Step onto the terrace for a massage with one of our recommended masseurs or take an afternoon swim in in the 50 foot pool-with-a-view and you will feel like you are in your own private resort. Recently featured in California Homes and Design Magazine*, Lavender Hill is a luxury hide-away in the Wine country available year-round for discerning guests. If you and your group appreciate design, setting and amenities a cut above the standard vacation rental property, you will not be disappointed.

The property consists of a contemporary three bedroom, two and one-half bath main house, plus a Craftsman style one bedroom, one bath guest house, on a ridge-top location with spectacular 280-degree views of the vineyards of Sonoma Valley. There are five very private, fenced and gated acres, much of them level or gently sloping with mature oak and olive trees--ideal for relaxing with your family or friends.

The large, well-appointed gourmet kitchen has a six-burner Viking range, two convection ovens, a wine refrigerator, and concrete/steel counters. There is formal indoor dining for twelve people, casual outdoor dining for 12+.

The spacious master bedroom boasts a separate stereo system, television w/ DVD/VCR, satellite service w/HBO. The master bath has a two-person, Japanese-style soaking tub and a detached slate shower w/ skylight. New in 2008: Hardcourt Tennis court w/ basketball hoop.

All bedrooms have Frette bathrobes, 620 thread-count linens and tasteful furniture. In addition, there is 1500 square feet of decking for outdoor dining and relaxing, a lap pool with an automatic cover and a 6-person outdoor hot tub with a beautiful view of the Mayacamas mountains and the Sonoma valley.

NEW IN MARCH OF 2021: Outdoor kitchen and bar with gas and wood grills, professional bartender’s sink, seating for four and night lighting.

Secluded yet only five minutes from the award-winding wineries of the northern Sonoma Valley. 12 miles from Sonoma Plaza, ten miles to Santa Rosa; 30 minutes to the Russian River and Napa valley. We had an amazing time at the lavender hill house! It has stunning views and all the things you'd want - pool, tennis, hot tub, outdoor grill & dining. It's secluded and felt like a real vacation. It rained for two days during our stay and that didn't even matter here! The host was flexible with our requests and provided a robust list of recommendations for the area too. Overall amazing stay, lives up to the gorgeous pics!

What a gorgeous property! From the moment we walked in we knew we were going to have an incredible experience in wine country! Lavender Hill set the tone for our entire vacation and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. We were 7 adults getting together for a reunion of sorts and the property was perfect. Loved the great room with the views! Really enjoyed having the tennis court and the pool...along with the ping pong table. (Would have been perfect for family/plenty to do.) The house sits at the top of a hill and has amazing views and places to sit and relax. The kitchen was perfect for preparing meals. Only downside was that we didn't stay long enough. :). Oh and if I had to pick something to critique was that not all bedrooms were en suite, but not a big deal.

It was a great stay. We rented this for my husband and I and three other couples. each couple had their own room and it is so spacious. The morning views with the am fog were beautiful and reminded me so much of my time growing up in CA. Kitchen has everything you need including pods for the Nespresso machine which was great. Linens were fresh and clean & beds were very comfortable. Lots of wildlife around the property too which was magical. Sheep, deer and wild turkeys.

This house is amazing. The house itself is clean, spacious and well stocked. The beds were so comfortable and bathrooms were stocked with plenty of towels and amenities. Although the inside of the house is fantastic, the outdoor area is superb. The pool is perfection, hot tub is cute, tennis court is super fun and there is even a rock climbing wall. Another things that is great about this house is it is easy to manage with the signs and the box left on the counter. We hope to stay at this house again.

Absolutely delightful stay with family for a special birthday. The pictures show the beautiful house and grounds, but no pictures can portray the serene atmosphere on the hilltop with picturesque views in every direction, and only the sounds of nature. We enjoyed the cooler weather and no bugs! There is plenty to do with pool, tennis court, game room, and cabinet full of games for all ages. We had a private chef come to the house for the birthday dinner and enjoyed the patio and views more than any restaurant. Our group was age 3 through 80 and everyone is ready go back. Communication with the owner wasn't ever necessary for any problems, but was quick and easy for a few questions.

Gorgeous house and location. Tennis court was a focus for us. Played every morning and afternoon. Brought our own equipment but there was also plenty provided. Pool was perfect temp all the time and both afforded stunning views. Really hope to return.

Words and photos can’t do this property justice! It’s really the most perfect and beautiful house and grounds with the most gorgeous views. The pool is at the perfect temperature for a hot Sonoma day and we were able to watch the moon rise sitting in the cedar hot tub. The open living space with mountains on three sides is spectacular. The indoor and outdoor kitchens are well stocked and bedrooms super comfy. Bonus: Beautiful wildlife abounds if you are into birds :)

Perfect stay in the hills above Kenwood. Spectacular views. The house has a fully equipped kitchen and outdoor grill which we used several times. We were a family of 6 having our annual holiday reunion and stayed for 8 nights. Within easy reach of restaurants and a coffee shop.

Peaceful with Picture Perfect Views

Great views from many perspectives on the property along with the pool, tennis court and basketball hoop provided our family with exactly what we wanted. Loved the glass on three sides of the family room. Felt like you were outdoors. When we had questions, the owner was extraordinarily prompt in responding. Lovely, relaxing time for our family. Looks can be deceiving!

I would like to give an honest opinion of our recent stay. The location & scenery was absolutely gorgeous, but unfortunately that's all that our money paid for. The house is rundown, grimy, musty & frumpy. When we first arrived, we were greeted by a couple of angry turkeys who were treading back & forth along the large windows of the back cement patio. Upon getting closer we realized that there were mounds of turkey poop the whole length of the patio! I was absolutely horrified & embarrassed for our guests who had joined us. It smelled awful. I spent over an hour hosing it off, because I didn't want anyone tracking it into the house. I texted the owner. He said that the maintenance guy was out there 2 days ago, but would send him back to power wash the patio the following morning. When we entered the home, it smelled very stale & musty...as though it had been closed up since winter! We went to open windows, but realized many of them did NOT have screens. The blades of the master bedroom ceiling fan were totally filthy & I had to clean them before we could turn the fan on. We also found all of the kitchen chairs stacked up...not the greatest impression. The next morning there was a huge hairy spider that came out of the sink! There was also a swarm of gnats flying around in master shower. Washer & dryer available, but only enough detergent for 1 wash. Sadly, not at all what we were expecting or hoping to experience during our stay.
