They offer a large number of advantages and qualities: very friendly service, helpfulness, sport oportunities, excellent eating options, very close to the Thamel turistic area and in my case the combination with the possibility of events.

I travel frequently to Nepal and this was my first visit to Hotel Annapurna. My first impression was not good as i saw the hotel looked old and i was the organizer of the event and i was given the room in the corner. Since i didn't like the room i asked the reception team to change the room. They immediately changed my room and the room i got was comparatively better than before. I was very disturbed as i was not sure how the event will be organized the next day. Thankfully the event was successful as there were no any problems faced. Thanks to the Annapurna Event Team for handling the function so well. The service and the smile of staff as well as the food was upto the mark. I make sure while i visit Nepal i will stay in Hotel Annapurna

I often stay in Hotel Annapurna every other time i visit Nepal. As always this visit was wonderful without any glitches. I was given a room on the 3rd floor. I enjoyed the cocktail hour. The lady in the lounge( Anju) is very polite while dealing with the guest. The important reason why i like staying in Annapurna is the smile of the staff and they greet you every other time starting from the main porch to the time you enter to the room. I have no reason not to recommend this hotel to others. The food is awesome in any outlet you visit. I make sure to stay in this hotel again while i visit Nepal again. The Manager in the Indian restaurant is very friendly and courteous.

While visiting Nepal i used to stay in Yak and Yeti Hotel . After staying for several times i thought of changing my accommodation. Since i have to go to Thamel for my business trip i was looking for a hotel closer-by and i made a booking in Hotel Annapurna. While i enter in the Hotel the guy at the main door saluted me and entering to the lobby i found the lobby was amazingly huge. They also have a replica of Annapurna goddess temple in the lobby. The check in was promptly done. I was told that there is a huge group staying in the hotel though i like staying in lower floor i was given a room in 3008 and also the roof of the room was very low. However when i spoke to the Reception staff he promised me to shift my room the next day which he did. The food in Indian Restaurant i forgot the name of the restaurant was awesome and staff were very friendly. I along with my friend stayed there genuinely liked the place and while coming to Nepal again i Make sure i will stay in Hotel Annapurna.

We had heard of the famous Hotel Annapurna many times during our stay at Kathmandu and we got a chance to stay with them for one night as our flight got cancelled and they booked us two rooms at Annapurna for my family of four. The hotel is located near to the airport in a very posh and comparatively nicer and cleaner locality. As we entered the hotel we were stunned by the beauty of it. The lobby was big and grand looking with high ceilings and traditional decor. Upon arrival we asked if they had connecting rooms or adjacent rooms but they apologized saying that all their rooms were booked due to the cancellation of all the flights from Kathmandu that day. They only had two rooms available and one was in the ground floor and the other in the first floor. We took that offer as all we needed was a place to stay for one night. We were quickly checked in by one of their friendly staff Rojina, who also gave us vouchers for dinner. Our breakfast was complimentary. She also said that they'll inform us about our flight as and when the airline updates them. The rooms unfortunately weren't as well kept and grand as the lobby. It definitely showed age. It's sad to see that the rooms of such a huge and landmark hotel weren't in its best condition. The hinges of the main door of the room in the ground floor wasn't working properly. The bottom most hinge was very loose causing the door to wobble. The mesh of the drain hole in the bathrooms of both the rooms were dirty and the mesh of the drain in the ground floor had come out of its grouting. The ground floor room had no carpets so the floor was much cleaner. However the first floor room had carpeting which was shabby and smelly. The rooms severely lacked maintenance supervision. The rooms looked drab. The staff however, were really nice and friendly. The house keeping service was quick and prompt. Dinner was in the form of a buffet that was arranged in one of their halls for the passengers of the cancelled flights. Most of the food was vegetarian and Indian. It was really good. The staff were helpful as well. Before we turned in for the night we asked the front desk staff if there was any update from our flight yet because other cancelled flights had informed their passengers about the next day's flight. We were worried that the airline may have forgotten us as there were only the four of us from that particular airline. They called over their hotel representative Mr. T. P. Gurund. He was a very calm person and talking to him made us feel more comfortable. He told us to calm down and that he expected the airline to contact him early tomorrow. He also told us to be ready early in the morning as we may have to leave at a short notice for our morning flight. He said that he won't be there in the hotel the following morning but added that if anything was there we could contact him. The next day we got up early and still received no info from the airline. Doing a bit of our own research we found out that the flight would leave in that morning at about 10. We contacted the staff who immediately called Mr. Gurund. He promptly called back with a positive reply as he contacted the airline. We couldn't thank them enough and they told us that they could arrange a vehicle from their hotel to drop us off to the airport at 7am. We immediately ate breakfast. It was served at the Coffee Shop. I think that the restaurant was a bit small for the size of the hotel. Also, we had to go outside the hotel to reach the restaurant which is a bit of an issue during the rains as we experienced. They did offer us an umbrella though. The spread was good and had many options. Taste wise it wasn't anything special. We immediately left the hotel and reached the airport in their car which was very clean. The driver was also a very friendly and professional person. Overall this hotel is pretty average. The rooms showed age and is in need of renovation. The food was okay. The highlight is the staff. They were extremely friendly and hospitable. They comforted us when we needed comforting and helped us when we needed help by going out of their way. Thank you Rojina and Mr. T P Gurund. I don't know if all the other rooms are like this. If they are, I don't recommend staying there for the price that you have to pay which may be a bit expensive when compared to the other hotels in the area. There are many other great options. But in our case, since our stay was free I'm nothing but greatful to the lovely staff and the hotel. I kindly request and urge the staff to properly maintain the rooms because bad rooms are such a shame to this wonderful property.

I have stayed at this hotel more than once only because of its location. On my previous visits I have ignored the out dated rooms, the rock solid mattresses, the flat and lifeless pillows, the small bugs that seem to have a permanent residence in the rooms. I even ignored the smell of smoke/mold/ddt that seems to permeate throughout the rooms and the hotel, and the wall thumping music that is often played but I cannot ignore rude and hostile staff. The service staff at the front counter are beyond reproach, they blatantly ignore your inclusions and “gang up” when you try to point out what you’ve already paid for. Also, they seem to have only two taxis they will allow to operate from inside and they will charge you extreme amounts and one of them has no idea where he is going most of the time. I will never stay here again and I recommend that if you want a friendly and welcoming experience then choose somewhere else.

From the welcoming staff to the delicious pool, to the 5-star restaurants, you cannot find a better oasis in central Kathmandu than the Hotel Annapurna. I cannot fathom ever wanting to stay elsewhere.

Don't wast your money The rooms is very small the water is brown , they have two types of room the basic one I can give it 2 stars hotel Max and the club room 4 stars Max , so if you want to shift you have to upgrade .with same rate you can find away better hotels

Have looked at the Annapurna several times while visiting KTM in the past because it has a very central location, but have always stayed elsewhere because it looks old. On this trip stayed here for almost a week because I wanted the location. The hotel does desperately need refreshing in the rooms and public spaces - bathrooms with old and cracked fixtures, carpets rather threadbare, just all around tired. If you do stay, ask for a room on the back side, the courtyard rooms that face the pool also face the outdoor party area and can be quite noisy. Only tried the breakfast restaurant, a very limited buffet breakfast selection and other than the usual egg station the selection was very basic, rather plain, and oriented to Asian tastes. This cafe also opens up for dinner and dessert (cake selection looked quite good) and wanted to try it but during my stay it closed up at about 9PM so didn’t get the chance. I wanted to try the main restaurant for dinner but on that night there was live music at such a volume I left the hotel. The bright spot was the staff. All were extremely friendly and helpful in everything from getting a room changed, to front door greetings by the security staff, to management asking if I needed anything. Highest compliments on staff selection! I hope the hotel tries to upscale, at present it’s a 3 star at best and while I want to stay here because it’s local, I wouldn’t unless it renovates; I don’t think it’s as good overall as the nearby Yak and Yeti (which also needs a bit of work in the rooms). While the Annapurna has a great location, is a local small chain worth patronizing and is a historical building it needs be significantly upgraded. If it doesn’t, the upcoming openings of other new large hotels in the area will swallow it up.

Excellent hotel in a classical style. Service and meals perfect. I recommend the classic restaurant in the evening. A very friendly and helpful staff. The club aerial very nice. Central situation. Nice swimming pool. I'll be happy to come back.
