Holiday Inn Express Folkestone - Channel Tunnel

Staff are lovely, menu basic and not cheap but for convenience, this is a great stopover. Enjoyed a beer in the bar. Breakfast was good and there is a big Tesco nearby which also sells petrol. No complaints at all really apart from the price of the food and drink but with nothing else nearby, they have the monopoly on this.

We had booked a day trip on the Channel Tunnel but didn't fancy chancing a journey round the M25 in the rush hour so decided to book the Holiday Inn Express Folkestone Channel Tunnel. The welcome we received was among the best in any IHG hotel I have stayed in (and I'm in the topmost tier of their loyalty scheme). The team behind the reception and bar worked well together ensuring that guests came first. We ate at the hotel too, although it does offer a rather basic menu, although it was good enough to satisfy us for the evening. The fact it's dog friendly was a lovely twist as we're both dog lovers and it was lovely to see them in the bar. They have a specific area in which dogs and their owners can sit. The location is superb if you're using the Channel Tunnel - only the M20 stands between the hotel and the terminal. Absolutely recommend and will undoubtedly return if on the Channel Tunnel again. Congratulations to the staff for the excellent service.

We cannot fault our room on the ground floor. Very clean, quite large and comfortable. We were able to pick up wifi in the room and found the staff very helpful. If I was picky I would say we could have done with another chair, only one for two people. We did not have the breakfast as we were leaving early with a continual type breakfast bag. Single beds comfortable and a good size. Would stay here again if travelling to the continent as handy for Dover. Pictures on their website true to the room we were given.

Stayed at the Holiday Inn while transiting through to Germany. The hotel is well sited for the tunnel. The booking in was very quick and staff very pleasant. Room was clean and very spacious, only issue was the heating did not work and room was cold, on enquiring we were told you have to request to have it turned on, this was not mentioned when booking in 😔 Had a few beers and a meal which was nice and not badly priced.

Did not realise this was a dog friendly hotel. Whilst in the restaurant there were 3 large dogs in the reception area of the restaurant being fed food off their owners plates. Little did we know that they were going to be in an "adjoining" room next door to ours. The dogs barked and yelped every time someone went out of the room and were left unattended. At 7.00am the dogs were barking as they had obviously been left whilst their owners went for breakfast. Was not happy and felt uneasy and almost threatened with the dogs in the next room. The room was very clean and tidy. The food was just ok as was the breakfast. The staff were very attentive an friendly.

We have stayed at this holiday inn a few times and I always found it to be clean, comfortable. Reception staff were very welcoming. We were in Folkestone for a family celebration. And we will certainly be back at the Holiday Inn next time

On business trips we just tend to stay at Premier Inn hotels due to the fact most of them have been refurbished in the last year or two. The ladies at reception were very helpful with local knowledge and professional, in their meet and greet. The rooms were spacious with a nice large TV and very clean, as was the bathroom which was well presented. The beds were very comfortable and the location of the hotel was great close to the motorway link roads and very quiet, which I need it to be. Overall excellent and if I had to I would book here again.

We chose this dog friendly hotel for a one night stopover before taking train to France. Check in was quick and friendly. Room was fine, clean and adequate. We were there during an exceptionally cold night and found the room a little chilly even with the heating cranked right up. Breakfast was plentiful and with lots of choices. Good location to Channel Tunnel, Tesco to fill up on fuel and not too far from the coastal path to get out for a walk. Hopefully next time without the snow!

We have stayed at this holiday inn a number of time on our drive to malta. It’s always a good price rooms are large comfortable and clean (they are updating all rooms) the booking and staff are very good and helpful and it’s so close to tunnel.

Yes holiday expresses are basic, but this a great hotel with some of the best reception staff I have experience. Stay here for an early Euro tunnel the following day. The hotel is less than 10min drive. The rooms are ok, bed was comfortable and no noise. Would recommend this hotel.
