I went with my 11-year-old son it was excellent, just the two of us, we had a great time, all the restaurants were great, especially the Buffie always made to feel welcome. All the staff was very friendly and accommodating from housekeeping to the bartenders and chefs. The rooms were lovely just what we needed for the little amount of time we spent in it. It was relaxing and just a wonderful experience

Just back from an excellent two weeks at the Astir Odysseus on Kos. Do not hesitate to book this fantastic hotel, it absolutely deserves each one of its five stars. In fact we were so impressed we decided to write an extensive review to really give this place the praise it fully deserves. Service: Good service or lack thereof can make or break a holiday. The service here was second to none. Nothing was too much trouble and we were always greeted with a smile. The staff here seem genuinely happy to be working at the Astir Odysseus and their attention to detail and willingness to help was very much appreciated by us. All the major things were dealt with professionally and courteously but it was the little, unnecessary gestures that really stood out for us and made the holiday extra special. For example, the bar staff knew our preferred drinks and even had them ready for us as we approached the bar. The waiting staff got to know our little boy and were on first name terms from the start (Anastasia and Fiodor). The entertainment staff were great fun, enthusiastic, energetic and always found time to chat despite their busy schedule. The cleaners did a super job every day and attended to our little notes we left if we had a certain request. Our minibar was stocked each day. The beach was cleaned and maintained by the friendly caretaker. The reception staff always had the answers to our random questions and were always available to help. Last but not least the manager, Julia, seemed to be everywhere all at the same time. Her attentiveness really was the key to the well-functioning of this hotel and every detail going awry was noticed and fixed immediately. Together with the staff, Julia and her team are simply fantastic and absolutely made the holiday for us. Room: We had a double sea front room and it was lovely. Large, clean, comfortable and immaculately clean. Our five year old had a single sofa bed which was very high quality and they provided a proper mattress for him to sleep on. The bathroom was large, stocked with all the toiletries you could need as well as clean towels, and the shower was powerful. We had a balcony overlooking the pool and sea with a table and chairs, which is where we spent our evenings with a glass of wine while our son slept. The a/c worked perfectly, the room was well-insulated/very quiet and private, and there's a safe. Food and drink: Oh wow, the food. This was my biggest worry when booking an all-inclusive holiday but you need not worry here. I have never eaten so well in my life. There was such a good range of high-quality food that you could eat something different every day for two weeks. The chefs do a great job. Breakfast options included continental, full-English, breads, cereals, waffles, pancakes, fruits, even a traditional Greek breakfast. For lunch we usually ate at the beautiful Argo BBQ taverna on the sea front. There was a range of BBQ meats and fish, as well as plenty of pasta, salads and fruits. Ice cream for afters was next-door at the Dawn bar and available all day, as were snacks for AI guests. At 16:30 every day a range of pastries, muffins, tea, coffee and juice were available at the bar. For dinner we ate at the main Achilles restaurant, and again, there was a substantial variety of foods to accommodate anyone's tastes as well as delicious deserts. Allergy information is presented on the label for each dish which was also useful and well thought-through. The restaurants and bars themselves are just lovely. Spacious, nicely laid out, comfortable with a choice of seating areas - inside if you need a break from the sun and some air-conditioning and outside next to the water and under some shade. The bars and lobby were the same; cool, spacious and beautifully appointed. Pools: As we were on the seafront we stayed mostly at the enormous lagoon pool. The hotel was running at full-capacity and it was high-season, but you would never know it. With two main, large pools and two other pools for the swim up rooms, there was plenty of space. Some days we could count the total number of people in the pool on two hands. The pools are immaculately clean, warm, and you cannot smell chlorine or other chemicals. There were plenty of sun beds with parasols and we never went without despite a number of selfish guests ignoring the 'do not reserve' signs - the towel brigade were down every morning long before breakfast but that's not the hotel's fault. That said, for some reason the towel brigade preferred the poolside sun beds which left the sun beds between the beach and the pool free, which suited us better anyway (best of both worlds). Beach: Small but perfectly formed. Immaculately clean, the beach won a blue flag earlier in the year. The water was crystal clear and despite a constant breeze, we swam in the toasty warm sea most days. The beach is quite stony so sand shoes are recommended but they sell them at the shop for a reasonable price. We managed without. We also paid a bit extra to use a pedalo and a jet ski which was great fun. Miniclub: When I read the reviews on Trip Advisor before we went I could not find much information on the Miniclub, so I will do this review justice by giving some detailed information. The Miniclub offers a morning session (10-12.30) and an afternoon session (3-5) for kids aged four-twelve. It's primarily in English, but they are also fluent in French, German and Greek. Our little man is five and went most days to the morning session. He LOVED it. In the morning, under the shade in the sandy club playground they play games, do some arts and crafts and play. There's fresh cold drinking water for the kids and a toilet. Elora and Katerina were fantastic; attentive, full of energy, kind, fun, and genuinely care for the kids. You have to sign your child in and sign them out, so it's safe. We felt completely confident in his safety which gave us 2.5 blissful hours to eat breakfast, read the paper and sunbathe. In the afternoon they take the kids to the children's pool (55cm deep). They say there's a maximum of one carer to ten kids but in reality the ratio was usually better. There were normally around ten - fifteen kids altogether each time we took our son. The best bit about the morning session was the 12.00 game where the winner gets a diploma which is then presented after the Minidisco. The Minidisco is held everyday from 20.30-21.00 and was the highlight of our son's day. Numerous kids songs in multiple languages - he knew them all by the end of the holiday. And he won the diploma twice which made him the 'proudest he'd ever been'. Towel change: Don't waste valuable suitcase space with towels. The towels in the room were always fresh and you could collect clean beach towels as often as required from the Miniclub. It all worked perfectly. Sports: We were more lazy than active, but should you wish to participate there were all kinds of sports available; archery, ping pong, footy, basketball, Zumba, water volleyball, beach volleyball, a climbing wall, and aquagym. Aquagym was the highlight of our day where the animation boss, Denis, went all out performing his routines in some fabulous costumes. I won't say more because it will spoil the surprise, but Denis provided all the feel-good factor you could wish for. Entertainment: Denis and the entire Animation team worked tirelessly keeping people entertained. Sports, dancing, Miniclub, mini gym, they were all super. Nikos, the evening piano player really captured the heart of our little boy. He even let him 'help' play some songs and gave him a CD. Since we've come home, the CD has been playing on repeat and our son has registered for piano lessons. What an inspiration. Landscaping and buildings: The hotel is very cleverly laid out, with plenty of space, beautiful landscaping and flowers, and attractive low-rise buildings. There's a nice playground for the kids. In the lobby there's a shop with everything you might need and a jewellery shop where I spent too much money ;-). Atmosphere: The hotel has a very calm, laid back, high-quality atmosphere to it. It feels relaxed, with no drunken chavs and no loud bad-behaviour despite constant access to drinks etc. Nationalities were mostly Germans and Brits with some Dutch and French. Even the kids were well-behaved and we rarely saw tantrums and screaming etc. Altogether, the clientele were nice people and if you put them together with the amazing staff, the whole holiday was very relaxed and carefree, just as holidays should be. Location: We ventured into Kos which was 12 euros flat fare in a taxi and took 15 minutes. Sadly we saw the recent earthquake damage, but the Island has bounced back and the friendly locals, nice tavernas and cute shops was the silver lining to that particular sad cloud. By the way the hotel did not suffer any damage in the earthquake. It's very new and built to stringently high standards. We felt numerous aftershocks but never felt worried. We would go back in a heartbeat and intend to book again for next year, this time with the extended family in tow.

We booked two rooms for our family and joined our friends who were already there in August 2017. The quality of the staff is second to none. So friendly and polite. Nothing is too much trouble genuinely. The location is lovely, providing beautiful views wherever you go or chill. The rooms are spotlessly cleaned daily with plenty of drinks in the fridge. The swim up pool rooms are great but I would be equally happy with a sea view room (which our older children had). We dined in Argo this year for the Al a Carte - which was superb! The animation team work tirelessly throughout the day and night to entertain - without being in your face. A particular highlight for me this year was when we made a request for a "Britney" song at tomorrow's "water gym", Denis provided a full Britney ensemble, complete with ringmaster outfit and new choreography! Denis and Francesca - WE LOVE YOU! I highly recommend this place and no doubt will return again as the quality keeps pulling me back.

We've stayed in August 2017. It was a family vacation booked in 2 rooms. Basically and all in all the hotel kept it promises, service was extremely friendly, everything was very clean and in good shape and organization was good. It is a big resort and walking from one end to the other could take 5 minutes - not a problem I'd guess. The offer of different room types is quite big and you should have a look in these options before you decide (balcony, seaview, private/shared pools...). You should take into account that there is "nothing" in walking distance but the bus stop for a tour to Kos is right opposite the hotel entrance and schedule is every 45 min. The people on vacation are mainly UK, Russia and central Europe. I won't sing any of these songs about experiences with this but could not complain at all. As said, recommended....

Another amazing holiday for us a family of four, 2 adults and two 17 year olds. From start to finish we had a truly relaxing 5 star break ! Arrived to a welcome drink and a thank you for returning ! We emailed before leaving to ask for rooms to be close together and nearer the beach! We got exactly this! In fact we had the exact room we stayed in on our last visit with our teenagers next door! Rooms are excellent, fantastic aircon, soundproofed, excellent showers and a daily refilled mini bar! Rooms cleaned everyday! We were touched by our tray of treats and bottle of wine as a thank you for returning! Food was excellent something for everyone, we didn't try the al carte but tried the BBQ and main restaurant. Not as much salad choice at the BBQ which is my favourite but plenty of meat! Main restaurant food had so much choice, fresh stone baked pizzas, salad galore and lots of meat /fresh fish! Always plenty of English food for those who want it! (Not me) breakfast was to die for! Cereals, jams, yoghurts, fruit, waffles, pancakes, juices and every cooked breakfast item you could possibly think of! Fresh coffee too served to your table! My only gripe would be there could be more waiters/waitress to clear away. We enjoyed the wines available with our meal, staff attentive and got to know us and what we liked so were quick to serve us. Afternoon tea - lots available, sandwich, cakes and pastries galore! Drinks- well let's just say although not branded we're great! We tried every cocktail available all great but strong haha waiters even offer tequila shots with salt and lemon! We had a few surprise cocktails which the waiters created these were amazing! We never had to wait to be served! Bar staff at both bars work incredibly hard! Pools are amazing although our favourite was the lagoon pool nearest the beach! Sun beds got taken by about 9.30-10.00 but I'm an early bird and love looking out to sea so was on my sunbed by 8.30 (sea views). The pool never felt crowded! Water gym was a laugh! Animation team were friendly and not pushy which is great for us! The beach although very rocky was great I advise beach shoes or buy a lilo to sit on to get over the first 3 metres before it's clear blue and sand. Water sports available ! We used the gym which was busy at times and on the small side but manageable, only gripe is no mats available. We had a free massage whilst there- wow the best back massage I have had! Prices quite expensive although I didn't take further treatments apart from my freebie. The reception staff were very professional and friendly as all staff were! I will definitely be returning and would recommend this 5 star hotel to anyone!

I've been here more than once. And every year staying in this hotel is pure luxury. The staff is always trying to help the guests and do there job with passion and great dedication. Never one unfriendly remark, always looking for possibilities and service. Food is wonderful. The once a week service to eat in the a la carte Argos restaurant where they prepare you a dinner that is so refined makes you feel that you are in a Michelin star restaurant. In the main restaurant there is so much variety in what you can eat and the quality is very high. Animation team is great also, always smiling, being social to everyone but never in a obtrusive way. I will certainly return again.

This Resort is one of the best I have seen so far. We stayed there for 14 nights, All inclusive with 2 Kids at the age of 3 and 5. A great Resort, with excellent and very friendly staff. The entire Resort is in an exceptional shape and very well maintained. The General Manager is always present and approachable for all guests, should there be any reasons. You should book the Excecutive Rooms, as you do have Access to the more quiet pool area, without the Music of the daily "workouts", such as aerobics classes, etc. Food is also of very high Quality and very tasty!

Just ending our stay at this excellent hotel. Rooms excellent with a swim up pool perfect for the final swim of the day. Spent most of our time by the beach pool - able to get sun beds as late as 9.45 so need for early alarms! Food in main restaurant excellent - plenty of choice even for the vegetarians in our family. Son injured himself playing football and the care and attention of so many of the staff in the hotel was outstanding, nothing was too much trouble. So many of the staff are friendly and attentive. Rooms very comfortable and well cleaned. Travelled with First Choice and their rep too went above and beyond in helping after son's accident going to the hospital to help. We have been to many all inclusive hotels and this is amongst the very best in so many ways. Thank you to all the staff who made our stay such a positive experience. Only suggestions would be to build a bar you could swim up to and improve the variety of the evening shows.

Stayed for 7 nights in July. Had a great time, food was excellent, staff very friendly and attentive. Lots of swimming pools to enjoy, though a water slide or two for kids would have been a bonus. Would thoroughly recommend.

We stayed here for a week with friends. We had rooms with a shared swimming pool which were very nice and private. Hotel also offers two large pools, one of which is directly next to the beach. This means you can lie next to the pool but also take a dive in the sea. All-inclusive food and drinks are very good, but not the top brands (which is the case in many all-inclusive resorts though). Staff are very friendly and attentive. Rooms are large and clean. Free and reliable wifi. There is nothing else to do in the immediate area of the resort, you would have to take a car to Kos stad or visit other sites on the islands. Recommended.
