Good price quality ratio, clean place, everyday room cleaning, good location, near of kardamena center, pool is just across the road and nice senior man. Many little markets near and very good Greece restaurants.
Not far away from the beach and five minutes from all the shops can be expensive in the high season to eat out the restaurant next door was good value and choice did not take up the breakfast there was a hotel across the road served an excellent breakfast and very reasonable overall basic but clean !!!
On arrival to this hotel we waited 20 mins to be seen the guy was pleasant in booking us in however didnt have a clue he was expecting any one the hotel it self was clean but basic we got told they was a bar thats a lie the shower has no pressure its like manuel from faulty towers got given the full reigns of the hotel and 5 euro for air con in such a warm place this should be free we are paying for the hotel any how
We went back to Kardamena for a second time in one summer so we thought we'd go budget this time (especially as we barely stayed in or used the pool last time) so we chose Andavis. After reading the reviews I was a bit apprehensive but really, there's nothing to worry about - as long as you know what to expect. It is a basic apartment, with what you need for a decent stay: shower and toilet, decent beds, we had a balcony, there was a fridge and an old tv but only Greek channels. It's a little bit worn but it's clean. Rooms get cleaned and towels got changed everyday except sundays. There is wifi but only in common areas - it was great! My best friend had to actually talk to me. Location was great. Just off the town about 3 minutes walk from all the bars, restaurants, beach and shops. Breakfast is a couple of pieces of bread with jam and butter, juice and coffee/tea. I wasn't surprised cause I saw the reviews so if that's not your thing, don't get breakfast and get it somewhere else. There's no pool but you can use the one right across the road, it looked great but we never used it cause we're more beach people. The owner can't speak much English but we found him to be helpful. He even let us check out at 7pm for a little extra. I would recommend this to those who are just looking for somewhere to put their head down at night and spend most the day and night out enjoying Kardamena (which, personally, is the way I think it should be). If you're like us and would rather spend the extra cash on being out and about, then I think you should consider Andavis.
Worked in Kardamena last year and returned for a holiday two weeks ago. Hotel manager is the rudest person I have ever met in my whole life! As soon as we arrived in our taxi he already started shouting at us as we had our documents on our phone instead of paper. As we booked a cheap holiday we weren't expecting 5* but all the owner seemed to care about was money. Not a day went by where we left the hotel without being spoken to rudely or shouted at! He overcharged us for air con, and if we didn't pay it then he would threaten us and say he'd kick us out, so we had no other option then to pay. I'm not one to usually rant, but myself and my friends found this man incredibly rude!
First of all the pros; the hotel is very clean, and well looked after by its singular owner (though sometimes helped by his daughter), and with this you receive the basic expected amenities (towels, bed sheets, etc)... I'm afraid that's where the positives end though. The owner which greeted us with a spiteful 'what!' until he found out we were actually guests (why else would we be at the check in desk) is rude and unprofessional, it also seems he also has a prejudice against younger people. During our stay we accidentally broke our room key, which we admitted was our own fault, however when telling the owner he exploded into a mad rage in Greek, clearly swearing at us! We were happy to pay the 5€ fine, so the screaming was uncalled for and just plain rude! The air con for the room was charged at 5€ a day (something you'd except to be free in a hot country) which when leaving your room automatically turned off, and adding to this when the owner cleaned your room he leaves the balcony door open letting hot air in and a dozen mosquitos! On the plus side, free use of the pool across the road was a plus (even though it seemed free anyways), although prices here are very expensive! I do not recommend staying here, as paying the little extra for a nicer hotel would have made our stay in Kardenema a lot more comfortable.
Really did not enjoy our stay. We got there at the time we said we would check in only to wait around an empty reception for 30 minutes waiting around for the owner. Then, we were told we had to pay extra for air conditioning, which is usually a staple in other hotels on the island. The room came with a to which didn't work, which was frustrating. We also paid for breakfast, and felt cheated when we were given two pieces of stale bread and some watered down squash lemonade. The whole experience was very inhospitable and we felt that the hotel was trying to steal our money. Would not recommend or come again.
Spotless hotel short distance to the beach. no pool but bar & pool across the road, owner is very helpful & a hard worker, the rooms were cleaned every day, aircon worked a treat for 5 euros a day def going back as we were very happy here ....thank you Nikos...from Angela & Alan
5* yes yes yes. Excellent location, 2 mins from the beach and the bar streets. Very clean, safe and friendly owner who will do everything for you. Room cleaned every day etc the hotel is a budget hotel so just what you need but comfy double bed in my room, sockets for Razor, fridge in room, lovely balcony. 30 degrees in May in Kos
Although this hotel is quite basic, it was a lot cleaner than some of the more expensive hotels we have stayed in. There is no pool but, you can use the pool at the Agrelli apartments just across the road from the hotel. The father Nikos and daughter Anna who run this hotel were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. They do all their own cleaning, maintenance, washing etc. Towels were changed every day, bins emptied every day, toilet rolls replaced and sheets changed regularly. Although there was a large group of boys staying at this hotel for one of the weeks we were there, we had no problems with noise or disrespect. It was a very peaceful two weeks. Would happily stay there again.
