We had a very nice stay here. Room was great, good shower, nice bed. Breakfast was the type your order from menu, but decent options and well-made. Loved the pool part, quiet and relaxing, with a small pool, sauna and jacuzzi. Highlight was the staff, very friendly and helpful. Caveat on the rooms. Old part of hotel must be 50-100 years old. And rooms show that. While in the back they extended hotel with another building, where we stayed, these rooms are very modern and new.

Everything is good, staff were great.

The hotel highlights are the staff. All young but all so incredibly professional and helpful. The room we had was in a newer block and the room was good. It had a Separate patio area. Bed was comfortable. The shower floor did become very slippy when wet and a lot of water does escape from the shower onto the bathroom floor. We tried the restaurant and the food was good and reasonably priced. Breakfast is also included and again was good. We also used the leisure facilities and had a good swim in the pool. The bar was large and very reasonably priced. The town of Kington is a bit tired. Quite a lot of empty units but if your looking for a reasonably priced room and the location works for you I would say give this hotel and the incredible staff a go.

Poor check in check out but nice stay

We arrived for check in and it was a disappointment . We waited for 5 mins at the front desk when a local customer said no one’s been at the desk for ages you may want to ask the bar staff . So I went to the bar and the bar staff looked at me like I had 3 heads and said I don’t deal with that . So I asked who does and where are they . Again he just looked like I had 3 heads . So eventually after 20 minutes I googled the number for the hotel and phoned when the person who was on the front desk came out of the cellar . She couldn’t find our booking and had to check for it . She then showed us to our room which was very nice ( although the bath plug wouldn’t pull out to drain the water ) the food was very nice in the restaurant that night and at breakfast the next morning . The leisure facilities was also very nice with a pool and jacuzzi to relax in . It was very warm in the room but as it was one of the hottest days of the year that was the same everywhere . Upon check out we had another slight issue , a different front desk staff wanted to charge us for the room which we had pre paid . This was quickly resolved showing them the email receipt but again just let the whole check in check out part of it down massively.

Hidden gem

Very friendly,helpful staff who went out of their way to make us welcome and comfortable. Lovely clean room, modern facilities. Pool was lovely. Pleasant town with history, plenty of walks in the area. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Quiet weekend break.

Quite location ideal to explore the area including hay on wye. Room was nice and clean. Onky issue is access to the spa is through the returant which is odd in a dressing gown.
