Holiday Inn Express Folkestone - Channel Tunnel2.5 out of 5.0

The room was shabby. Mould on the window sill and the door didn't shut properly. The breakfast was lovely though and the reception staff were helpful. I didn't eat at the restaurant and the staff encourage you to order takeaway anyway.
Stayed here before an early tunnel crossing. Evening meal options were limited and expensive but Folkestone is only a few mins away and there's a Tesco within 1/2mile (also had fuel) so not a problem. Easy parking, clean tidy room, self service breakfast from 6am with a hot 'to go' option as well as cereal, fruit, croissants and yoghurt. Take out coffee to have en route was brilliant. Great location so close to the tunnel we managed to arrive in time for an earlier train! Excellent value for money we'd definitely stay again.
Only stayed one night prior to getting the shuttle the following day. Room was clean and tidy apart from one off putting stain in the door way. Reception/Bar staff extremely helpful and a credit to the hotel. Restaurant available for a limited dinner menu but should cover most tastes and the option to order a takeaway and eat it in the dining room, that's a first and makes sense rather than have people eating in the rooms.
Great location and efficient staff. Travelled With two dogs which was no problem at all and they slept in our room and were allowed in the main bar area too. We arrived too late for dinner but were given a good selection of takeaway menus so we ordered a Chinese which was delivered to the hotel in about 20 minutes. Our room was fine but it was incredibly hot even with the heating off and there was too much traffic noise to open the window. The fold out bed had a rip in the material which was easily noticeable so an surprise this had not been fix as it would be easy to do with a needle and thread! Breakfast was adequate - hot bacon, sausages and scrambled eggs plus cereals and breads. All help yourself. All in all I would be happy to recommend especially if you are using the Tunnel or ferry.
I was there for a day with my wife in February 2017. The hotel is little far from the town center which is roughly 2 miles walk or 8 quids if you take a taxi. We took a double bed room with sofa and the room was spacious and very well appointed, clean and equipped with basic amenities. There wasn't any safe or fridge which I missed but its an express hotel so you can not expect everything. There is a Tesco extra store at less than half a mile distance so you can get any think from there. There was a bar at the hotel as well but we did not use that neither did we had dinner at the hotel. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The breakfast was okay as there were limited vegan options much to the displeasure of my wife. Though I enjoyed the full English breakfast. The deal was value for money as well. I would recommend the hotel to anyone who want to visit Folkstone or Dover and want to be away from the hustle bustle of cities.
This is what you would expect from a Holiday Inn Express. The room was comfortable and clean and the staff very helpful. With a captive audience the food was on the expensive side for what it was but at least there was a fair choice. Drinks on a par with most city prices. Breakfast in the morning was served from 6am with a good choice although the actual cooked offering wasn't the best quality. This gave plenty of time to get to the Shuttle for the 7.20 train. All in all a very pleasant stay
Good example of service standards and staff being on top of their game. Welcoming check-in and advice, comfortable room and dinner in-house - superb fish and chips (rated by a Non-English traveller!) and a burger which put many to shame - all reasonably priced. Breakfast was really good too - well above expectation in choice. Excellent close on-site parking with no worries and close to Motorway and Channel tunnel. Strong wifi. Really pleased about this first time visit.
Just to say thank you for a great dinner! Nice food, size of portions were accurate, yummy desserts and good prices. Friendly atmosphere and smiling faces of waitresses around. We had a very pleasant time :)
Staff really helpful & friendly. Could not do enough. Very convenient for both Tunnel & Ferry. Breakfast was very good. Had more than enough selection. Room lovely & Clean. Car parking, plenty of spaces. Will definitely go back
Booked on early channel tunnel so stayed here night before. It is a 5 minute drive from the tunnel check in making it ideally located. Its just off M20, you go pasta big Tesco 24 and Tesco petrol station and its at the end of a no through road.Modern building, plenty of parking spaces. Friendly reception, nice room with comfy bed and all mod cons. Shower/toilet clean and tidy. Nice bar area, fairly busy when were there. Client mix seemed half contractors and half families. Not much to do in immediate vicinity, area didn't seem to lend itself to a stroll as hotel is next to office blocks and then residential property about 10 mins away so we drove into Folkestone for a walk along the prom ( 10 mins away) Breakfast was included - hot and cold food with the facilities to make a bacon/sausage bun to take with you. Overall a good pit stop for one night.
