Inside this elegantly furnished and comfortable apartment, you will find all you need to come back after a day on the beach or strolling through and exploring the city. ## Neighborhood
Lagos is a city steeped in history where you can still see the old city walls from the 16th century surrounding the historic old town, a unique landmark centre with lots to explore. There is also a fantastic marina area where you can watch the fishing boats come and go and take a leisurely walk alongside the charming harbours estuary.
The city blends traditional Portuguese culture with beautiful beaches and excellent tourist facilities. With an extensive selection of restaurants to choose from and nightlife, you will be spoilt for choice. Close to Lagos are various activities and sights ranging from waterparks to zoos, historical monuments and challenging hiking and biking trails, and a vineyard or two. In addition, there are three golf courses close to Lagos, making it an ideal location for your base.
## Transit
You can reach Lagos in about one hour by car from Faro Airport, and car rental is available in the airport's parking lot. By train, it will take about 2,5 to 3 hours.
Lagos has a train station (for travel towards Faro, Lisbon and Porto) and a bus station (for buses towards the west-side of the south coast), but do note that buses and trains only go a few times per day. You can quickly get around without a car, and plenty of taxis and Ubers are available, but if you want to explore the area surrounding Lagos, a (rental) car will make your life much easier.

The Rental Valley property management company is fantastic. If we return, we would definitely rent through this company.
The property itself is lovely - no major issues, it just requires some TLC.
The neighborhood was nice and the suite is fairly well equipped.
What the listing didn't mention was it is ground floor and the one bedroom is against the building front door, so lots of noise. Walls are paper thin and cars on the cobbles outside is very noticeable with each vehicle.
The light as you enter the suite is on motion sensor exclusively, which means if you get up in the night, basically the whole suite is lit up like daytime. Very annoying.
I love how they provided 1 roll of toilet paper for 3 people and 12 nights, super helpful.
