Wonderful Waterfront property

Great place for my business trip, but would also be nice for a relaxing vacation as well. Only things that would make it better would be having the bedroom water side, and a more convenient place to get coffee.

Best room ever!

Oh my goodness, we had the best vacation. The weather was fabulous. The room was on spot. I don’t think we could’ve asked for a better view. Anything we needed to cook or use at the beach was included would completely rent from Larry again. I loved the fact there is two bathrooms-the Surfside is where it’s at location wise. Just outside the door, you can take a left and walk down the most gorgeous strip of beach ever.!

It was great having a coded entry and not a key to carry around. The bed at this location was very comfortable. Having an extra half bath was nice. Carpet needs to be cleaned or updated. otherwise everything was as listed. The views were fantastic!

Breathtaking view, great location

The stunning view from the balcony cannot be beat, and watching the sunset every evening from the balcony was one of the highlights of our trip. The location was perfect for us to do all of our excursions on Maui and there are plenty of restaurants in the area and a Safeway nearby. We loved having a full kitchen to be able to eat a few meals in and make coffee in the mornings. The furniture and carpeting is a bit dated, but we felt the unit was fairly priced given all the other amenities. We booked very last minute and were grateful it was available.

lovely place, but there is construction that is not disclosed in the listing

Great view, amazing location, lovely beaches! Sea turtles visible from the gorgeous lanai and pretty grounds with epic sunset views, The only major bummer was that the owner didn't disclose construction on the property (all of the railings being replaced and remodeling going on in nearby condos), so we heard heavy machinery, drills, and hammers during 3/5 days (not on the weekends). Of course we were out and about enjoying the outdoors as much as possible, but when we wanted to take a break from the sun and trade winds, or eat lunch and relax, we heard construction noise. The listing should absolutely include this information. VRBO tried to contact the owner and office to no avail. Otherwise a cool spot!

Great views, quiet building.

We loved our stay in Surfside 402. Great views, very clean. Took a minute to figure out tv/cable remotes, might want to give a 1,2,3 step guide, but they worked. All the kitchen tools you would want were there. Towels and beach chairs provided. One of the best things about this unit were the cabinets in the entry way. They gave us a spot to put groceries, towels, purses. This is why I chose this unit, it helped keep the unit uncluttered. I wish all condos had this. I would give it a 9 1/2 out of ten. The only issue was the hard mattress. I noticed another reviewer had mentioned this in September of 2018, and I hoped it was corrected by now, but it wasn’t. A mattress topper from Costco would solve the problem. Then I would give it a ten. And I would stay here again. Everyone was very friendly. Mahalo

Simply the best value on Maui

I’ve been visiting Maui for over 20 years and I always stay at the Surfside because of the amazing value and location. I’ve booked with Larry at Rosie’s Rentals and the process has always been efficient with clear and helpful communication from Larry and his team. Unit 402 was perfect for a two week stay in September. It had everything we needed, was very clean and comfortable with a front row seat to incredible sunsets every night. My only wish is that we had more time to spend there! COVID was hard on the people and businesses of Hawaii. My last visit was about ten years ago but I had a trip planned in 2020 that had to be canceled due to the shutdown. For me going to Maui has always been about relaxing and letting go of my cares without breaking the bank. If you need five star accommodations in a swanky hotel with three pools and a golf course, Kihei Surfside probably isn’t for you. If you are looking for affordable oceanfront accommodations that allow you the flexibility of cooking and BBQing along with pristine beaches, hiking, snorkeling, swimming all in easy proximity to restaurants, groceries, activities and endlessly beautiful sights then get in touch with Larry at Rosie’s Rentals- he can definitely hook you up! Mahalo!

Superb setting

The condo is right on the ocean. It offers great views of the sunset and whales during the migration season. The lanai is relatively small, although there is a kitchen nook which juts out next to the lanai which is completely enclosed in glass. So you have the option of sitting outside on the lanai or sitting inside with equally great views. I suppose this would be a great feature if the weather was inclement, although we had spectacular weather while we were there. The condo was clean, well stocked and nicely furnished. The owner has maintained it in tip-top shape (unlike some other condos we've stayed at on the island which were quite run down). The condo is very quiet and peaceful (although there are some roosters nearby that give you a nice wake up call in the morning). There is a nice, medium-size pool with ample lounge chairs, but no hot tub. There are a couple large BBQ grills and picnic tables for outdoor eating. The grounds are beautiful with a lovely park adjacent to the property. Kamaole Beach Park III is a short, 12-min walk for very good snorkeling. There is no sandy beach directly in front of the property, but we saw multiple turtles hanging out amongst the lava rocks which was very cool. Plus there is a nice sand beach right next door. BTW, the Palm restaurant next door has a great happy hour. The condo manager, Larry, and his staff were super accommodating and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!

Great Location and Great Views

My husband and I loved this property. The views were incredible and there were plenty of fans to keep the place cool. When we stayed there were beach chairs left by other guests which was a huge plus. Some other reviews found the bed too firm but it worked out great for us. Overall would recommend for anyone looking for an amazing ocean view that is near a relaxing beach.
