My husband and I wanted a week to relax and enjoy a bit of adults only time. The hotel is gorgeous! Opened last year, everything is in excellent condition. We had a junior suite with sea view and a jacuzzi. Our room was spacious and tastefully decorated (in a typically Greek white style with grey/blue accents) with an enormous balcony, a luxurious double shower and a very comfy super-king size bed. The shared spaces are equally lush, with plenty of sun beds overlooking the infinity pool (don’t have to fight for space here). Pool bar does all day drinks and snacks too. We were on a B&B basis, so only chose to eat dinner at the hotel once, but it was good value. There weren’t many traditional Greek options on the menu but don’t let that deter you, it’s still very good! If you share something (like salad as a starter), they’ll upsize generously, which was nice! The breakfasts were also excellent: plenty of choice - even for a pregnant, gluten intolerant woman! Staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful too. One bit of feedback for the hotel: it would’ve been appreciated to have complimentary water throughout our stay. At €3 / litre bottle from the pool bar this would’ve been quite expensive for two for a whole weeks’ stay. We avoided this by buying a multipack from the supermarket, so not a big thing, but worth mentioning. Other small hotels we’ve stayed at in the Greek islands limited plastic wastage by having filtered drinking water that they bottled themselves - this would be a environmentally friendly option and cheaper for guests. Kefalos itself is much quieter - and more Greek-feeling - than the overdeveloped north of the island (which we preferred). I hope it stays that way! There’s Kefalos beach, where there are plenty of supermarkets, bars, tavernas, and sun loungers to rent, and a lovely little port where the fisherman bring in their catch every morning (tip: if you’re eating out, ask for the fresh fish of the day - it’ll have been plucked from the sea that morning! You can’t get fresher or tastier!). A kilometre or so up the hill is Kefalos village, a sweet little town that’s worth walking around and stopping for coffee. The locals are so friendly! We had a car for the week which was indispensable if you want to explore. Agios Stefanos beach, Tripiti beach and Agios Theologos beach are all worth a visit (excellent restaurant at that last one - as well as a little honey shack at the side of the road on the way down - be sure to take some home!). Kos town is a lovely trip out (half a day max), very pretty and not overdeveloped surprisingly. Overall, we spent the week in gorgeous surroundings, eating beautiful, fresh food and are leaving rested and well-fed!
Lovely hotel , tranquil , very friendly staff , great room . Views fantastic Yes you really need a car here , and the hill slope / location wont be for everyone ...but we couldnt fault it ! To top it all ...the weather was perfect all week , and we saw a lot of this beautiful island too . Would definitely return , if we get the chance . Thank you White Rock of Kos :)
I have wrote about this gorgeous little gem of a place twice before. Just think with all thats been going on on the Island and Kefalos in recent months an update is needed. The Hotel is very new and we stayed within weeks of opening they the staff work tirelessly to make your stay an oasis of relaxation.. The views are breathtaking the hotel stunning and everything about this place is pristine. There is possibly competition from the new Resort in kefalos bay, it looks gorgeous However i like my comfort and work hard to stay in Boutique resorts when i travel. This Small stunning hotel has to be my favourite place to relax ever.. I sat on my veranda toes in my private pool and looked at the view 'breathtaking you just soak it up and feel the calm and warmth this place delivers. Im no travel writer but as a man thats traveled the world to destinations most will never have heard of.. I can honestly tell you.. Book this Hotel and treat yourself to the experience that you only thought lottery winners and Premiership footballers enjoy unbelievable place..
We can only express our gratitude and warmest regards to all who work at this wonderful Hotel The fact i do not get to spend much time with a young lady who puts up with a Dad serving his country in difficult climates away from home constantly and just wanted time with her Dad I can sum up this Hotel and holiday in one word AWESOME... You made a little girl and her family extremley happy And i am proud to call you all our friends. If you get the oportunity to visit Kos you must stay at least one night here Stunning.. Thank you all
Great views, lovely customer service and gorgeous rooms! Only downsides was the location as very out of the way and the shuttle bus doesn't run that often, also the main pool was bitterly cold, boiling hot day and everyone was getting straight out of the pool as too cold to stay in. Overall I would stay again though, food was tasty and the room really was outstanding!
This is a lovely hotel with lovely, helpful staff, incredible views and exceptionally clean. Greeted at midnight after our flight with a cocktails, warm welcome and a wonderful upgrade to a pool room (a must!) Our room was incredibly clean and well equipt, everything was perfect, only thing i would have been grateful to have was blackout curtains and an iron in the room! In addition, a little more warning on when our pool would be clean as most times we would lounging in privacy and then a man would appear at the bottom of your sun lounger testing the water, little awkward... Our room was at the bottom level of the hotel so even though we are both very fit and active this was a very steep hill and in the Greek sun it was too intense at times so a lot of the time we did have to call for the golf buggy. This would not suit anyone with any walking difficulties unless you're happy to wait for the golf buggy everytime you wanted to go to the large pool/restuarant/your room/breakfast etc If you're hoping to eat out in nearby Kefalos a car is a must. There is a complimentary shuttle service but times aren't great for evenings out; either out for early dinner or very late. Taxis are almost unheard of and if you do manage to get one (easier to find a unicorn - there is an issue with them coming to the hotel), the cost is ludicrous - 30€ for a ten minute journey! Food and views at the hotel restuarant are wonderful both at breakfast and the evening, We could not fault this and dinner is highly recommended if you stay (also portions are huge, you could even share a main meal) Overall, would highly recommend this hotel, perfect escapism!
My wife treated me to a few nights away for my 40th and what a treat this place is. The staff are outstanding and cannot do enough for you. Savvos who ran us up and down the hill on the golf cart gave us superb tips on where to eat etc and every one was a great shout. The food at the hotel is excellent especially breakfast. The rooms are stunning and we got a free upgrade on arrival. It was luxurious in every sense. The views and the pool are breathtaking and you can happily just gaze out across Kamari bay for hours. Once again though I have to stress the staff at this place really make it special. Whether it’s the ladies at reception, or the staff in the restaurant and bar they cannot do enough to make your stay as good as it can be.
This was our second visit to the White Rock and we can't recommend this place enough. The views are absolutely amazing and I can't think of a more relaxing place to be. The staff are all extremely polite and helpful. Thanks for a great holiday!
From when we turned up till the day we left it was amazing very helpful staff and beautiful view from the apartment we stayed in! The drinks and food there are beautiful as well really made are stay there amazing.
Recently returned from a relaxing week at this superb hotel. We were upgraded to a pool room, with stunning views that it’s impossible to tire of. Room was luxurious and the hotel although full never seemed busy. We were on B and B and the breakfasts were always excellent with a range of fresh local produce to help yourself from. Staff very attentive without being intrusive. We hired a car from the airport as it was cheap but there is a good shuttle service and it’s possible to walk to the village in 15/20 minutes. We didn’t have dinner in the hotel but the menu looked good. There are loads of excellent restaurants in Kefelos, all reasonably priced and some great beaches too. Absolutely faultless hotel and would return definitely.
