We had a long layover and this hotel was the best option to spend the afternoon. The rooms are ok, you have AC, a kettle, TV (no English channels) and WIFI. The hotel is cheap and right across the airport (2 min by car, 5 min walking) definitely better than spending the day at the airport.
very friendly and helpful staff made this an extremely pleasant stay...clean,good Wifi, hot showers and good breakfast.. Fast and easy to the airport.. free pickups and drop-offs too. Definitely will stay here again if in area!
The hotel is close to the airport and very conveniant if you have to catch an early morning flight and want to avoid the traffic jams in Kathmandu. The hotel provides a free pickup service from the aurport. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice and clean. Even though breakfast only started at 7:00 AM the hotel staff prepared us a delicious breakfast at 6:30 AM so that we could catch our flight. That is good customer service!
Whenever I leave and arrive at the Nepal, I stay this hotel. Because location is really good. Near the airport, near the bus stop. And good hot showers. Elevator,Wifi is good. Breakfast is too. Room is clean. Good hospitality.
Our flight to Pokhara was cancelled, so we were forced to find a hotel. We preferred one near the airport. The hotel information booth at the airport recommended this hotel and charged us $70 which we felt was a very high price. He had a taxi driver take us to the hotel, only we were taken to a different hotel. We feel this was a scam. So we insisted we be taken to the Airport Hotel. It did not look like the photos shown to us but the staff was friendly. We were given a suite, but the carpets and furniture was very very dirty. The bedding looked clean. It was difficult getting anything to work. We had dinner there which was good but high priced for Nepal. I would only recommend as a last minute necessity to stay close to the airport for an early flight.
The hotel is a decent choice for it's proximity to the airport, but there are better places to stay in the city. The person who checked us in was courteous and professional. Noting our early check out he asked us if we'd like to have breakfast to go, a welcome suggestion. A plus is a free pickup from the airport. While the hotel is just across the street, it's still a bit of a ways down the hill, and if you're arriving late after a long flight you might not want to deal with walking. There's also not much around the hotel to do/eat at night.
I stayed at this hotel in September 2018 when I first arrived in Kathmandu and again in October before I left. The short distance to the airport is a definite plus. Each stay comes with one complimentary airport pickup OR drop off, NOT both. Given the short distance, if you hire a taxi, it is only 150 rupees. Or you can simply walk. Keep in mind that this is Nepal. If you stay just a few miles away, it can be a good half hour ride to the airport because most of Kathmandu is still DIRT ROADS, not to mention the bad traffic. The staff are very friendly and attended to all of our requests. Here is one suggestion I have for the hotel. Some barrier, even if it's just an inch or two above the floor, between the shower and the toilet/sink area would be nice. I know it's very common in Nepal that such barrier doesn't exist and as a result, the entire bathroom floor is wet after taking a shower. Many hotels offer plastic sandals as a solution, but do I really want to wear public sandals? As I have noticed, many guests are westerners and a basic western comfort like standing on dry floor after shower would certainly make Regal stand out among its peers.
I had the pleasure of staying at the Regal hotel for one night just before my flight the next day. I can safely say that the stay at Regal was one of the most pleasant experiences I have had in Nepal. The service was top notch with great attention to detail. The food was great as well. They had superb wifi and were kind enough to provide me with an airport drop as well. All in all, this is a place I would definitely recommend for anyone who wants to stay closer to the airport.
We booked here for one night the deluxe kingsize room. Close to the airport as we were only having a quick stop over. It's about 500m from the airport so it was a short walk, we were given the 6th floor room with our own private Terrance and roof top look out. We thought thatcwas great until we opened the room door. It obviously had been let out in a while, cockroaches dead and alive, over the floor, the window sill when we opened the curtains, the bed, yuck, it made my skin crawl. We immediately went downstairs to complain. The young girl smiled when I asked her why no one had been up to check the room, open the curtains, the sort of things you would expect of you were letting a room out. She admitted they hadn't used it 'in week's'. They offered us to sit and wait whilst they sorted our another room. We Did, we waited half an hour to be offered the same room, but this time they had cleaned it. Needless to say the service was disgusting and the fact they couldn't clean it prior to our arrival said everything. The manager apologised but it was too late. I was going to stay there! Avoid! Still waiting for my refund....
I stayed in the Regal Airport Hotel for my first 3 weeks living here in Nepal whilst I sorted an apartment. I chose the hotel as it is right outside the airport entrance where I go to work everyday. From the moment I walked in the staff made me very welcome and went out of their way to look after me during my extended stay. I was impressed with the speed of the wifi, quality of the food when ordering off the menu, and in particular, the staffs desire to make my stay as relaxed as possible. I did engage the staff at every opportunity and as a result, made some new friends. Room was good for a 3 star and the bed was very comfortable. It is easy to be critical but I feel it was good value for money and close to where I needed to be. The breakfast could be improved by simply lighting the device that keeps the food hot rather than letting it go cold so quickly. The breakfast from the menu was always hot and tasty. A special mention for the front desk staff - excellent customer service even when faced with idiot and demanding guest. A very enjoyable stay.
