Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa

Other than the fact that the facility employees were too departmentalized, meaning they only knew about their role & could not assist with good advise in general about the full resort... it was good. Most the employees seemed to genuinely enjoy helping you, a couple bad nuts but over all the amenities, cleanliness & gracious staff was a pleasant experience. Tide pools was the best experience with the most gracious service. The cafe near the pool had great food! The lazy river needs to move a little faster. The lagoon was amazing! The cleanliness of hotel was superb!

Excellent hotel on Kauai, lots of activities in hotel, nice room and building

Overall this was a good but not amazing experience. Pros: - Nice staff -Beautiful property -Good part of The island. It's not too rainy and is relatively central to the airport and the west side of the island Cons: -weird layout of the hotel makes some of the rooms far from the lobby and Pool. - The pools were not heated or at least not heat enough. This is half the reason why we wanted to stay at a nice hotel. - nearby beach is not safe for kids - not that many good kids activities -concierge staff is actually not part of the hotel. They don't know much about the hotel and instead of trying to sell you packages that they get a commission for. -Expensive food -Tadpoles restaurant is not that great

Beautiful resort...but lots of walking depending on room location.

What an amazing resort, pools and the best spa k have ever been to!

Swimming in ocean only during winter months. Due to undertow and rip tides swimming is not recommended during summer months.

Best location, only drawback: beach on this property is not for swimmers (only surfing appropriate).

Magnificent very large resort on beach with excellent accommodations, wonderful ocean view rooms, and great food Great pools including water slide and winding river along with adult only pools All this does come with a price

We had a wonderful relaxing time. The resort is so beautiful you really don't need to leave during your stay. They have all the amenities right there.

The resort property is stunning, with a beautifully landscaped beach, pool, spa, and golf course. The pool is definitely the highlight of the property. It's massive. There are three tiers of pools, each connected by a slide, a lazy river, and three hot tubs. The lazy river winds past waterfalls with small secluded caves where you can sit down to escape the sun for a few minutes. There is additionally a saltwater lagoon if you're looking for something deeper. All water areas were open 24/7 during our stay. Helpful staff, a massage at Anara Spa, and excellent on-site dining made this stay all the more pleasant. The Ilima Terrace restaurant on-site offers a delicious daily breakfast buffet. The one downside is that the prices are quite steep, even for a resort. The breakfast buffet is $35+ per adult, and even mixed drinks at the poolside cabana are $15+ each. All said this is my new favorite property in Kauai. I'll definitely be back! Some tips: The bathroom amenities have a light fragrance, which I personally liked. If you're sensitive to fragrant bath products consider buying some unscented ones when you land in Lihue. The property sells inflatable toys and rafts for use in the pool, but they're low-quality. Buy one off-site if you want one. You won't see people at the beach closest to the resort since water conditions are too rough to swim. There's a more suitable public beach in Poipu if you have car transportation.

nice pool, grounds and restaurants but room was a little dated.

Most incredible grounds ever. Miles of floral delight. Awesome pools, great beach area. The overall atmosphere is wonderful. The rooms are nice, but nothing out of this world. Clean and comfy. The property is a touch expensive to stay at, as high as $600 a night for a standard room, we paid $549 for one night. The area is great and there are lots of places to go eat that are much more affordable so staying here wont put you in the poor house completely!

Wife and I had a great honeymoon trip at this resort. The grounds are beautiful and the staff is very friendly. The daily breakfast buffet was delicious. The price is very steep - which makes it a difficult choice. For the cost, I wish the rooms had a hot tub in them.

Just love the grounds, views and staff here! Much appreciation to Cindy, at front desk, Morah at Sunglass Hut and Jasmine in housekeeping! <3 Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to go to Kauai. Mad love for this place!

Too big and sprawling. It was over 200 yards from elevator to our room. Nice landscape and grounds, but ultimately overpriced. Rent a condo instead.

Gorgeous Views from this hotel! We loved their lobby area so much that we actually spent a sunset enjoying the views listening to the live music and ordering food, which was all conveniently placed to accommodate guests. The room could use some upgrades, but the resort was overall a fantastic place for couple's romantic getaways or even family fun, though I would recommend you select rooms accord to your trip, i.e. family vs. couple. Some rooms face the pools/garden and if you want a romantic getaway, hands down go for ocean views. Also, this hotel is conveniently located close to any activities the island has to offer but due to poor public transport, be sure to rent a car...and there is free parking!

Not sure if it was just because we were in Hawaii, but this hotel was amazing. The pool was wonderful and we were able to reserve a cabana by the beach to relax. On the pricey side, but it was our honeymoon so it was worth the extra expense. A bit isolated, but if you have a car it shouldn't be a problem.

Great hotel with amazing view. The staff was very friendly, professional, and attentive. Hotel restaurants and room service were excellent. Spa services were OK, not bad, but for the price I was expecting more however, staff was excellent.

Great Place for vacation and relaxation. The place is picture perfect. next time will spend more time

Simply the best hotel we've ever stayed at. Have been here four times now at it never disappoints! Great staff who aim to please and we have seen many of them on each of our trips so they know how to keep employees. Great food, location and the grounds are immaculate! Can't say enough good about the G Hyatt!
