I don't have enough words of gratitude for the Rajapurek Resort staff. We booked this hotel for just one night as we wanted to stay near the Pier for our early morning trip back by Ferry the following day. When we were arriving at Surat thani airport we realised that we had left our passports in the hotel's safe box. We called the hotel and they arranged to drop the passports to the Ferry staff for us at Ko Samui Pier. The Ferry staff brought our passports to us in Donsak pier where we were waiting for them. We obviously lost our flight as the ferry takes 2 hours and the airport is 1 hour drive from the pier, but we managed to get another late flight from Phuket and arrived on time to get our connecting flight back to Australia. If it is not for their efficiency and helpfulness of the staff we would not have made it. A big thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the people who selflessness helped us to get our passports. I wish I could go back to compensate you for your help, but my gratitude is with you. If management reads this review, could you please make sure to pass this thank you message to your staff.
An ideal place for a relaxing quiet holiday for those who don't want noisy places, crowds of people. The room is big enough, the only negative point is that there is no balcony, and there was nowhere to dry our wet things but when we told about this at the reception we were immediately given a drying shelf. Breakfasts were very good. The sea was calm, clean enough, good for children. No problems with sun beds. There were a lot of room for everybody. The restaurant in the hotel is expensive but there is a very good cafe just opposite the hotel with good fresh and qualitative and very cheap food.We liked everything there. The only small drawback was that they give only one for a person bath towel but there were quite enough beach towels at the beach. The staff is very friendly and effective, they immediately meet all your needs. We are planning to stay at this place again.
We spent 14 days at Rajapruek Samui Resort. We booked 2 Beach Bungalows, one as a Beach Front Bungalow. The communication during the booking process and also before arrival was very responsive. The Hotel is in a good condition, with a large renovate pool, nice garden with shadow areas. The Beach Bungalows are directly located to the beach, and are very spacious. On the beach and the bungalows we have had very good access to the wlan. There are enough sunbeds, parasols and bath towels. The service at the hotel is really good and friendly at every time. The breakfast is sufficient and offered all we needed. The dinner and barbecue is very tasty. Technical problems have been solved immediately. The room service is excellent, every day! Close to the hotel we rent two scooter, so we were extremely mobile. There are some restaurants along the street, so it is possible to try different locations. Additionally some laundries and massage salons. The surrounding area is very relaxed, it is not the hot spot of Ko Samui. So you have to decide before booking what you want to have. For us it was a wonderful and relaxed stay at Rajapruek Resort. We like to say “thank you” to Wanlaya and her team. Sàwàddee kráb at Rajapruek. Uwe
I wanted to write a review as it seemed a shame about the poor reviews. I booked this place after arriving at another place and leaving forthwith. It was just up the road from here and far worse. And more expensive. Hence this initiated my opinion of hotels in the area. I looked at another, prior to arriving here. Which was much the same as the first place! The first impression I had was how lovely the people are. The lady who I assume is the manager was very welcoming and genuine in helping me get a room, at a good rate. Having been in Thailand now for around 2 months, I've come to learn that the hotels aren't up to scratch in comparison to other countries. You really have to lower your standards! Here, there is no hot water in the bathroom sink and the shower is open for example. To me this is unacceptable but in Thailand it's quite the norm. For a cheap place at least. The rooms do remind me of a dormitory style and as other people have said, you can hear everything! It definitely needs updating. But, it's right on the beach and the service is generally excellent. There's a super restaurant and small shop opposite. Very cheap and the food and vibe is great. I had a few problems with my room on check-in but they were immediately resolved. There's a brilliant guy here who seems to do everything! Think the place would fall apart without him! Especially given that it feels like it's made from cardboard! He arranged a DVD player and helped me play movies from my USB, for example. Someone that went out of his way, big time. I personally think that kind of service is really nice.
I lived at this hotel in during one month from November-December. And gotta say, have no clue how this hotel got so good rating. Our food were terrible, people in my team got food poison from it. The beds was hard and the bathroom smelled mold. This hotel need a makeover! The pool area was great and the location is great for sunsets. But I would never go there ever again.
I would not recommend this in any way. The list can be long, but for example: Bad food, uncomfortable beds, not so fresh rooms, bad wifi; and so on! You can find something better for the same price so I would find something els!
Our stay here was a mixed bag. We had read previous reviews and we're looking forward to our stay. However a couple of problems to start, our bathroom had a leak and the staff couldn't sort it and no other room was available, so we had to put up with a flooded bathroom for one night, using the bath towels to keep the water at bay. The next day we did get another room and a promised refund of the first nights stay. The second issue was the main pool, it was being refurbished and empty another bad mark, we should have been informed about this when booking. Having got the negative out of the way the staff were great and the second room was comfortable and clean with a sea view, very nice. I advise to ask for a sea view when booking as the other rooms at the moment overlook the building works of the main pool and you can also look into each other's rooms on the land side. The hotel food is good we ate there the first night, but the small restaurant opposite the hotel is excellent and half the price! If it hadn't been for the issues I would have rated the Rajapruek as very good especially for the price.
Rajapruek is about 45-mins away from main city/shopping area. However it is precisely what is needed to unplug and relax. The resort isn't too fancy, but has very friendly staffs, clean rooms and beautiful beachfront. Massages can be arranged for BHT500/hour. When we visited in August 2016, hotel main pool was under renovation, but there is still the beachfront dipping pool. Though why use the pool when the beautiful beach is just there. Breakfast was part of our package, and has enough varieties to fill up energy for the day.
This hotel is located in the "quiet side" of the island. Probably 20-30 min by car or scooter to the more popular beaches in Chaweng, Lamai, Maenam and Bophut. it is closer to Nathon pier ... thus less crowded beaches. it is right next to Nikki Beach resort where I heard they have awesome Sunday night beach parties. For a beachfront resort it is pretty affordable, beachfront bungalows run from $100-150/ night which includes breakfast. They also have cheaper rooms in a newly renovated building near the road for around $60. We stayed in a 2 bedroom bungalow for a few nights and when aunt went back, moved to a smaller room. The room we moved into, the shower is not separated from the toilet and sink, no shower doors or tub. Also the hallway has tiled floors, you can hear everything going on in the hallway, from guests pulling their carry on bags and the conversations because it echoes. Might suggest to get the bungalow if you are a light sleeper. They have 2 pools, and are renovating one pool. So paying for a "pool view" room will get you a view of the workers and an empty pool "view" so call first if they are finished with the reno. No point in paying for a "pool view" without a view. First floor rooms area few bahts more expensive only because its a bit bigger and supposed to have direct "pool access". Again, call ahead to confirm is renovation is done. The resort is a little rundown and needs upkeep. The other pool was a little smaller but some of the tiles surrounding it are broken, the towels both in the room and the poolside towels are worn thin, some have holes in them. But the beach will take your breath away. Beautiful beach, as I mentioned before not crowded. This resort is also quiet and peaceful, no rowdy people. You can sit on the beachside lounges, take your drinks and just let the breeze from the ocean cool you. Breakfast buffet was good. They cook your eggs to order, 3 kinds of bread, curry and rice, rice porridge with all the condiments and 2 kinds of juices. choice of coffee or tea. Thailand is known for being " The land of smiles" and the staff does exemplify Thailand. Overall this hotel is a nice jump off point for island activities but might have to hire a car/driver or scooter since it is a little out of the way. And, lastly wifi is iffy. Strongest signal near lobby, after that...even in the bungalows is hit or miss.
The staff at this resort work really hard to give good service. The rooms were very clean and tidy. We enjoyed the free kayaking as we used it to paddle the bay. It is a bit far from much else going on, which, if that is what you want, then this is a good choice.
