Stayed here 2 nights. Hotel was nice. Staff are exceptional from the GM on down. Very friendly and helpful. They go above and beyond to make your stay great. Hot breakfast with eggs, sausage or bacon. Waffles. The only complaint I have is the pool. Although clean and nice and indoors, the water was a bit chilly. Pool is not heated. Other than that if in Lafayette, would definitely stay there again.
I was extremely disappointed with this location. It was advertised as being a "pet friendly" motel, however once I arrived, the desk attendant wrote on the contract "no pets allowed." If that's not false advertising I don't know what is. The room looked like it needed to be cleaned. I opened the door to the stairs & a rodent greeted me, therefore, I shut the door and made my way to the elevator. The beds were comfy & roomy so I guess that's the only plus to this motel.
We fully enjoyed our stay! Will for sure be back! Rooms were nice and clean! Staff was very friendly! Breakfast was good and the hostess was so sweet!!! I loved that the beds had four pillows per bed!
I stayed at this hotel as a planned stopover on a trip across the country. When I arrived it was pouring rain but fortunately there was no other car in front of the reception and I could get my luggage out of the car without getting drenched. I made the reservation on line and when I checked in the receptionist, Kamal, first asked me about my trip which I think was a nice touch. It would have been a good opportunity to unload about my experiences on the road jungle but I tried not to succumb into temptation. Then I asked him if, by any chance I could have a room on the first floor. He said that there were no rooms for the type of the reservation that I had, but after a few moments of thinking he said, “Well, I will get you an upgrade so you can stay on the first floor”. Not only that, but he gave me the room a very quiet room (which I put as a preference when I made the reservation). The room was clean, smelled fresh and no piece of furniture was old or decrepit. The shower head provided enough water for a comfortable shower, which is a plus nowadays with many hotels showers that are just for drip irrigation. There was no gym so for my jog I went outside on the streets of the neighborhood. When you first arrive at the hotel and see a gated parking lot with bright lights you probably would not feel very comfortable. You need not worry, though. After I run a few times around the streets surrounding the hotel, I realized that this was a working class neighborhood, most likely safe. There were no houses with bars on the windows. This being a weekend there was a party at one house, but there was no blaring music. If you plan to have a dinner in one of the famous catfish Louisiana restaurants, you cannot jug around the blocks at the end of a day of driving because all the restaurants close by 9:00 PM and there is about twenty minutes of driving to the closest one - so much for my diner. I did not have time for breakfast in the morning, just went for a cup of coffee. But the hostess, which reminded me of a picture of Aunt Jemima, almost would let me leave - scolding me like a mother that I should not leave without a breakfast. Incidentally, she also spoke French with some Canadian guests. This is not a luxury hotel by any stretch of imagination and I am aware that circumstances can dictate quite different experiences but in my case I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel.
We were reluctant to stay at this hotel based upon internet reviews. We did anyway and it turned out to be a wonderful stay. Our room was large, clean, comfortable, and had the typical amenities of fridge microwave, coffee maker, etc. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hot breakfast also was typical and good. Located immediately south of the intersection of I-10 and I-40, the hotel, along with others, is a bit difficult to access due to how the roads are laid out. But it is definitely worth the stay.
Hotel was friendly and relaxed though a bit shabby; I would go back. Rooms comfy and clean. Hot breakfast was better than I expected in this price range. We had a cat with us and she enjoyed the room too. The only problem is finding this hotel. It does not have a big sign, and it is off a thruway that is not easy to enter or exit. It is very near a Waffle House, though, and if you exit when you see the Waffle House, you will be able to locate the hotel.
I made online reservations and as we pulled in we were not happy with our choice. The neighborhood isn't great, however in talking to both night and day staff it's not as bad as it looks. The parking lot is also very well lit. Odd number rooms give you a view of your vehicle. The whole inn is very clean, but old. Our room was very nice but in nerd of fresh paint. The beds were comfortable and the pillows womderful. The staff was friendly and the breakfast bar standard. We would probably return.
This was a horrible hotel. Glad it was only a stopping point. Was not worth the $90. Heard others make same comment at breakfast. My son pulled out the sofa bed and there was a stain on it. The room smelt bad when you first walked in. The carpet looked nasty. Breakfast was ok, but not great. Would not recommend staying here.
Great room excellent mattress! Very comfy stay. The breakfast was good and hot. Manager was very helpful I left a bag there and he is mailing to me. Staff was kind and friendly. We picked this hotel because it was dog friendly and was a good location to stop at on way from San Antonio to New Orleans. We then took scenic 90 to New Orleans from layfyette and made stops along the ways at different sites.
Very poor customer service. The hotel called at 3:30 pm just before we arrived to check in. The manager had an employee call and tell us that they had no more pet friendly rooms. I called Quality Inn and Suites customer service and they found a room 20 miles away. They also called the Lafayette manager but he wouldn't budge. We ended up calling other hotels directly, since we felt burned by the online reservation process, and did locate another hotel ourselves. Not sure if I will use Trip Advisor or Cheap Tickets in the future. I certainly will never reserve a Choice Hotel affiliate again.
