Over the years we have stayed at a good many PK condos, this time PK 320. PK 320 is managed by Kauai Vacation Rentals they are easy to work with. 320 is an old school condo of nice size. Old school doesn't bother me, the condo was clean and everything worked nicely, has a washer and dryer in the unit which is nice for longer stays, nice king size bed too, comes with beach chairs and beach toys. The view is special from the 3rd floor, ocean/park however, two flights of stairs to contend with everyday. The unit was comfortable with a layout much like other larger one bedroom condos. A few things could use improvement, most all a taller table and chairs on the lanai so a person can see over the rail. We would return.
Spent the month of November 2017 here. Like the south shore location. Explored the entire island. Our unit was ground floor 1 bedroom. Wonderful pool. Unit was spacious. Laundry a short ways from unit. Koi pond. Nice staff. Lots of owner volunteer efforts as well as staff working on maintenance of the grounds. You have to enjoy a huge flock of birds arriving every evening to roost in the trees. Park your car in the underground or it will be covered with bird poop. Just part of the charm. Really enjoyed it and will return soon. Did a lot of detail cleaning to bring it to my standards but didn’t mind as I was staying for a month. Beach is just across the street. We shopped at Costco and cooked our own meals for the most part. Great and relaxing time !
I was pleasantly surprised by the location and view of this place at a great price in the second floor over looking Prince Kuhio park and listening to ocean waves all night! The condo was everything 2 people could need, very clean and organized. The beaches across the street were hidden gems away from the chaos of Poipu beach and other tourist spots. It was everything we needed, the one downfall was the tight parking lot which our rental got hit in by some old local driver...You can barely open your door without hitting buddy next to you. PARK IN FREE PARKING GARAGE, we figured this out on our last day after getting our bumper scuffed all up. Thank God for the quiet pool with foundation so we could knock back a few cocktails after that fiasco. Thanks Kauai vacation rentals for hooking us! 🤙
Thank you for allowing us into your home, we felt as though it was our own. We travelled and stayed in so many places and none made us feel as comfortable as Prince Kuhio #212. We were worried that there was no AC but the temperature was perfect with the natural breeze that came through the condo all day and all night. The condo is equipped with everything you’d need while on vacation as if you’re in your own home. The lanai was our favorite, showing the views of the ocean, the sounds of the wild life especially the parrots, and really enjoyed watching the sunrise each morning. The pool was refreshing and snorkeling across the street was spectacular. Matt, the property manager, was very accommodating. We will recommend this place to our friends and family and we’ll definitely be coming back! Mahalo! ❤️ Malou & John
We stayed at Unit #317 for 5 nights. The unit was clean and had everything we needed. The view from the balcony is beautiful, the kitchen was well equipped and the pool is located within a nice garden right in front of the house. Parking in the garage (free) is recommended due to the parrots that meet there in the morning and evening. The shopping center with restaurants is in walking distance. Overall a great stay!
This was our second stay at Prince Kuhio. We stayed in 318 last year and 212 this year and were pleased with both. We like this complex because of the location and value. It is an older building (but many on Kauai are) and unit quality depends on what upgrades have been made by the individual owner. Occupants appear to be a combination of permanent residents and vacation rental guests but it’s usually quiet, at least the humans. The frogs in the pond can be noisy as are the parakeets that arrive at sunset and leave before dawn. There are views of the park and ocean from the lanais. The grounds and pool area are well maintained and it’s nice to be able to use the parking garage. There are several beaches across the street although they are small and tend to get busy unless you stake a claim early. If you stay at Prince Kuhio, be sure to walk across the street to the ocean side to view the sunsets.
We rented condo #103. We arived and in the morning went to make coffee. The coffee pot was full of moldy coffee, and was so dirty we could not clean it. The light and celling fan in the bedroom did not work. Harry the owner acted like it was not that big of a deal, but we thought we were renting a nice condo, but found out too late about the condition of the unit. Sorry the condos management does not have owner responsibility to the renters. We would not recommend condo #103.
Beware of bullfrog in pond. Stayed in room 110 and heard the bullfrog every night for 2 weeks. The parking for this resort is very limited and not enough room for all condos. The bed was very comfortable.
We stayed in unit 302 from April 8-17. We rented through Kauai Vacation Rentals and had no issues with booking or getting information/keys upon arrival. Prince Kuhio is an older building but the condo was nicely updated. The bed was very comfortable and there was ample room for 2-3 people. There was no air conditioning but we didn't need it. It cooled down nicely at night with the windows/sliding door open. We were able to get a nice breeze and listen to the ocean. Fair warning though- the roosters/parakeets are very loud at sunset & sunrise. The unit had plenty of towels, beach chairs, cooler, and kitchen supplies. There was soap in the bathroom but no shampoo/conditioner which I find most condos provide. Some oddities about the condo itself were all the mirrors (literally everywhere) and only a shower curtain on the door to the bathroom. Definitely not deal breakers.. Just took some getting used to. :) The grounds were beautifully landscaped and contained a koi pond. Everything was very clean- even saw them cleaning the grilling utensils when we were there. The pool area is very nice and relaxing as well. Ample free parking- either in the lot out front or in the parking garage next door. We enjoyed our stay at Prince Kuhio and working with Kauai Vacation Rentals. If/when we come back to Kauai we won't hesitate to book through KVR again. I would definitely recommend Prince Kuhio (specifically unit 302) to others who are looking for no-frill accommodations, a good price, and great location.
We stayed in Prince Kuhio unit 212 which is on the second level. We rented it through Kauai Vacation Rentals. This complex is in a great location. It is across the street from a beach where they have great snorkeling. The lanai off of the bedroom looked out over Prince Kuhio Park and you can also see the ocean. In front of the condo there was a really nice garden and a koi fish pond. The condo had everything we needed. It was well stocked with kitchen supplies, beach towels, and beach chairs. There is very nice swimming pool and BBQ area. If you like to walk or jog, the street in front has a sidewalk that runs along the ocean and by a golf course. At the end of street, there is a beach park. This condo complex is about a four minute drive to wonderful, white sandy beaches. It is also within walking distance to two shopping areas that have numerous restaurants, art galleries and boutique shops. We enjoyed watching the sunset from in front of the Beach House restaurant which is right across the street. The building manager, Matt is very friendly and helpful. There is a laundry room on the premises. Overall, it was a great value. We appreciated the fact that we could prepare many of our meals in the condo and we didn't have to pay for expensive resort fees that we usually pay at the large hotels. We will definitely come back and stay here again!
