Great location for shopping. Great history. A range of room rates. However, our room had a broken toilet seat, no remote, and we needed to request blankets.
The hotel is a very nice place for those wanting to escape the noise and crowds on the streets of Kathmandu. It is within walking distance to the marketplace, yet set back far enough to look like piece of paradise in the craziness of the city. Staff is very nice and attentive. Our shower did not work and someone came quickly to fix it. Rooms are pretty good though many issues with wifi cutting out. They offer free pickup from the airport, however, you must pay for service to the airport.
our honeymoon hotel, even though they ignored our two emails in advance about it, we still liked/enjoyed this iconic hotel..and an important thing, beware of power blackouts, they happen pretty frequently, hotel was lacking a generator, not sure now..
