Beautiful resort on railay beach west. Amazing two pools and nature all around. We got the deluxe rooms and they were huge, modern and very clean. Location is amazing close to everything. We stayed for seven days and didn't want to leave.
Nice helpfully staff. Not a 4 star property by any means. Clean basic rooms. I should have just visited the beach for the day or for lunch. Not worth the money spent on the hotel and transportation

Best place in the area to stay. Clean rooms, close to the beach, and on the better side of th area. Would recommend to anyone.
Overall nice facility. 2 good pools and convenient to everything once you know the shortcuts which are easy with a little exploration. Had one of the larger rooms in the back of the property which sound like you would want to be in the front but we preferred the back pool and location

First, if you are going to Railay, you cannot expect perfection. The place only gets food and gets rid of trash via longboats. So, expect to smell unpleasant things, maybe even coming from your shower drain, and don’t expect amazing food around the area (in fact be careful and don’t get sick!). But, if you choose to come to Railay, Sand Sea was very nice. Very spacious room, good location, good cleaners coming at good times. The grounds were well kept, spectacle monkeys kept us entertained in my favorite- the garden pool. Getting to and from Railay is a pain. Took Phi Phi ferry which drops you on Railay West where you wade in knee deep water with your luggage. Despite giving notice, no one from hotel came to get our bags. Leaving we took a long boat from Railay East to Krabi airport. Arranged outside of hotel for 1/2 price. Hotel gave us a ride on golf cart to pier but a lot of carrying of luggage on the bouncy “pier” to get to the boat, and on the boat I got soaked...
We experienced terrible service from the people in reception, in the restaurant & in the mini Mart. The cleaning staff & women working in the spa were good. Several times we waited around for a very, very long time to order dinner & pay our bill & get their assistance in general. They were all standing around "B.S.ing" with each other & it got to the point where I had to stare them down awkwardly. They also told us when we checked in that we had breakfast included & gave us the coupons for every day we were there to give to the staff in the morning. So, not normally being breakfast people, we decided to wake up earlier than necessary before our 8 am tour to take advantage of the breakfast. We get there, make our plates & give the coupons over without an issue. Well once we're done, one of them came over to inform me I had to pay for breakfast. I said there must be some sort of mistake & went to talk to the gal at reception. Turns out she says they made a mistake & confused our room & said I had to pay 25 bucks when all I had was fruit, some bread & coffee! I tried to explain to her we would not have even eaten at all if we weren't given the coupons & told us it'd be free. She just blankly stared at me & couldn't say anything to help me, she did not even apologize for their mistake. Then, the phone rings & she picks it up, saying nothing to me, talks on there for a minute. Then a lady came up to check out & she addressed her, still saying nothing to me! Very rude, bad service
We were upgraded immediately after complaining about the smell in our first room. 2nd room spacious modern and clean.
We decided to stay one night in Railay Beach prior to heading out to Kho Phi Phi. The restaurant on the property had good food and service. Be prepared that they do not sell alcohol at this Muslim owned property, however, they will allow you to bring it in if you desire a beverage to accompany your meal. Our room was spacious and appears good, however there was a bad smell in the room that seemed to be a combination of bathroom smell and bad odor from A/C (smelled urine-ish). There were monkeys on the property that made a morning visit. Be prepared that the water at the beach is not clear and is green and cloudy with algae. Otherwise, the sand was nice and the surrounding environment is beautiful.
This place is awesome!! Right on the beach, amazing views from restraunt and pool, amazing pool amazing food. The free breakfast buffet was incredible I couldn't get enough. I'm usually not a big eater but I had at least 5 big plates of amazing food. Could t stop eating. Plus wifi works great for your girlfriends Facebook needs ;) haha. Best in the area I can confidently say. We stayed at many on railey and this was the best
