plenty of channels. Comfy beds.highly recommended
I spent the night here on my way to Orlando. I have stayed in this same hotel several other times. This year you can really see the neglect of the property. It felt old! The shower was not nice, and the linens were very scratchy and cheap feeling. I was just using the hotel for a bed, but I will look elsewhere next year.
