Don't play golf but the course and hotel grounds provided beautiful morning walks and lake views. Room was comfortable and restaurant food tasty.

The hotel location was important to us, because we were travelling from Dublin to Portlaoise on the train. It was an easy five minute walk from the station. Everything was very convenient. The hotel lobby is quite welcoming, but the actual rooms need to be updated. Old beds, old furniture (not antique) ...
