Nice hostel with good vibes, not crowded, facilities are clean. They have a nice cafe with English menu but also a nice restaurant across them which serves large bowls of noodle soup with many toppings for 10 Yuan. Good ping pong table and pool table, laundry facilities, comfortable beds. Would recommend it. They don’t offer vpn when I visited though but I have my own.

After a long, almost 5-hour-long way to this place from the outskirts of Kunming I was so happy to get there and relax a bit. The staff girls were very helpful and extremely polite - they even apologized for me that I had to go to the 4th floor with my big suitcase. I think there was nothing to be sorry, a bit of physical training is never a bad thing. Atmosphere was nice and cozy on the first floor. My room was clean and unfortunately without a window. To offset the absense of sunlight one could leave the room and sit on a terrace lovely sorrounded by lots of plants. However, there was one thing that was spoiling that resting experience completely. Every ten seconds or so a loud and unpleasant ultrasound would cut through the air. I have no idea what was that - maybe it was the fire alarm, which says that system is working normally. Or maybe it was aimed to scare some animals like insects or even bigger ones like mouses. Whatever it was, it would force me (and obviously others, because there were no people resting on the terrace) to go to the first floor and sit there. From the first floor one couldn't hear that weird sound and was able to relax. The food, the cafe, washing machines and other facilities were quite good.

I and my friend were here for 1 night in dorm room. Everything is clean. There are seperate bathroom and toilet nearby. It's quite convenient. But the lock was broken, so it is not safe if you put your value items there. One tip for Vietnamese friends, the night receptionist can speak vietnamese very fluently. So no need to worry if you check in at late night.

The hostel itself was great. We booked a private double room which was quite expensive for a hostel, but the room was very modern and clean. The bathroom was fabulous and the bed was so comfortable. They had a nice lounge area with reasonably priced food and wine by the glass which was a huge bonus. Unfortunately the whole experience for us was ruined by the awlful day trip they booked for us. We only had a short time in Kunming so really wanted to see Shilin stone forest and the Jiuxiang scenic area. When we arrived at the hostel, we realised the staff can’t speak English so we couldn’t really get clear instructions on how to get there ourselves. Their wifi doesn’t work so we couldn’t look it up either. But the hostel offered a day tour, it was very expensive but it did mean that everything was arranged for us. We were completely mislead as we had actually received an email about this particular tour in perfect English, so we thought we would be with fellow travellers. This was not the case and the whole day was on a Chinese tour bus. Our idea of hell. It was with cheesy Chinese commentary the whole way. (I can understand some mandarin but my partner can’t at all) Then we we reached both areas, the tour was one of those super lame group tours when huge crowd of Chinese tourists follow their tour guide who waves a flag and speaks through a microphone. We couldn’t understand any of it, and huge tours are not our thing, especially when we’ve paid for a guide we can’t understand. The girl on the desk never told us that the day was going to be a Chinese tour group and it baffles me why she thought we would enjoy this.

(1) Not easy TO GET TO: (a) airport bus & (b) taxi. (2) Not easy TO GET TO: not next to Metro. (3) LOCATION: GoogleMap "Kunming". Cloud Hostel is in Majiadui. But the action's on Renmin E Road and the CuiHu Lake area. Look how far Cloud Hostel is. (4) OVERRATED. I speak Chinese. You might not. But even I can't get around by bus because of the impatient bus drivers. The out of the way location of Cloud gives it a low score. (5) Nice RESTAURANT: but there's nothing to do here. (6) They got me TRAIN TICKETS. -- Poor WIFI that drops often. -- No SOAP in showers.

Room looks new and clean. Modern design. 10minutes walk to Panjiawan Metro Station which is 2 stops away from Dongfeng Square. Receptionist during late/wee hours ddidnt speak english. You will need to leave your passport as deposit until next morning if you arrive late.

Staff are very nice and the foods good and cheap! Has a very homey vibe while still being clean and professional. Pretty outdoor area and cozy indoor lounge. Took me a while to find, but that’s my fault. Would come again.

The girl who worked on August 7 12:00 noon, is extremely impolitely. The travel agency delivered a package to the hostel . I asked her to check it for me, she didn't and said she didn't in charge of the package and hung up on me , TWICE ! WOW, it's really a terrible service ever !!!!!! Poor service, the hostel should fire her

the hostel offers room in a low rate and value for money. the room was clean and nice. they also have a mini bar to hang around with other traveler. the best thing i love is i can put my backpack for free when i make a short trip to li jiang. the staff also speak english very fluent.

Check in after-hours and was told to leave our passports behind the front desk for the morning staff to process - we could not find warning of this anywhere in our confirmation email or online and just did not feel comfortable doing it so left a large cash deposit instead. No air conditioning in the rooms and not all windows have fly screens, was bitten in the night, got a bit stuffy too (our roommates both appeared to be sick which didn't help). Was given a padlock on checking but had to rent a towel and after hours none available, so we had to purchase a tea towel to share. A lot of bathrooms that I think staff struggled to keep up with cleaning (but they constantly looked busy!) common area tired and dated, staff friendly enough, spoke good English and helped with directions. Close to metro station, wifi connection good and large outdoor area. Great coffee but food average and pricey
