We hosted our wedding in La Paz in August 2014. We had 50 of our closest family and friends join us for a week of relaxation and fun. We rented condos from the La Concha condominiums via b&b and the hotel as well as had some guests stay in the hotel. The condominiums are absolutely beautiful, great views and amazing sizes and finishes. The rooms are decent too, and are a great price! The beach is Stunning, the hotel is beautiful, very traditional. We had the most amazing wedding and loved absolutely every moment, and so did our family and friends. We hope all to come back one day soon for a reunion.
This Resort show it's age and doesn't have many amenities. Our room was clean and staff were very helpful. It was quite and relaxing and enjoyed our stay. There is a restaurant onsite. The food was good. Nice big beach and beautiful sunsets. The Resort offers a shuttle to downtown La Paz every morning at 10:00AM. You can take back the shuttle to the Resort at 1:30PM. If you want to stay downtown longer a taxi charges about 100 pesos which is about $5at that time's exchange rate.
I really don't like writing bad reviews but this hotel experience was pretty bad!! The service was not good the hotel was old I would be calling all the time front desk for more towels there was never enough in my room and they would get upset every time I would call. I will never stay there again.
Had nice stay at La Concha. Although the resort is dated and needs some updating it was still relaxing their. The location was one of the best in La Paz. For that reason alone I recommend this resort.
This is a 6 story luxury condo complex on the beach just outside the city center of La Paz. There are several options from studios to 3 bedroom 4 bath suites all facing the beautiful bay where the snorkeling is pretty good. Affordable prices make this a very desirable location with a gated security entrance, swimming pool, hot tub and a nearby restaurant and bar. We stayed in a suite that had huge nicely decorated rooms, a full kitchen, two balconies, a flat screen TV and free in room Wifi, A cab ride into city center was 100 pesos, about $5 US.
The waiters and reception staff were extremely rude and this was not my first time there but definitely one that makes me want to comment on this bad experience, attitude to begin with is awful as if you were there to bother them, they never show up and when they do and ask for things in their menu they get mad for whatever reason, they lack basic customer service training - shame for a being the only truly resort on the beach in La Paz... my baby had fun in the pool and the ocean I give them just one star for their location other than that it may be one of the worst experiences in vacations.
I live in Cabo San Lucas so we frequently go to La Paz for mini getaways. The staff at the resort was unfriendly and basically let us fend for ourselves, which would be fine if we knew where to find certain things, like clean bathroom towels. It took us hours and asking multiple times to get clean towels. We were also told kayaks were free of charge and then had to pay. The kayaks are nice so paying wasn't horrible, just felt misled. The pool is nice and has a large shallow part of the pool which was perfect for my 2 year old. However a day at the pool was less enjoyable because the service was so slow. We were there during spring break and they appeared to be severely understaffed. The food was sub-par, except we did especially like the chicken strips. The basic room and was okay. I wouldn't say it's a good value because there are several hotels in La Paz at a similar price point that are better, we prefer Hotel Perla.
The room was basic and the bathroom was very dated, but everything was clean. The bed was very comfortable and we had a nice view of the garden/pool area. There's a computer in the lobby available for public use and we were allowed to print boarding passes free of charge. Reception staff and hotel manager were extremely helpful and attentive. The restaurant is serving delicious and reasonably priced meals.
We loved our stay here. We initially only planned on spending two nights but extended our stay a third night as we enjoyed the quaintness of the property, the great food in the restaurant (shrimp cocktail, beef machaca, chilaquiles, huevos rancheros, fresh juices were all excellent) and our humble but comfortable accommodations. Our king bed was super comfortable and had a ton of pillows! The interior decoration of the lobby with a Thai and Indonesian influence was a nice touch. We really enjoyed that every room had a balcony that faced the Sea of Cortez (the balcony is tiny but fits two chairs out there). I suggest when you check in to ask for a renovated room or a room in the condo (we got a renovated room) as from what I read with other reviews, it is worth asking for. Note: you can book tours through the front desk. We booked the snorkeling with a whale shark experience for two (1700 pesos) and our opinion, the company we went with appeared to be the most reputable and regulated.
Had a wonderful experience getting married in La Paz at La Concha! We had 100 guests and took over the hotel for 3 full days. Everyone was nice, accommodating, and easy going. The rooms were a great value and the location is perfect to explore the surrounding areas! The condos are also great options for larger groups. The hotel was being rennovated when we were there and I'm excited to go back and visit the new look. Hope it doesn't lose it's charm! Our wedding was so special and a huge thanks to all La Concha staff for your hard work and wonderful hospitality!
