Penthouse 1 @Sugar Beach Resort

Beach Front Sugar Beach Resort. Top floor, Ocean View Unit. Beautifully updated unit with sweeping ocean views. Enjoy all of the amenities in a clean, well kept property. The entire complex sits ocean front, there are no roads to cross to get you onto the beach! Penthouse 1 is top floor resort living with views that go on forever. Unit is accessible via elevator or stairs.

The carefully chosen furnishings and decor in this updated unit will allow you to melt into 'Maui Time'. Dine on your lanai while watching the 'green flash' that can occur when the sun sets into the ocean. There are many green sea turtles swimming in the surf in front of Sugar Beach Resort, and magnificent humpback whales as they return each winter to enjoy their calving grounds in the Maui waters.

Enjoy walking the more than 5 Mile continuous beach every morning or evening. There are many pieces of lawn and garden furniture spread throughout the resort grounds and pool area. The grounds are very well kept and the pool is heated and kept between 80 - 85 degrees (one of the warmest and only heated pools in Kihei). Penthouse 1 is part of Sugar Beach Resort which won Management of the year for 2011.

The Unit is very well equipped, it has all of the linens and towels that you will need. There are two cable TV's, one flat screen in the bedroom and a another flat screen in the living room, both have DVD players for movies. A stereo system with CD is provided, high speed broadband internet is available in the unit as well. There is a hair dryer, an iron and ironing board as well as a washer and dryer. The kitchen is completely stocked with pots, pans, dishes, silverware, toaster, microwave, etc. Food is available nearby at: Costco in Kahului, while Kihei offers a Safeway, Food Land, Star Market, and a daily Farmer’s market.

I like Sugar Beach Resort and have stayed there many times. This particular condo was not my favorite. The biggest issue I had was the location in the resort. No where did the post state its location, which was the room closest to the highway which runs 24X7. You can rarely hear the ocean because of the road noise. If I'd known the location of the room, I wouldn't have booked it.The room was nice enough but dated. Don't think it was worth the price though. Carpet was older and needs to be cleaned. Given the proximity to the ocean & sand, tile floors would be much better. Kitchen and bathroom were dated too. Bathroom access was kind of funky too.

Sugar Beach- Pure Relaxation

We LOVED this prooperty. We previously stayed in penthouse 14 in the other building, but this one felt way more cozy and "family friendly". We had a slight issue with the code working and the owner andered immediately to get it fixed for us. They have EVERYTHING you could need in the unit (extra sheets, blankets, laundry products, cleaning products, spices and oils and ALL kitchen supplies you could need) we only had to spend about 400 at walmart to last us 10 days of meals cooking there. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for the perfect relaxing spot.

The condo had everything we needed for a nice beach vacation. Chairs, umbrellas, cooler, etc. Communication with the owner was great and she was very flexible on check in and check out timing. The only thing we were disappointed in was that the beach wasn't great for swimming, it's on a stretch of mud flats.

Overall great stay. Location is great. Condo was stocked for our arrival. Lots of spices for cooking, great beach chairs as well. The bed was super comfortable after long days on the beach or walks and hikes. Condo is a bit dated, but who goes to Maui to stay in a condo. Communication with host was great. Would definitely stay at this resort again.

Great place, nice beach access, the facility and pool were very accessible. Unfortunately the wind tunnel effect of the sugar beach resort made it very difficult to enjoy in the afternoon. A great place to stay!

I spent a great week in this beautiful unit. The top floor, end of hall location, has a great ocean view, as well as looking out to the volcano. Breakfast on the patio was so delightful. The location is perfect- close to airport, Costco, Walmart, Kihei, and Sugar Beach Event Center, which was the reason for my visit- my nephews wedding. I could have ended up anywhere, but was blessed to happen upon this unit! The unit was extremely clean, well stocked, and comfortable. Kristi was so easy to work with. She quickly responded to my questions and I felt like I knew her. Again, I was blessed to find this unit and would highly recommend it!!! Mahalo Kristi.

There is a ton of road noise and a bunch of wind…the beach is decent, the actual condo is dated but perfectly adequate. The kitchen is well stocked while the dryer venting into the shower is gross from my perspective. Everything works and the lady that gives of a parking pass is pretty miserable. Hot tub was cold and grounds were well kept…you are close to a ton of stuff which is nice. I’d probably pick a different property off the main road next time just due to the noise in that I want to hear the ocean, not the cars 😊

We love the location of sugar beach resort. We have stayed at this resort 2 times and have always been happy with our decision. This particular condo has road noise, but we expected it based on its location within the resort. I won’t say this resort is “fancy” but it has all the qualities (beachfront, pool, hot tub) for a great vacation. Bonus, is Dina’s sandwich shop, amazing Rueben sandwich!
