Well what can I say each year gets better, love this hotel, family, and the island of Kos, There are no bad remarks to say about anything , Love everything about Sunny View, Friendly and lovely family, rooms excellent, pool excellent, food excellent, every thing is very clean and tidy , see you next year Val and Gary xxxxxxx
We stayed as a couple mid September for a week at Sunny View hotel. The hotel is kept very clean. Our room number 45 was a good size. Plenty of space in the wardrobe and drawers. Bathroom is up to date wuth nice shower. Unusual for Greece it had an enclosed shower cubicle. Breakfast was continental but you could eat as much as you wanted. The mum will cook a fresh boiled egg if you ask. The family are lovely, kind people. Plenty of sun beds around the pool. The sun is all around the pool all day. No beds are in the shade and there are plenty of umbrellas. I would return to this hotel but would just have bed and breakfast as there are very nice restaurants in town at reasonable prices along the harbour.
We stayed in Sunny View September 2015 and had so much fun. The hotel is basic but it's clean the pool area wis very pretty with loads of flowers and little plants, the staff are friendly, but that's all we needed. Sunny View is great for couples and families. We were staying in kos for a family wedding and there was a total of 12 people from the wedding party all staying in Sunny View and we all enjoyed it. My parents are planning on going back next year. As it's a family run hotel it isn't a big place but they do all they can to make you feel welcome and comfortable, they even offered to put on a special night where we could bring the rest of the wedding party back to the hotel for drinks and a bit of Greek culture, oh and at Christmas we all received christmas cards from the family which is such a wonderful touch. It's a short walk to bars and restaurants but taxis are available but this means as it's not in the main hustle and bustle of it all the nights are quiet and peaceful. We got a view out towards the sea and rest of our group got pool views or pool side room. Not forgetting that every tuesday night is greek night where they have greek food, BBQ and greek dancing, this was our first night and it was so much fun. Would definitely recommend if you want a cheap and cheerful holiday in kos.
Visited for 2 weeks in August 2016. My husband could not accompany us so I was a little nervous - I didn't need to be! Our room was spotlessly clean and the pool is large and hygienic. There are plenty of sun loungers and always somewhere to lay - even in August! The hotel is situated a 25 minute walk into town or a €6 taxi ride, which the owners of the hotel will happily book for you. The family are so accommodating and take pride in pleasing the guests. They could not have made us feel more welcome and comfortable. We stayed half board and were provided with a lovely choice of a home cooked meal, including starter, salad, main and desert (every evening). Breakfast is self service and plentiful (bread rolls, cheese, ham, yoghurt, fresh fruit, cake, toast, jams, hot drinks or juice). The weekly BBQ night is not to be missed - we made some lovely friends and had a great night! The walk to the beach is a bit of a treck in the heat but, if you walk slightly up to the right when you get there, the Atlantis bar has great loungers and does lovely food (tried the burgers and the stifado) they have laid sand bags across the small stretch of stones to make it easy to access the sea. The beach here is lovely and sandy and clean. Snorkelling is fabulous - so many amazing fish to see!! You must not miss visiting Nissyros while you're so close - it's an amazing experience (buy water if you're going to walk down into the crater!). I would recommend Sail Away for excursions - especially the fishing trip, which also takes you to Paradise beach for 2 hours. Back to the hotel: the cleaners do a great job every day and Jordan (handyman?) works so hard! George and Katarina and their son Francis (who manages the hotel) make it a very special place. Air con is definitely needed and reasonably priced. The room has a small fridge and hairdryer and there is a safe deposit box for a small charge. The gardens are lush and beautiful and most excursion companies will pick up and drop off right outside - where the bus stop is. It's on a main junction but this does spoil the tranquil setting and the gorgeous views of the mountains. The ONLY negative (which is beyond control of the owners!) is the mosquitos outside during the evening. The best place in Kardamena town to eat? Probably Pegalos - the lemon sea bass was something special!! If you like kebabs, you can't beat Rio's (by the taxi square) or Tio's (on the front) for gyros for €2.50-3.00! To sum up: fabulous little family run hotel that you will want to return to as soon as possible!! I know we do! Thank you George (Best!), Katarina and Francis ... We will be back! Elaine, James (Bond!) and Grace xxx
Me and my partner booked a 2 week stay here from July-August, we had never been to Greece before and this was by far the best first impression you could ask for. The family are wonderful, they are the kindest most thoughtful people you could ever meet, they always go out of their way to help you no matter the time of day! They are all so friendly and really do make up a huge part of your stay George & Frances' banter is on top!! We made some life long friends whilst we were here and plan on all of us coming back next year. It is a 20-30 minute walk to the town, you have to choices to either walk down the main road ( which isn't too busy & is one straight road ) or you can walk along the beach, I'd advise not to do this once dark as they have a lack of street lights, a taxi from the hotel to the town is only 6 euro and the hotel will book it for you. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, with the cleaners coming every day ( if you would like ). It is only a small hotel therefore you'll never have to worry about rushing down in the morning to grab a sun bed, it is both family and couple friendly. I highly recommend anyone who is considering visiting Kardamena to go to Sunny View as you will NOT be disappointed. Also Greek night every Tuesday is a must!
This hotel is the best we have been to on Kos-the family are very very caring and go out of their way to help and make their guests comfortable. Rooms are immaculately clean and the gardens are incredibly beautiful despite Greeces dry summer. The gardener works non-stop to keep things "tip top" nothing is too much trouble. He collects figs and other fruit in the mornings for the guests (when in season) Where else would this happen?, certainly not in an all inclusive hotel. The pool is very very clean and is fed with spring water from below so is not full of chlorine like uk pools. The cleaners were very friendly and did some lovely touches in our room like sitting my sons teddy on a cushion which really made his day, and folding his pyjamas etc, small things that meant a lot. A real attention to detail. Each room at the rear has a lovely balcony with sea view. If you want relaxation with a lovely family this is for you, if you fancy More "party time" it's fab too as , Kardomena is not far in a taxi, or 20 mins beautiful coastal walk. You can then sleep off your hangover in peace by the pool the next day. The beach is close by (Atlantis) and has a great cafe with lovely food and the kindest waiter I ever met! Franz is incredible, I felt if anything had gone wrong, health / illness etc, he would look after his guests like you were his own family. He really cares about his guests and remembers everyone's name. We went to the bbq and he arranged special meal for me as I don't have red meat. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is home-cooked and "cooked with love" (unlike chain hotels where it's standard Fayre doled out day after day) George is just the nicest guy, very interesting to chat with as he has lived and travelled all over the world. He too remembers everyone's names and makes a mean cocktail! Katarina and Laura are lovely, I felt my son and my family would be cared for by them like their own family if we needed something health wise etc which was important to me. The family even gave my husband a birthday card B's made a real fuss of him on his birthday! This is the sort of hotel where you can do your own thing if you aren't feeling like it, there is no pressure, but if you like to be more tsociable, that's ok too. My husband are indeed opposite sociability wise-a perfect ying and yang -but we both found what we were looking for. I cannot find any negative things to say-outstanding. Karen (Mrs McQueen)
Just returned after a fantastic 2 weeks at Sunny View family run hotel. Staff very friendly and can not do enough for you. George so charming and such a lovely man, Frantzis always smiling and will go out of his way as with his mum, who cooked the beautiful Greek food. She also has given us cooking advice, food was lovely we went half board and could not complain about anything. Rooms clean and well maintained. Air conditioning a must it was so hot at night. Plenty of sun beds around the pool, gardens well maintained and beautiful. Greek night is a must, every one joins in with the traditional Greek dancers. Bus stop straights outside hotel to Kardamena, 1.80 euros or you can get a taxie at 6 euros, the walk along the beach to Kardamena is lovely takes about 25 minutes. Beach approximately 15 mins walk. We have met some lovely people during our stay, some of who are regulars to the hotel who showed us the sights and advised us of the beautiful places to visit. We will be returning in September 2017. We recommend this hotel if you want to experience friendly Greek hospitality and want to relax and have a stress free holiday. We could not fault anything.
Me and my best friend stayed here for a week during August. The weather was amazing, and it was a great little place to stay and a €6 taxi ride from the centre of Kardamena. The food at the hotel was lovely, just what you need at lunch time and at a reasonable price. The hotel is owned by a lovely Greek family who clearly would do anything to make your stay comfortable. George was a little cheeky, but this was rather funny. The rooms were simple but perfect for a friends getaway and cheap stay. I would recommend for families and also friends. Also the pool is great! I wouldn't go again but mainly because when you go to Kardamena once, you've pretty much done the majority of things there is to do! The only down side was that we couldn't figure out how to get the air con on a perfect temperature, I kept on waking up as I was too cold. When we turned it off it would be too hot.
Stayed at sunny view for 10 nights lovely hotel very friendly. 25 min walk to main town or bus stop directly outside hotel costing 1 euro 80. Room was lovely great shower and bathroom wifi free all over hotel. Couple of English channels on tv. Greek night and barbecue every Tuesday which as always in Greece is a great night. Hotel couldn't do enough advising on trips. Car hire etc. We stayed bed and breakfast which consisted of help yourself Continental which was absolutely fine for us. Cant comment on all inclusive we had a couple of meals at hotel. Only negative is you can get better value for money on meals in town which really is to be expected although the food we did have was delicious for the same price in town you got a larger plateful. If not for a bit of sidesalad which is pretty inexpensive we would have eaten more at the hotel which is a shame as we feel it would attract more people to eat there and make them more competitive with the resteraunts in town. All in all great holiday nicely situated hotel run by a lovely family very clean.
Spent a week at Sunny View with my daughter and from the moment we arrived, we were welcomed. George, Kristina and their family are exceptional hosts, nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is clean, the pool is lovely. My only criticism is I thought it was closer to town, but that is Thomson fault not the hotel. We had a lovely holiday and I would highly recommend Sunny View x
