What can I say apart from true Paradise . we stayed for 5 nights at this resort and everything was perfect from our arrival. Pavilions are beautiful . staff helpful and friendly . food amazing and beach and pool area just breath taking.
We would like to say big thank you to Ms. Sofia who took care of us! As soon as we arrived to this wonderful paradise we were well took care by all staff, the villa with prv swimming pool was amazing, private beach near by and swimming pool belongs to hotel was magnifique! All associate well recognized us and understood our needs! We had fantastic and memorable stay in Rayavadee which we will remember for ever! Big thank you to management team! /crazy couple from 109/
The (little) bad. - A little out dated design and decor. - Wifi in the room doesn't work properly (complained 3 times). - No need to eat at Grotto. Just grab a drink there. Food is OK but 3300 baht per person (total over 8000 for 2 plus service plus vat... this has no sense to it whatsoever. Total rip off. - EVERYTHING is overpriced for NO reason (food, drinks, activities etc.). Highly recommended to just go out (3 min walk!). It is a small place so does not make sense to charge that much for everything (example - beer in the hotel is ~220 Baht. Outside in a bar - 50). The good - we read many things about the service, the English skills, safety etc. This is all just wrong. The hotel has one of the best services we have ever received. Staff is kind and speaking good English (compared to Thailand). Resort is BEAUTIFUL! Most beautiful beach we've been in Tahiland.
I had booked this place for my wife's birthday, everything about this place was top notch. From the moment they pick you up from the airport then you transfer to the island via their private boat. Once you reach the resort they brief you everything about the resort. As this place is huge they have golf carts to transfer you around the resort. The highlight has to be the pool by Railay beach side which has the most amazing view of the beach ahead. The only negative thing I found was that I'd booked dinner for 2 at their prime restaurant Grotto, If i'm not mistaken the price was 3000 bht per head. I didn't find the food was up to the standard of this resort, it was bland and there was no value for money. They did give us a free bottle of wine for my wife's birthday though. Also the food from room service is crazy expensive! 400+ BAHT for a plate of Chicken Basil Rice. All in all it was a great trip but I would recommend them to change the set menu for the restaurant.
Rayavadee is one of the most interesting resorts to travel to. At Krabi International Airport, the Rayavadee "meet and greet" staff received us with warm smiles and took us by a van to a port (about 40 mins) where we transferred to a luxurious speedboat with comfortable white seats. What an exciting start to our holiday. As we neared the resort, as it was low tide, we were transferred from the speedboat to a floating platform driven by a tractor! When we arrived at the resort, the manager (Ms. Susan) was present greet us. She asked how our journey was and led us to the reception area. There we were introduced to the staff member (Ms. Sophia) who was to take care of us during our stay. Over the next few days, Sophia turned out to be most delightful companion and one of the key reasons that sets Rayavadee apart from their resort experience. She supplied all the information we needed, and told us more about the Krabi area and even chit chatted about travel stuff. The room has a spacious living area on level one and the bedroom is on level two. It is well-appointed. Neat and tidy, good design. We were very pleased with the room. At the pool area (which is big and not too crowded), we met one of the staff (Mr. Bee) who also was personable and chit chatted with us about photography. Told us where to catch the best sunset shots. There are langurs (similar to monkeys) around the resort, they are really cute and look quite smart with their white "spectacles". The resort is spacious and fronts 3 beaches. One of them (where we arrived) is the transportation beach so not much leisure happens there except for some small local shops and restaurants. The other two beaches accessible from Rayavadee are Phranang and Railay. Both have different features, and we enjoyed them. We also tried the Rayavadee Spa - Signature massage. It was so-so, nothing to complain about but it was unimpressive. We expected a higher standard of massage experience from such a nice resort. There are 4 lovely restaurants at the resort and we tried 3 of them. Railay, Grotto and the breakfast restaurant. My husband did not like the food at the Grotto, though it was the most expensive meal during our stay. Personally, I quite enjoyed the food but I must say the "Korean beef" dish served at breakfast doesn't taste Korean at all. I was especially pleased that the various restaurant staff remembered that I don't like coriander leaf in my food. Overall, we had a wonderful time over 3 nights (weekend) and we have good memories of the lovely staff we met there. Thank you.
We we asked for was exactly what we got.... rest and relaxation. We stayed in our own private 2 storey huts that had all that you asked for and more. Walking around this beautiful place called paradise! What an amazing experience the whole place provided! Then there was the local wildlife that literally comes in from the forest! The staff was amazing and helpful. They are very warm, friendly and caring. We are at both restaurants located at the resort, highly recommmeded. The breakfast every morning was fantastic and again well worth paying for. The pool was great and the beach was literally there with beautiful views across the Krabi area and the sheer lime stone cliffs that surrounds the resort. What a stunning place to soak up the sun, enjoy the atmosphere and the surrounding. Highly recommended and definitely a place to be in Thailand.
The hotel itself is very good. Thoughtfull and respectfull staff. I took a public transportation to the hotel and had to carry my on luggage to the hotel(about 5 minutes walk). The hotel said that if we wanted someone to help us we should've requested before. The room is spacious although i've missed a better spot to store the luggage/clothes. I've found very disturbing to master all the lights on the room too. The complimentary activities are AWESOME. Kayaking, fit ball, hike. Everything superb. The very bad part of the trip concerned the hotel's credit card policy. Aparently, we are suposed to show the same card we did the booking as soon as we arrive at the hotel, on check in. The solution presented by the hotel was to cancel the old book(that was paid one month before and make a new one in a new credit card) Even though, the card was lost months before and the reservation was already been paid. We were not informed about that in any sort of prior communication. The biggest problem besides been disturbed several times concerning this issue(we had our lunch interrupted, checkin took 30 minutes and when we tryied to book our transfer to leave) during our stay was that we've paid taxes and credit card fee whenever we booked the reservation and if we cancel the old to make a new one, we wouldn't be able to retrieve it. The hotel sorted it out by paying all this credit card expenses. All the stress was annoying anyway. I thought about someone that would've won the stay as a prize or a gift for example. This person would experience the same trouble.
Complete bliss, beauty and service. Amazing resort. My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights in a Hydro Pool Pavilion, as part of our Honeymoon in Thailand. We arrived at the resort via the hotel's own private speedboat, the journey itself was stunning, we saw rock climbers climbing up one of the limestone cliff faces and the views were obviously spectacular. We got off the boat and entered the resort. The moment we set foot into the resort, the service began, we were greeted by a chaperone with a lovely refreshing welcome drink and cold towel - both of which were gratefully received . We sat in the reception lounge and cooled down and then we were greeted by our personal butler - the wonderful, kind and fabulous, May! What a lovely person and a great ambassador for your hotel - genuinely throughout our stay he was wonderful and nothing was too much trouble at any time, night or day. May took us through check in very quickly and moved right on to guiding us around the huge resort. May then took us to show us our Pavilion and on the way was extremely informative about the wildlife that graced the resort. He explained the differences about the resort Monkeys, the friendly spectacle lemur monkeys and lesser friendly monkeys. As both my wife and I are a big fan of nature we were so excited and listened with intent. Anyway, the Pavilion was a short walk from the Reception lounge area and we arrived to the two storey hut. We walked in and it was beautiful. From the cookies in the jar by the TV, the of teas and coffee to the range of toiletry supplies will not leaving you wanting. Everything is thought of, shavers, loofah and hotel made soap, toothbrushes, after sun body lotion, shampoo & conditioner, mosquito repellent, sewing kit, comb, cotton buds, pumice stones etc. We were so impressed, there was even a flashlight for walking around at night and even chocolates by the bedside tables! There is also a nightly turn down service, In my opinion the best “turn down” service of any resort I have stayed at, all used towels are replaced, any used toiletries are replaced, drinking water bottles are replaced, the room is basically remade and ready for your night’s sleep. Downstairs was super comfy a huge sofa and chair, flip flops, umbrellas - everything you need. The pool and restaurants were superb, the facilities were great too, we used the complimentary Kayaks and went out a few times Kayaking along with snorkelling. Again they provided the snorkels for free. Breakfast and food in the restaurant was superb, the evening meals were expensive, but its what you expect at a five star resort. The pool setting was amazing, set around limestone cliffs, just beautiful and literally on the doorstep of one of the three beaches that surround the resort. We had a massage included with our package and my God, it was total bliss and just total relaxation. There so many amazing things about this place. The service, the nature, (seeing the local wildlife, the monkeys and lizards was in itself a massive highlight), the surroundings was just spectacular. I really can't give this place enough superlatives. My only gripe is the loudness of the long tail boats and the fact that the resort is pretty isolated, but the isolation is what we wanted, it was almost like paradise on the the edge of the Earth. The resort can't help the loudness of the boats either. All in all this place is simply stunning. Upon leaving and checking out, we were genuinely sad to go. The hotel's general manager personally asked if everything was ok and if we had enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended, if you're umming and arring on whether to book or not - you wont be disappointed! Thanks to May at Rayavadee - top bloke and a credit to the hotel.
This property is stunning!!!!!!! Nothing has compared to our stay here. The staff are over the top accommodating for every little thing. The villa was spectacular in every way. The facility is so well kept it truly is out of this world. The sunsets at Railay Beach are not to be missed. Nok greeted us upon arrival and took total care of all our needs. We were escorted to our villa 327. The first night was a bit of a challenge getting around but we soon realized the challenge was all part of the experience. We ate at all of the restaurants and enjoyed each of them. The Grotto is uniquely nestled into the mountain with an outstanding view of Happy Island. We truly could not come up with anything that we didn’t love about our stay. The property is so unique and the staff are truly so attentive, friendly, and genuine. We would come back in a heart beat..... well done Rayavadee !!!!!!!!!
I will do my best to keep this short but there is so much to tell you all, I may ramble on! I visited the resort with my 10 year old son. We were picked up promptly by the beautiful and very comfortable boat to take us to the resort. Both staff on board the boat were so friendly and welcoming. They even insisted that they carried our hand luggage aboard for us. Once we had completed the picturesque ride to the resort, we were met by our butler, Ray. She welcomed us in a friendly manner and explained how the resort works and the location of everything very well. She then showed us to our accommodation. I was blown over by our two storey hut in the forest. Yes, as per previous reviews, they are weathered on the outside but I did not go there to stare at the outside it! Inside it was perfect. Clean, comfortable and very luxurious. Our luggage was delivered promptly and we went to explore. The resort does cover a large area. We found it fun and quite amusing at how lost we managed to get. We did not take our map but ensured we did not make the same mistake when we ventured out for our evening meal! There are also torches in the rooms so take one with you after dark. All of the restaurants were lovely. I especially rate the Grotto where the food is barbecued. The service at all restaurants was prompt, very friendly and helpful. The staff are all the nicest of people and I have never felt so privileged to be served by such wonderful people. Breakfast was included and was just superb. There is plenty of choice from the buffet and also from the al a carte menu (no extra charge). All of the restaurants in the resort are UK prices so it would be worth paying for half board if you are planning on eating in the resort every night. We ate in the resort on some nights but also ventured out of the resort at some evenings to eat at some of the local restaurants and bars. The food was great in all of them that we went to and it was great to meet different people. In fact, all of the staff, throughout all of the resort, who all had their own different jobs were the most friendly, approachable, professional people I have ever come across in a resort/hotel. My son even said to me one evening that he couldn’t believe how friendly everybody was. A few of the staff we saw regularly always called myself and my son by our names which was nice. I was truly humbled by how much all of the staff went out of their way to make us happy. The resort as a whole is stunning. Set in its jungle location with the breathtaking cliffs and crystal clear waters. The two beaches do get busy but with large areas to swim in the warm sea, we weren’t crowded there. The complimentary kayaks give you a different view of the resort and are a must try. The beach attendants could not do enough to help and brought us cold bottles of water and towels. The pool was huge! It has a nice are around it with plenty of sun loungers and pool attendants bringing you towels and cold bottled water. It was often a tough decision whether to go for a swim in the pool or swim in the sea! The trips were second to none. They are dear but well worth the money. You are transported in comfort and it’s nice not to be crammed into a small boat with everybody fighting for space. You will see monkeys a plenty, beautiful butterflies, water monitors, amazing birds and all sorts of weird and wonderful insects. Take your bug spray due to the location but the hotel do spray regularly to keep the nasties away. All in all the perfect holiday. The resort had thought of everything. I bought some of the luxurious toiletries that were in our room from the shop on departure as I was so impressed by them. To sum up. Delightful staff, stunning scenery, plenty to do (even with a 10 year old), great wildlife, delicious food and amazing accommodation. Thank you Rayavadee for the experience. We are going to return in 2019 and I am counting down already!
