This is in a great location for the Eurotunnel. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Good on site car parking. Rooms were clean and well furnished. They7 accept dogs with a surcharge but they welcome dogs into an area of the restaurant (which means you don't have to worry about leaving your dog in the room-some hotels don't like pets unattended in rooms) which serves an adequate evening menu and a good buffet breakfast
Only 4 minutes from the Eurotunnel terminal but this was not the only positive. From arrival where the welcome was excellent and the check in swift, to the room which was up to date, complete with necessary amenities, clean and very comfortable, to the breakfast that was included and very well presented. Staff were friendly and helpful.
The hotel is in a useful location, and the rooms are OK; we had two adjacent rooms with a connecting room, which was useful for our grandchild. But the restaurant is hopeless: they cannot cope with a large number of diners - they could not even take our order for dinner until we had been there 20 minutes. At breakfast the restaurant is likewise unable to cope: the area with the hot food buffet is too cramped and can only accommodate one person collecting food at a time.
Stayed because we wanted a fast getaway the next day. Ideal for channel tunnel just a short journey away. The hotel is nicely situated but you need a room facing away from the tunnel as there is a lot going on all night there. The room was very comfortable and clean. Staff very helpful and a very nice buffet breakfast was included in our price. They do have a restaurant but didn't take advanyage of it so can't comment. Will stay again as it is very convenient.
Our 4th overnight stay before taking an early Eurotunnel. Great value for money as always, helpful staff, good breakfast, and clean comfortable rooms. Well done Holiday Inn. We will be back next year.
This is a Holiday Inn Express so unless you have never stayed in one before you should know what to expect. My partner and I stayed here overnight prior to an early trip on the tunnel next day. We got there mid afternoon and had no problem parking but when we left next day the car park was rammed so be aware! Very friendly staff, especially at check in, very limited menu in the evening but they do offer a take away service via a local supplier. Comfy enough rooms and a good shower. Literally a few minutes from the terminal so you shouldn't be late for your train. When we pop to France again we'll stay here again.
This was to be the start of our first ever Family Holiday which started and ended in a Disaster. We booked a Non-Smoking room as we both don't smoke, but was given a smelly Smoking room, which really stunk of smoke. A floor that looked like it had not been hovered for at least a month Bedding with Stains in the sheets. We were told there was a Phone in the room, but there was None. The Ceiling we thought was going to fall down. The wall paper was stained yellow from all the Smoking. Every time you walk in or out of the hotel, it was like walking through a foggy Smokey area with all the smokers just outside the main entrance door. I could go on and on. I would have complained but by the time we got there, we were just so tired, we took it as a Quick sleep over and move on the next day. NEVER AGAIN.
This place does the job in that it's a hotel with a large car park and it's very close to the Channel Tunnel .It's a bit grubby at the edges and don't expect cordon bleu cuisine .Reception were friendly enough and the bar prices were inexpensive.
For a hotel positioned next to Euro tunnel for people driving to and from France, this hotel has far too few car parking spaces. We were forced to park down a side road of an neighbouring industrial estate, half on and half off the kerb. We then had to drag out bags and cases to the hotel. We returned to the car in the morning half expecting it to be damaged or stolen. Thankfully neither although our wind mirror had been knocked. Breakfast was poor but included. The only positive for this hotel is it's location to the Euro Tunnel. Although Premier Inn is also close by and will be seeing our money next time.
The room was shabby. Mould on the window sill and the door didn't shut properly. The breakfast was lovely though and the reception staff were helpful. I didn't eat at the restaurant and the staff encourage you to order takeaway anyway.
