We prefer Choice Hotels and the rooms here were clean and comfortable, as expected. However the desk person who was on duty was rude. we made reservations on the Choice website. we had a large party (7) and got 2 rooms. the clerk insinuated we had more people than we stated. when I am spending my own hard earned money to stay in your establishment, the last thing I want or expect is accusations and rudeness. on various past trips we have stayed at this hotel many times, I assure you we will never stay here again. if not for the rooms themselves I would have given a poor rating.
I booked a reservation online the day before we were scheduled to arrive in Temple. The website was easy to use. Quality Suites had a room with a king bed at a much lower price than one of their nearby competitors. The lobby was inviting and clean. Check in was fast - the desk clerk was very friendly. He was very soft-spoken, so I had to ask him to repeat information a few times, but he seemed to understand. The room was a nice size and had a small sofa, coffee table, desk, microwave, refrigerator, and TV. The bed was very comfortable. There were several pillows to choose from - all were free of lumps (thank goodness!!). The room and bathroom had been thoroughly cleaned. The towels were clean and soft. This Inn was very nice, clean, and comfortable, and priced right. We will stay here again when we are in the area. Please note: as of May 20, 2017, I-35 is under construction in this area which may create some challenges in getting to the Inn for those coming from the north on I-35.
This place is fine for a quick cheap place to sleep, stopped here on our way to Dallas as it was considerably cheaper than other places in the area. Check in guy was courteous and rooms were fairly clean. There is no elevator so dragging luggage upstairs kinda sucks and I could see how others could have a hard time. Breakfast was horrible. Cold, chewy 2 day old eggs, shriveled sausages, and black bananas. Skip breakfast and pack light and you'll be fine.
The manager was very rude when she learned that I had a discount on the hotel after checking in. She refused to provide me with extra towels when requested and when asked if we could replace a light bulb in the room that was burnt out was told that we would first have to bring her the burnt out bulb and then after doing so was told that we were not allowed to replace the bulb that she would need to enter the room( Where my kids were sleeping) and replace because as a quest we could not be trusted. The next morning for breakfast all I got was people staring at me as I ate cold sausage and burnt gravy. And if you want to get a late night snack all they have in there HUGE vending machine is 4 options Plus Gum. Not to mention seeing a roach in the Bath Tub before checking out in the morning. I would never recommend go to this hotel.
I made reservations at the Quality Suites for our visit to the Mother Earth News Fair in Belton. Unfortunately I was not aware that TxDOT is overhauling IH 35 through Temple. Temporary marking of Exits are pitiful and difficult to read, especially after dark! Report was that the construction will continue through 2019, so beware. Next observation is that Temple has lots and lots of fast food franchises, but very limited casual dining. We managed to get to the Texas Roadhouse on west side of IH35, but the parking lot was full and lots of people standing outside. After a day at the MEN Fair, we could not face that wait. Drove lots of miles looking for an option that was not fast food and finally found Applebees on Tx 36 on far south side of Temple. The bed was OK. Bathroom is far from ideal for seniors. The bottom of the tub in Rm 106 is pitifully slick. A "scar" on the tub surround seems to indicate that one end of the grab bar had been pulled out and a shorter bar rehung. I fell in slick tub a few years ago and we often remembered to take our own WalMart rubber mat for safety. We forgot to take the rubber mat this trip. We have retro fitted one of the taller commodes at our home. The commode in RM 106 seemed so low that it was designed for children. With no grab bar on the wall and slick tile floor, getting up from the commode was difficult! Breakfast was typical motel fare, but the attendant was asking everyone to take it easy on coffee since she had none left in stock. Given the miserable construction, sending someone for additional coffee Sunday morning might have been difficult, but why was the stock so low???
I like this place. Nothing fancy, but the price is right, the breakfast is good, the beds are great, and the location is convenient. The desk staff was very friendly, and the room was extremely clean. The construction around Temple makes getting onto N Gen Bruce a little confusing, but once you figure it out it's not bad.
I stayed here two years ago when it was the Baymont. Nothing has been updated except the marquee. I was ok with staying here as it was only a few minutes away from my job site. They do offer HDTV and good internet speeds. I didn't have the breakfast as I'm on a diet. Second morning I found a roach on my bathroom floor (room 128). Besides being creeped out by the bug it seems as if this hotel will just keep getting worse. I try to stay at choice properties only but will pass next time on this place.
Great stay- clean rooms, helpful staff, cold AC! Very quiet with little sitting area that allowed me to get work done.
I checked in to several loud children running around, who belonged to the owner/manager. I find this very unprofessional but typical with foreign owners. The room was fine and had table lamps with plug-ins, which I really appreciate. The desk chair is an ancient hydraulic model that won't stay up so I had to use the desk like I was sitting in a hole. Very annoying. Because of road construction, it was difficult to access the place but I don't blame that on the hotel. Check in was fine and the girl was very friendly and helpful. I don't normally travel this area so I probably won't be staying here again but if I did, I would probably look around at some other motels first.
We were looking for a cheap motel and stumbled across this gem! My son has OCD and is very picky about where we stay. Turned down a few hotels for cleanliness and price. Told the front staff about his need and they let us check put the room first. I was awestruck. It was the exact same price as the others around that were less clean. The room was huge and the appliances were up to date with a flat screen TV and new looking phone, refrigerator, and microwave. Had a couch and a desk that didn't cramp up the space. The bathroom was spacious and immaculate. Plent of lighting and the comfiest bed ever. We brought our own comforter and pillows and left the room an utter mess when we went out for the day. Came back and everything was fixed perfectly. They even picked up our dirty underwear in the bathroom and folded them in their own space. Didn't feel like I needed shower shoes in the shower or like coating the toilet in paper before use. Had a good bit of electronics which you could tell was untouched. The housekeeping definitely knows boundaries. The front staff was so friendly and inviting. They have a complimentary breakfast with hot eggs, sausage, and waffles. So delicious. Normally when I stay somewhere, I miss home at some point. Not once. In fact, my son begged to stay, even without his video games. If you want to relax and have peace and quiet in a beautiful room, this is the place. Though we didnt have time to use the pool, it was very clean looking.
