We stayed for three days, intending to visit historical sites on Kos. This we did, and were quite happy with our choice of hotel, recommended by some friends as being very friendly. although the hotel did not provide an evening meal, we found a very reasonable Italian, Mezzaluna, within very easy walking distance.
We stayed here for a week and felt very much at home. The room was adequate, with a nice balcony and view of the sunset each evening. Kettle but no tea or coffee, which was a shame. The room was cleaned everyday which was fantastic. The bathroom was fine. The shower tended to flood as the drains were blocked, the shower curtain was also just annoying. Breakfast was fine. Very basic and little variety but it set one up for the day and was good value when considered. All the staff are very friendly and the hotel is situated in a great location just slightly out of the centre but within a few minutes walk of it.
The staff and owners were wonderful. They were friendly, helpful, efficient, and generally useful as well as kind. The room was serviceable, nothing special. The worst things was that it was impossible to shower without creating a flood in the bathroom, in part because the shower curtain was installed improperly (too high so it didn't go into the basin but barely touched the top edge) and in part because the shower head needed to be tightened so that you could aim it. (We stayed in 3 hotels of about the same type on our trip, and all of them had the same type of shower, and for various reasons, flooding was a problem in all 3 of them!) It had a balcony and we could see the sea a block away; the balcony had a table and chairs on it, which was nice. The air conditioner didn't work especially well, but it did help. There was a small (dorm-type) fridge and an electric kettle in the room -- no coffee maker. Breakfast was fine, but after a week, we needed some variety! The quality was good, but they served basically the exact same thing every day. Having access to a pool was fabulous, even though it's not directly at the hotel. It's across the street and down a couple of buildings, so about a 2-minute walk. The cleaning staff did a fantastic job and was totally trustworthy. We didn't worry for a second about our things. The location was excellent. It was an easy walk to the city center, right along the coast if you want. The coast was 2.5 minutes away (just across the coast road from the pool), although a beach was a bit further. Excellent ice cream/bakery and a number of restaurants were close by. The town bus has a stop next to the hotel with the pool access, and the bus station (for trips to Zia, the airport, etc.) is maybe a 10-15-minute walk. All in all, we had a nice stay for a good price, and we would definitely stay there again! We highly recommend it.
Clean and Simple rooms. Nice view from the third floor from the balcony. Functional bathrooms, unfortunately with leaking tab. In the description promised Pool usage was not commumicated. Breakfast was sufficient.
Our favourite hotel, where we have stayed many times during the last 20 years.Family run hotel with friendky athmosphere.Nice rooms,Breakfastbffé,and a nice terasse where you can relax with a glass of wine before you go out for dinner. We reccomend this hotel!
This is a family run hotel. The owners are very attentive and take great care of their guests. The facilities are basic, but of very good quality. The hotel is quiet, very clean and well organised. It is perfectly located (close to the harbour and the old part of the town, less than 100 metres from the beach) for sightseeing, island hopping or simply enjoying the sea and the sun in the nearby beach. If you do not mind about the extras it is an excellent place for a long or short stay. I highly recommend it.
We stayed at this hotel during the earthquake in Kos. We did not have any difficulties with the building unlike the other hotels and the hotel owner Dimitri was very helpful and calm during that night. Apart from that the hotel is clean and cosy. It has a warm atmosphere. Prices are also nice and affordable.
I am currently staying at the hotel Yiorgos for a week. Like other reviewers have reported, the Anastasiou Family are wonderful hosts. It's like a home from home staying with them. Everyone in the family makes the effort to say hello and ask if everything is ok at every opportunity, while at the same time giving you your space. The price is very good value for a hotel in Kos. The area is great, a lovely waterfront stroll to all that Kos centre has to offer. The hotel doesn't have a pool but guests can use the pool at the Kos Hotel just across the street. It's no hassle at all. The bedrooms are basic enough, but then I wasn't looking for the Ritz. Having said that, the rooms are spotlessly clean and the breakfast is great and served with a smile every morning. Bathroom towels and bed sheets are changed daily. The showers are powerful and there is always plenty of hot water. The local area is very nice to walk around. It feels very safe and although there are hotels and apartment blocks, there are also lots of locals around. A nice neighbourhood feel to the place. I found most nights, I was eating locally, in one of the many good family run restaurants and the prices and food was really good each time. I would definitely stay at the Yiorgos Hotel again. Highly recommend
Less than a 10 minute walk or 2 minutes cycling from the town centre and a minute away from the beach. Bike rentals can be found next door and directly across the road. Small corner stores and both ends of the street. Beside the corner store on the main road is an ATM. Wi-Fi / Internet was good and steady. The pool is unfortunately not located at the hotel itself - but at another hotel. Breakfast was a adequately sized with a range of spreads for bread, boiled eggs, cereal, meat and cheese, cake and a few different types of tea and coffee. Bathroom/ were unfortunately quite tight - requiring you to close the door first in order to get around it to reach the toilet. Showers were also a tight fit. However, they are still 100% functional and only as dirty as you make them. The beds were comfortable and there was a decently sized wardrobe to store your belongings along with a vanity. The balcony was quite nice and the sliding sun door prevented the rooms from overheating - even though the aircon was more than adequate.
Very near the marina, excellent for one night sleep prior to yachting or sailing. offers basic breakfast, value for money, internet is included in the price. not really suitable for a long stay, beach is 2 min walk.
