Only stated one night, but the Victoria Hotel represents excellent value as it is a short walk from the city centre. Big car park, good free wifi and large room which has been recently refurbished. Ample continental breakfast (which is not included) with staff eager to please.

This hotel was a good price, just a short walk to the town. Clean, room very comfortable.Breakfast was very nice, staff pleasant. No complaints. Would stay there again. Plenty of free parking. Bar seemed popular

Clean and tidy. Good beds. Very friendly staff. Excellent towels. Good parking. Well priced. 10 minute walk (max) to central Canterbury. Only fault was music from bar which I found a little disturbing

I was really surprised- positively. The hotel is great value for money! And really clean, all staff extremely friendly and helpful. From outside I got B&B feeling yo be host I was little bit worried because the price was so low! But the room was big, refurbished! Clean and smelling nice. And the breakfast was good!

I have been accommodated to this hotel between 10-th and 15-th of January, a total of six nights, and I must say I am very pleased with my stay there. The quality of the services is beyond any doubt or reproach and hotel's personnel will do everything to make you feel like home. Within walking distance to Canterbury town centre and historical places and also with good transport connections close by Victoria Hotel Canterbury it's one of the best places to stay there and be more than welcome and satisfied. Besides I have also forgot a jacket and my passport into my room and they have send it back to me free of charge. These guys are great. I totally recommend this hotel!

We have just stayed at the Victoria hotel for one night , we booked through so only expected a standard room for the price we payed .. we were shocked at the room presented to us , huge room with a four poster bed , passage way with a separate toilet then a lovely bathroom with a jacuzzi bath ,, everything was spotless and perfect ,, then it went down hill a bit , the room is directly above the kitchen so had radio/noise from the kitchen and the room was really hot but we couldn't have the windows open when we went to bed because there was a fan going on and off every two minutes throughout the night just outside one of the windows , so my partner slept on and off but I got no sleep at all so so much for a relaxing evening and nice sleep !!! We did eat in the restaurant , I had hot wings for starter and ribeye steak , my partner had prawn cocktail and the carvery , for was great and could not fault it or the service , Sunday morning we had breakfast and yet again it was all freshly cooked and served with a smile ,, the staff all weekend have been excellent and friendly as a said the room situation did spoil it a bit but all in all it was a lovely place to stay and we would highly recommend it ,, we will certainly be returning in the summer on our motorbike when we have a ride out and stay over weekend ,,

After looking around , we came across this little gem , we had a fantastic stay, room was clean and warm with a very comfortable bed, breakfast included, and good main meals , what more could you ask for.

I checked in at 7:15 pm and was assigned a room on the 3rd floor furthest from reception. There was no lift/elevator and being over 70 did not appreciate the walk upstairs with heavy luggage. First impressions are always important. The room was cold, cramped, drab and smelled damp. The heat issue was quickly resolved by shutting the outside window that had been left wide open. It's mid December and freezing! On the desk was a hotel guide which I consulted to find the wifi password. The password in the book was not correct and I was unable to get WIFI. The room was very cold in the morning. The radiator had no heat which I assume meant the heating was shut off overnight. (Remember the bit about freezing temperatures). Breakfast was available at extra cost from 8 till 10 - hours convenient for the staff but not for guests. I could go on - there was no bedside table, the reading lamp didn't work, etc., but I dislike complaining. I did pass on my concerns to the person at reception when I left just before 8:00 am. He did tell me the Wifi password then explained he was the night porter so I assume my complaints fell on deaf ears. I forgot to mention a fire door at the bottom of the stairway to the rooms that was blocked open. Surely guest safety must be paramount - not at this hotel.

I am absolutely astounded at the poor customer service and laziness of the manager. I am wanting to buy four vouchers for the restaurant as gifts for Christmas and the managers excuse is that they don’t own an envelope. Are they joking?!

We visit Canterbury very regularly and have struggled to find the ideal hotel that is close to the city, comfortable and, above all, quiet. In the Victoria Hotel we have found it. Good-sized, v well equipped, with large bed and large bath. V friendly staff. Rooms spotless. Good parking which is right on edge of main road back to London. Yet it is within walking distance of the old centre of town. Very quiet at night so greatvsleep quality. We will be back. A great find.
