Super 8 Frankfort IN2.0 out of 5.0

The lobby had no lights on when I came in at noon! I asked the clerk and he turned one light on. The hallway smelled so bad, no air conditioning in the hallway made it smelly and stuffy. The room was ok, new carpet, new bedding, but the sink and tub were not clean! Breakfast was a JOKE! one cup to use over and over to dispense waffle mix. bottom cupboard exposed fixtures of some sort. No muffins. dirty floor. There was a hamper full of dirty clothes on the dryer in the hallway, personal clothes it seemed. Ice machine did not work. Grill outside side door was full of cigarette butts.
This hotel was clean and friendly and has a great location if you are working at the Frito Lay plant.
Was as expected for a Super8. Bathroom was clean but in need of updates. Bed and pillow were very comfortable. Not very many options for breakfast.
We averaged around $100 per night for a motel with almost no amenities, worn rooms and linens, no swimming pool, and rooms that didn't get serviced by housekeeping. The ice machine is broken (you could get ice at the desk). "Breakfast" consisted of the ubiquitous waffle maker, packaged pastries, cereal and toast. No refrigerated items such as yogurt or boiled eggs. The only saving grace was that it was quiet.
My wife and I came through town for the Frankfort Hot Dog Festival. We picked the Super 7 because of the price. We read the reviews and figured other people were being picky. I mean, Im not living here, I just need a place to rest for a few hours and wash up. The room was hot when we arrived. After fidgiting, we got some AC, After about 1/2hr, the room was cool enough. The bath was small but everything worked. The bed was comfortable. The under sheets and pillowcases felt clean. The top bedspread had some burn holes and carpet was a bit rough. I slept comfortably. It was quiet. They were friendly.
This hotel is exactly what I expected for the money and a bit more. I expected a coffee and a donut for breakfast but instead I had the option of making myself a waffle. I had REAL butter packets (I can't stand margarine) and half & Half for the coffee (not that whitener stuff.) They also offered an apple or a banana and a packaged sweet roll or muffin for folks on the run. I expected just a room with beds but got a microwave, coffeemaker, refrigerator, iron, and ironing board. I didn't expect the windows to open so that I could enjoy the fresh country air...but they do open! (Of course, the horrible biting no-see-ums come through the screens in the evening but, hey, that's life in the country!) While it is true that despite the recent updating of the paint and carpet, the smell was not as fresh as it should have been, there are still folks who think Indiana should continue to allow smoking everywhere and ignore the rules. I don't know what the owner can do about that beyond what is already being done. I found the owners and fellow patrons to be pleasant and I enoyed the lowest prices of anywhere on my trip. I don't know what some people expect for the money but I was well satisfied.
I used to stay here for an annual event in the Lafayette area and it served really well for the price and location. Being a Super 8, I never expect a luxury hotel, but this last stay took the cake. Not only did the night manager have ALL of the air conditioning turned off in the building (walking through a muggy and smelly hallway to get my room, etc), but the carpet was torn in lots of places, other places the carpet was stained with questionable dark substances (blood?), the bedding was covered in a ton of pet hair, and the fridge was broken. It's safe to say I won't ever be staying here again and it's disappointing that this Super 8, through poor management, has been turned into Section 8!
Our room smelled horrible. The beds were hard as a rock and i woke up with 10 bites on my neck. I told the manager that we would not be staying an additional night. they would not credit our room.
We only needed a room for one night and knew our options were limited. Made reservations online for 2 rooms. When we arrived the exterior and lobby area of the motel were less then opulent, but that wasn't what we were paying for. The gentleman that checked us in was very pleasant and explained the breakfast times, and room locations. We noticed the signs in the lobby about the motel being smoke free, which we liked, however the odor didn't support that. It may be no smoking now, but was not previously. Some new paint and carpet is needed to completely make the no smoking claim. However, the rooms were clean and spacious. The rooms on the backside are quiet, and we were surprised at the overall quietness. The breakfast layout was sparse. Two choices of cereal, with the milk just being a gallon jug out on the counter. Bread for toast, but no butter or jelly. The coffee was good, and there was a choice of juices. Again, its what you pay for. Overall, Super 8 met our need of a place to sleep for the night and did it at a decent price.
TERRIBLE. Never, never stay there again. I stay at hotels 3-4 nights a week.so I can speak of hotel quality. The highest price place I stayed all year and it was terrible! It stunk! What ever they were cooking they stunk the entire hotel. It was dirty. 'I didn't sleep well, did not feel safe. At 7 am they were all ready out of coffee and orange juice. The other hotel was full so had no choice but stay there. There was nothing good about it.
