We stayed here on the 30th Dec 2017 as an overnight stay before taking the tunnel the next day. I paid for 2 rooms in order that our daughter and granddaughters had their own space and privacy,so it wasn’t a cheap stop over and I would have hoped for a better standard of quality then we received. On arrival the staff were pleasant and efficient and the parking was adequate and safe which is always important when you are loaded up to travel to France. However the smell in our room was horrendous, I can only describe it as smelling of dog phoo, it wasn’t strong to start with as the heating wasn’t on or else we would have asked for another room but as the evening wore on and the room warmed up it got stronger and stronger, by this time we were ready for bed and in our nightclothes so it was too late to do anything about it.We found a large ugly stain next to the bottom of the bed where obviously the smell was coming from, the smell even permeated the adjoining bedroom where our children were staying via a connecting door which remained open. When we told the staff about the problem the following morning and asked if they had had dogs in that room previously we were told no they hadn’t but obviously they had! We had also decided to take an evening meal for all the family in the hotel, it was not cheap but we thought it would be more convenient then going out of the hotel, I would not have minded paying the prices if it had been a good meal but honestly I might as well have warmed up a jar of supermarket curry mix! We were given 4 small 1” cubes of chicken in some curry sauce in a little dish with about a dozen chips!! Our granddaughters faired better with the children’s menu of chicken nuggets and chips, which were twice the size of ours! When asked if everything had been ok for us by the desk manager in the restaurant I commented on how small the food portions were and all he said was “Yes I’ve often thought they look small too.” I paid just under £200 for this wonderful experience and considering that we were in Room 101 I think we are just going to have to send this one down!!
Fine for a quick overnight stop before the tunnel. but beware if you are allergic to dogs...over 25 dogs there when we stayed, seemed to be on all floors so not kept to one level. Room smelt of dogs. They even had to move the no pets sign further into the restaurant to accommodate all the owners and pets down for an evening meal
Hotel is ideal for the Eurotunnel only a shor drive away. Hotel is modern and has lots of parking although spaces are tight if you have a large car. Rooms are comfortable but not a large bed. Breakfast is included and was good.
My family and I stayed here before travelling to Eurodisney in December. We arrived late in the evening but reception was helpful and completed check-in promptly. Unable to have breakfast due to an early departure, perhaps the option of taking a croissant or pastry with a bottle of water could be offered. Room was clean and had all the facilities car park on site. A great shirt stop to break the journey.
It was late on the Friday night before Christmas and we were booked into a different hotel locally which turned out to be totally unsuitable. We went to this hotel on the off chance they had a room and they couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful. It was very busy but they did have a room. Check in was easy, our dog was very welcome ( even biscuits on the check in desk) and even though there was no food at that time, we were directed to a collection of local take away menus with delivery, on the bar. Within 45 minutes of checking in we were relaxed in the bar with a drink and a pizza. The room was fine and the breakfast included in the room rate was great. Would stay again and recommend.
The location of the hotel was excellent. We had just driven across France so were happy to find it so close to the Eurotunnel. The staff were brilliant (especially the gentleman who was working on the night of 23.12.17), really welcoming. The food in the restaurant was great for pub grub but I was really pleasantly surprised by the breakfast - will definitely remember this place and use again.
Easy to locate just off M20, easy quick check in, comfortable bed. Great breakfast, with plenty of coffee available, friendly staff. Dog friendly. Didn’t bother with dinner as late arriving. 2nd time we’ve stayed here, would recommend. Maximum 10 mins from Euro tunnel
This is a nice hotel clean tidy good rooms. If you are catching the car train to france you are around 5 minutes away . plenty of free parking around 5 minute drive to town with a supermarket just down the street .
Lovely hotel for early morning Euro tunnel. Family room was lovely and clean, we all had a good nights sleep and a nice breakfast before we left. Very nice friendly staff, easy check in and out. Would highly recommend Dog friendly hotel even though we didn’t take ours
Stayed here with the family as a check point for an early channel tunnel trip and I have nothing but praise for.the staff, we arrived late but check in was smooth and the room very clean and every thing in place. Went to the bar for a late beer and the prices were very reasonable for a hotel . Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again very good price as booked months in advance even so would of paid the full price for the convenience of the hotel. Excellent customer service.
